Jonah |
| 1上主安排了一條大魚，吞了約納；約納在魚腹裏，三天三夜。 |
1But the LORD sent a large fish, that swallowed Jonah; and he remained in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. |
| 2約納從魚腹裏，祈求上主，他的天主。 |
2From the belly of the fish Jonah said this prayer to the LORD, his God: |
| 3他說：「我在患難中，呼求上主，他便應允了我；我從陰府的深處呼求，你便俯聽了我的呼聲。 |
3Out of my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me; From the midst of the nether world I cried for help, and you heard my voice. |
| 4你將我拋入海心深處，大水包圍了我；你的波濤和巨浪漫過了我。 |
4For you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the sea, and the flood enveloped me; All your breakers and your billows passed over me. |
| 5我曾說：我雖從你面前被拋棄，但我仍要瞻仰你的聖殿。 |
5Then I said, "I am banished from your sight! yet would I again look upon your holy temple." |
| 6大水圍困我，危及我的性命；深淵包圍我，海草纏住我的頭。 |
6The waters swirled about me, threatening my life; the abyss enveloped me; seaweed clung about my head. |
| 7我下沉直到礁底，大地的門閂永為我關閉。上主，我的天主！你卻從坑裏救出了我的性命。 |
7Down I went to the roots of the mountains; the bars of the nether world were closing behind me forever, But you brought my life up from the pit, O LORD, my God. |
| 8當我奄奄一息時，我記起了上主；我的祈禱達於你前，達於你的聖殿中。 |
8When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; My prayer reached you in your holy temple. |
| 9敬奉虛無偶像的人，實在是捨棄了慈愛的根源。 |
9Those who worship vain idols forsake their source of mercy. |
| 10至於我，我要在頌謝的歌聲中，向你獻祭，償還我許的誓願。救恩屬於上主！」 |
10But I, with resounding praise, will sacrifice to you; What I have vowed I will pay: deliverance is from the LORD. |
| 11當時，上主命令那魚，那魚便將約納吐在陸地上。 |
11Then the LORD commanded the fish to spew Jonah upon the shore. |
