| 1上主對梅瑟說：「還有一種災禍，我要降在法郎和埃及人身上，以後他必要釋放你們離開此地；他釋放你們的時候，是驅逐你們離開此地。 |
1Then the LORD told Moses, "One more plague will I bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. After that he will let you depart. In fact, he will not merely let you go; he will drive you away. |
| 2你要講給百姓聽，叫他們男女各向自己的鄰舍要求金銀之物。」 |
2Instruct your people that every man is to ask his neighbor, and every woman her neighbor, for silver and gold articles and for clothing." |
| 3上主使百姓在埃及人前蒙恩，同時梅瑟在埃及國，在法郎的臣僕和百姓眼中，也成了偉大的人物。 |
3The LORD indeed made the Egyptians well-disposed toward the people; Moses himself was very highly regarded by Pharaoh's servants and the people in the land of Egypt. |
| 4梅瑟說：「上主這樣說：半夜時，我要走遍埃及。 |
4Moses then said, "Thus says the LORD: At midnight I will go forth through Egypt. |
| 5凡埃及國，從坐寶座的法郎的長子，直到推磨的婢女的長子，以及牲畜的一切頭胎，都要死亡。 |
5Every first-born in this land shall die, from the first-born of Pharaoh on the throne to the first-born of the slave-girl at the handmill, as well as all the first-born of the animals. |
| 6埃及全國要有大哀號，是從前沒有，以後也不會再有的哀號。 |
6Then there shall be loud wailing throughout the land of Egypt, such as has never been, nor will ever be again. |
| 7至於以色列子民，連狗也不敢向他們和他們的牲畜吠叫，為叫你們知道，上主已將以色列子民和埃及人分開， |
7But among the Israelites and their animals not even a dog shall growl, so that you may know how the LORD distinguishes between the Egyptians and the Israelites. |
| 8以後你的這些臣僕全都要到我跟前，跪下哀求我說：你和那跟從你的百姓都去罷！然後我才離去。」梅瑟氣憤憤地離開法郎出去了。 |
8All these servants of yours shall then come down to me, and prostrate before me, they shall beg me, 'Leave us, you and all your followers!' Only then will I depart." With that he left Pharaoh's presence in hot anger. |
| 9上主對梅瑟說：「法郎不聽從你們，使我的奇蹟在埃及國多起來。」 |
9The LORD said to Moses, "Pharaoh refuses to listen to you that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt." |
| 10梅瑟和亞郎在法郎面前行了這些奇蹟；但是上主使法郎的心硬，仍不肯放以色列子民離開自己的國家。 |
10Thus, although Moses and Aaron performed these various wonders in Pharaoh's presence, the LORD made Pharaoh obstinate, and he would not let the Israelites leave his land. |
