| 1在那一天，耶穌從家裏出來，坐在海邊上， |
1 On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea. |
| 2有許多群眾集合到他跟前，他只得上船坐下，群眾都站在岸上。 |
2Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood along the shore. |
| 3他就用比喻給他們講論了許多事，說：「看，有個撒種的出去撒種； |
3And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying: "A sower went out to sow. |
| 4他撒種的時候，有的落在路旁，飛鳥來把它吃了。 |
4And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. |
| 5有的落在石頭地裏，那裏沒有多少土壤，因為所有的土壤不深，即刻發了芽； |
5Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, |
| 6但太陽一出來，就被曬焦；又因為沒有根，就枯乾了。 |
6and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. |
| 7有的落在荊棘中，荊棘長起來，便把它們窒息了。 |
7Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. |
| 8有的落在好地裏，就結了實：有一百倍的，有六十倍的，有三十倍的。 |
8But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. |
| 9有耳的，聽罷！」 |
9Whoever has ears ought to hear." |
| 10門徒們前來對他說：「為什麼你用比喻對他們講話？」 |
10The disciples approached him and said, "Why do you speak to them in parables?" |
| 11耶穌回答他們說：「因為天國的奧妙，是給你們知道，並不是給他們知道。 |
11 He said to them in reply, "Because knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been granted to you, but to them it has not been granted. |
| 12因為凡有的，還要給他，使他富足；但是，凡沒有的，連他所有的，也要由他奪去。 |
12To anyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; from anyone who has not, even what he has will be taken away. |
| 13為此，我用比喻對他們講話，是因為他們看，卻看不見；聽，卻聽不見，也不了解； |
13 This is why I speak to them in parables, because 'they look but do not see and hear but do not listen or understand.' |
| 14這樣為他們正應驗了依撒意亞的預言，說：『你們聽是聽，但不了解；看是看，但不明白， |
14Isaiah's prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: 'You shall indeed hear but not understand you shall indeed look but never see. |
| 15因為這百姓的心遲鈍了，耳朵難以聽見；他們閉了眼睛，免得眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裏了解而轉變，而要我醫好他們。』 |
15Gross is the heart of this people, they will hardly hear with their ears, they have closed their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted, and I heal them.' |
| 16但你們的眼睛有福，因為看得見；你們的耳朵有福，因為聽得見。 |
16 "But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. |
| 17我實在告訴你們：有許多先知和義人，想看你們所看見的，而沒有看到；想聽你們所聽見的，而沒有聽到。」 |
17Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it. |
| 18「那麼，你們聽這撒種者的比喻罷！ |
18 "Hear then the parable of the sower. |
| 19凡聽天國的話，而不了解的，那惡者就來把撒在他心裏的奪去：這是指那撒在路旁的。 |
19The seed sown on the path is the one who hears the word of the kingdom without understanding it, and the evil one comes and steals away what was sown in his heart. |
| 20那撒在石頭地裏的，即是指人聽了話，立刻高興接受； |
20The seed sown on rocky ground is the one who hears the word and receives it at once with joy. |
| 21但在心裏沒有根，不能持久，一旦為這話發生了艱難和迫害，就立刻跌倒了。 |
21But he has no root and lasts only for a time. When some tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, he immediately falls away. |
| 22那撒在荊棘中的，即是指人聽了話，卻有世俗的焦慮和財富的迷惑，把話蒙住了，結不出果實。 |
22The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit. |
| 23那撒在好地裏的，即是指那聽了話而了解的人，他當然結實，有結一百倍的，有結六十倍的，有結三十倍的。」 |
23But the seed sown on rich soil is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold." |
| 24耶穌給他們另設了一個比喻說：「天國好像一個人，在自己田裏撒了好種子； |
24He proposed another parable to them. "The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. |
| 25但在人睡覺的時候，他的仇人來，在麥子中間撒上莠子，就走了。 |
25While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. |
| 26苗長起來，抽出穗的時候，莠子也顯出來了。 |
26When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well. |
| 27家主的僕人，就前來對他說：主人！你不是在你田地裏撒了好種子嗎？那麼從那裏來了莠子？ |
27The slaves of the householder came to him and said, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?' |
| 28家主對他們說：這是仇人做的。僕人對他說：那麼，你願我們去把莠子收集起來嗎？ |
28He answered, 'An enemy has done this.' His slaves said to him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?' |
| 29他卻說：不，免得你們收集莠子，連麥子也拔了出來。 |
29He replied, 'No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. |
| 30讓兩樣一起長到收割的時候好了；在收割時，我要對收割的人說：你們先收集莠子，把莠子捆成捆，好燃燒，把麥子卻收入我的倉裏。」 |
30Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, "First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn."'" |
| 31耶穌給他們另設一個比喻說：「天國好像一粒芥子，人把它撒在自己的田裏。 |
31 He proposed another parable to them. "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. |
| 32它固然是各樣種子裏最小的，但當它長起來，卻比各種蔬菜都大，竟成了樹，甚至天上的飛鳥飛來，在它的枝上棲息。」 |
32 It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the 'birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.'" |
| 33他又給他們講了一個比喻：「天國好像酵母，女人取來藏在三斗麵裏，直到全部發了酵。」 |
33He spoke to them another parable. "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leavened." |
| 34耶穌用比喻給群眾講解了這一切，不用比喻就不給他們講什麼； |
34 All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables. He spoke to them only in parables, |
| 35這樣應驗了先知所說的話：『我要開口說比喻，要說出由創世以來的隱密事。』 |
35to fulfill what had been said through the prophet: "I will open my mouth in parables, I will announce what has lain hidden from the foundation (of the world)." |
| 36那時，耶穌離開了群眾，來到家裏，他的門徒就前來對他說：「請把田間莠子的比喻給我們講解一下！」 |
36Then, dismissing the crowds, he went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field." |
| 37他就回答說：「那撒好種子的，就是人子； |
37 He said in reply, "He who sows good seed is the Son of Man, |
| 38田就是世界；好種子，即是天國的子民，莠子即是邪惡的子民； |
38the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one, |
| 39那撒莠子的仇人，即是魔鬼；收穫時期，即是今世的終結；收割者即是天使。 |
39and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. |
| 40就如將莠子收集起來，用火焚燒；在今世終結時也將是如此： |
40Just as weeds are collected and burned (up) with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. |
| 41人子要差遣他的天使，由他的國內，將一切使人跌倒的事，及作惡的人收集起來， |
41The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. |
| 42扔到火窯裏；在那裏要有哀號和切齒。 |
42They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. |
| 43那時，義人要在他們父的國裏，發光如同太陽。有耳的，聽罷！」 |
43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears ought to hear. |
| 44「天國好像是藏在地裏的寶貝；人找到了，就把它藏起來，高興地去賣掉他所有的一切，買了那塊地。」 |
44 "The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. |
| 45「天國又好像一個尋找完美珍珠的商人； |
45Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. |
| 46他一找到一顆寶貴的珍珠，就去，賣掉他所有的一切，買了它。」 |
46When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it. |
| 47「天國又好像撒在海裏的網，網羅各種的魚。 |
47Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. |
| 48網一滿了，人就拉上岸來，坐下，揀好的，放在器皿裏；壞的，扔在外面。 |
48When it is full they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away. |
| 49在今世的終結時，也將如此：天使要出去，把惡人由義人中分開， |
49Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous |
| 50把他們扔在火窯裏；在那裏要有哀號和切齒。 |
50and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. |
| 51這一切你們都明白了嗎？」他們說：「是的。」 |
51"Do you understand all these things?" They answered, "Yes." |
| 52他就對他們說：「為此，凡成為天國門徒的經師，就好像一個家主，從他的寶庫裏，提出新的和舊的東西。」 |
52 And he replied, "Then every scribe who has been instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old." |
| 53耶穌講完了這些比喻，就從那裏走了。 |
53When Jesus finished these parables, he went away from there. |
| 54他來到自己的家鄉，在會堂裏教訓人，以致人們都驚訝說：「這人從那裏得了這樣的智慧和奇能？ |
54 He came to his native place and taught the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said, "Where did this man get such wisdom and mighty deeds? |
| 55這人不是那木匠的兒子？他旳母親不是叫瑪利亞，他的弟兄不是叫雅各伯、若瑟、西滿和猶達嗎？ |
55Is he not the carpenter's son? Is not his mother named Mary and his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? |
| 56他的姊妹不是都在我們這裏嗎？那麼他的這一切是從那裏來的呢？」 |
56Are not his sisters all with us? Where did this man get all this?" |
| 57他們就對他起了反感。耶穌卻對他們說：「先知除了在自己的本鄉本家外，沒有不受尊敬的。」 |
57And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and in his own house." |
| 58他在那裏，因為他們不信，沒有多行奇能。 |
58And he did not work many mighty deeds there because of their lack of faith. |
