| 1天主訓示以下這一切話說： |
1 Then God delivered all these commandments: |
| 2「我是上主你的天主，是我領你出了埃及地、奴隸之所。 |
2"I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. |
| 3除我之外，你不可有別的神。 |
3You shall not have other gods besides me. |
| 4不可為你製造任何彷彿天上、或地上、或地下水中之物的雕像。 |
4You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth; |
| 5不可叩拜這些像，也不可敬奉，因為我，上主，你的天主是忌邪的天主； |
5 you shall not bow down before them or worship them. For I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their fathers' wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation; |
6凡惱恨我的，我要追討他們的罪，從父親直到兒子，甚至三代四代的子孫。凡愛慕我和遵守我誡命的，我要對他們施仁慈，直到他們的千代子孫。

6but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation, on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments. |
| 7不可妄呼上主你天主的名；因為凡妄呼他名的人，上主決不讓他們免受懲罰。 |
7"You shall not take the name of the LORD, your God, in vain. For the LORD will not leave unpunished him who takes his name in vain. |
| 8應記住安息日，守為聖日。 |
8"Remember to keep holy the sabbath day. |
| 9六天應該勞作，作你一切的事； |
9Six days you may labor and do all your work, |
| 10但第七天是為恭敬上主你的天主當守的安息日；你自己、連你的兒女、你的僕婢、你的牲口，以及在你中間居住的外方人，都不可作任何工作。 |
10but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you. |
| 11因為上主在六天內造了天地、海洋和其中一切，但第七天休息了，因此上主祝福了安息日，也定為聖日。 |
11In six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the LORD has blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. |
| 12應孝敬你的父親和你的母親，好使你在上主你的天主賜給你的地方，延年益壽。 |
12"Honor your father and your mother, that you may have a long life in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you. |
| 13不可殺人。 |
13"You shall not kill. |
| 14不可姦淫。 |
14"You shall not commit adultery. |
| 15不可偷盜。 |
15"You shall not steal. |
| 16不可作假見證，害你的近人。 |
16"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. |
| 17不可貪你近人的房舍。不可貪戀你近人的妻子、僕人、婢女、牛驢及你近人的一切。 |
17"You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male or female slave, nor his ox or ass, nor anything else that belongs to him." |
| 18眾百姓看見打雷、打閃、吹角、冒煙的山，都戰兢害怕，遠遠站着， |
18When the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the trumpet blast and the mountain smoking, they all feared and trembled. So they took up a position much farther away |
| 19對梅瑟說：「你同我們說話罷！我們定要聽從，不要天主同我們說話，免得我們死亡。」 |
19and said to Moses, "You speak to us, and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we shall die." |
| 20梅瑟回答百姓說：「不要害怕！因為天主降臨是為試探你們，使你們在他面前常懷敬畏之情，不致犯罪。」 |
20Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid, for God has come to you only to test you and put his fear upon you, lest you should sin." |
| 21百姓遠遠站着，梅瑟卻走近天主所在的濃雲中。 |
21Still the people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the cloud where God was. |
| 22上主向梅瑟說：「你這樣訓示以色列子民說：你們親自見過我從天上同你們說了話。 |
22The LORD told Moses, "Thus shall you speak to the Israelites: You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven. |
| 23為此，你們決不可製造金銀神像，同我放在一起；你們萬不可做。 |
23Do not make anything to rank with me; neither gods of silver nor gods of gold shall you make for yourselves. |
| 24你應用土為我築一祭壇，在上面祭獻你的全燔祭與和平祭，以及你的牛羊；凡在我叫你稱頌我名的地方，我必到你那裏祝福你。 |
24 "An altar of earth you shall make for me, and upon it you shall sacrifice your holocausts and peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In whatever place I choose for the remembrance of my name I will come to you and bless you. |
| 25你若用石頭為我築一祭壇，不可用打成方塊的石頭建築，因為在石頭上動用了你的刀鑿，就把石頭褻瀆了。 |
25If you make an altar of stone for me, do not build it of cut stone, for by putting a tool to it you desecrate it. |
| 26你不可沿着台階登我的祭壇，免得暴露你的裸體。 |
26You shall not go up by steps to my altar, on which you must not be indecently uncovered. |
