| 1同年，即猶大王漆德克雅即位之初第四年五月，基貝紅人阿組爾的兒子哈納尼雅先知，在上主殿裏當着司祭和全體人民對我說： |
1That same year, in (the beginning of) the reign of Zedekiah, king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourth year, the prophet Hananiah, son of Azzur, from Gibeon, said to me in the house of the LORD in the presence of the priests and all the people: |
| 2「萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：我已折斷了巴比倫王的軛。 |
2"Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon. |
| 3還有兩年，我就要取回巴比倫王拿步高，由這地方取去，帶往巴比倫的一切上主殿宇的器皿，再放在這地方， |
3Within two years I will restore to this place all the vessels of the temple of the LORD which Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, took away from this place to Babylon. |
| 4且領回猶大王約雅金的兒子耶苛尼雅及一切流徙至巴比倫的猶大俘虜，再來到這方──上主的斷語──因為我要折斷巴比倫王的軛。」 |
4And I will bring back to this place Jeconiah, son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the exiles of Judah who went to Babylon,' says the LORD. 'for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.'" |
| 5耶肋米亞先知立即當着站在上主殿裏的司祭和全體人民，答覆了先知哈納尼雅。 |
5The prophet Jeremiah answered the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and all the people assembled in the house of the LORD, |
| 6耶肋米亞先知說：「盼望是這樣！惟願上主這樣做！惟願上主實踐你預言的話，使上主殿宇的器皿和一切俘虜，從巴比倫再回到這地方來！ |
6and said: Amen! thus may the LORD do! May he fulfill the things you have prophesied by bringing the vessels of the house of the LORD and all the exiles back from Babylon to this place! |
| 7不過請聽我當面願對你和全體人民要說的這一句話： |
7But now, listen to what I am about to state in your hearing and the hearing of all the people. |
| 8自古以來，在我和你以前的先知，對多少地區和強盛的王國，曾預言過戰爭，饑饉和瘟疫。 |
8From of old, the prophets who were before you and me prophesied war, woe, and pestilence against many lands and mighty kingdoms. |
| 9至於預言和平的先知，只在這先知的話實現以後，纔可認出這先知確是上主派遣的。」 |
9But the prophet who prophesies peace is recognized as truly sent by the LORD only when his prophetic prediction is fulfilled. |
| 10哈納尼雅先知便從耶肋米亞先知頸上取下木軛，折斷了， |
10Thereupon the prophet Hananiah took the yoke from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, broke it, |
| 11然後對全體人民說：「上主這樣說：還有兩年，我就要這樣從一切民族的頸上，折斷巴比倫王拿步高的軛。」於是耶肋米亞先知只得自行離去。 |
11and said in the presence of all the people: "Thus says the LORD: 'Even so, within two years I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, from off the neck of all the nations.'" At that, the prophet Jeremiah went away. |
| 12哈納尼雅先知從耶肋米亞先知頸上取下木軛折斷以後，即有上主的話傳給耶肋米亞說： |
12Some time after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: |
| 13「你去告訴哈納尼雅說：上主這樣說：你折斷了木軛，但我必做鐵軛來代替。 |
13Go tell Hananiah this: Thus says the LORD: By breaking a wooden yoke, you forge an iron yoke! |
| 14因為萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：我要將鐵軛放在這一切民族的頸上，使他們服事拿步高巴比倫王；他們該服事他，因為連田野的走獸我也交給了他。」 |
14For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: A yoke of iron I will place on the necks of all these nations serving Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and they shall serve him; even the beasts of the field I give him. |
| 15耶肋米亞先知於是對哈納尼雅先知說：「哈納尼雅！請聽，上主並沒有派遣你，你竟使這人民相信謊言。 |
15To the prophet Hananiah the prophet Jeremiah said: Hear this, Hananiah! The LORD has not sent you, and you have raised false confidence in this people. |
| 16為此，上主這樣說：看，我要把你趕出地面；今年你必要死，因為你說了背叛上主的話。」 |
16For this, says the LORD, I will dispatch you from the face of the earth; this very year you shall die, because you have preached rebellion against the LORD. |
| 17哈納尼雅先知就死在那年七月。 |
17That same year, in the seventh month, Hananiah the prophet died. |
