| 1那時，有法利塞人和經師，從耶路撒冷來到耶穌跟前說： |
1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, |
| 2「你的門徒為什麼違犯先人的傳授？他們吃飯時竟不洗手。」 |
2"Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They do not wash (their) hands when they eat a meal." |
| 3耶穌回答他們說：「你們為什麼為了你們的傳授，而違犯天主的誡命呢？ |
3He said to them in reply, "And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? |
| 4天主曾說過：『你要孝敬父親和母親。』又說過：『咒罵父親和母親的，應處以死刑。』 |
4For God said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and 'Whoever curses father or mother shall die.' |
| 5你們卻說：誰若對父親或母親說：我所能供養你的，已成了獻儀； |
5 But you say, 'Whoever says to father or mother, "Any support you might have had from me is dedicated to God," |
| 6他就不必再孝敬父親或母親了。你們就為了你們的傳授，廢棄了天主的話。 |
6need not honor his father.' You have nullified the word of God for the sake of your tradition. |
| 7假善人哪！依撒意亞論你們預言的真好，他說： |
7Hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy about you when he said: |
| 8『這民族用嘴唇尊敬我，他們的心卻是遠離我； |
8'This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; |
| 9他們恭敬我也是假的，因為他們所講授的教義是人的規律。』」 |
9in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines human precepts.'" |
| 10耶穌便叫過群眾來，對他們說：「你們聽，且要明白： |
10He summoned the crowd and said to them, "Hear and understand. |
| 11不是入於口的，使人污穢；而是出於口的，纔使人污穢。」 |
11It is not what enters one's mouth that defiles that person; but what comes out of the mouth is what defiles one." |
| 12那時，門徒前來告訴耶穌說：「你知道法利塞人聽了這話，起了反感嗎？」 |
12Then his disciples approached and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard what you said?" |
| 13耶穌答說：「任何植物，凡不是我天父所種植的，必要連根拔除。 |
13He said in reply, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. |
| 14由他們罷！他們是瞎子，且是瞎子的領路人；但若瞎子領瞎子，兩人必要掉在坑裏。」 |
14Let them alone; they are blind guides (of the blind). If a blind person leads a blind person, both will fall into a pit." |
| 15伯多祿遂應聲對耶穌說：「請你給我們講解這個比喻罷！」 |
15Then Peter said to him in reply, "Explain (this) parable to us." |
| 16耶穌說：「連你們也不明白嗎？ |
16He said to them, "Are even you still without understanding? |
| 17你們不曉得：凡入於口的，先到肚腹內，然後排洩到廁所裏去嗎？ |
17Do you not realize that everything that enters the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled into the latrine? |
| 18但那從口裏出來的，都是由心裏發出來的，這些纔使人污穢， |
18But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile. |
| 19因為由心裏發出來的是惡念、凶殺、姦淫、邪淫、盜竊、妄證、毀謗。 |
19 For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, unchastity, theft, false witness, blasphemy. |
| 20這些都使人污穢，至於不洗手吃飯，並不能使人污穢。」 |
20These are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile." |
| 21耶穌離開那裏，就退往提洛和漆冬一帶去了。 |
21 Then Jesus went from that place and withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. |
| 22看，有一個客納罕婦人，從那地方出來喊說：「主，達味之子，可憐我罷！我的女兒被魔糾纏的好苦啊！」 |
22And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, "Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon." |
| 23耶穌卻一句話也不回答她。他的門徒就上前求他說：「打發她走罷！因為她在我們後面不停地喊叫。」 |
23But he did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked him, "Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us." |
| 24耶穌回答說：「我被派遣，只是為了以色列家失迷的羊。」 |
24 He said in reply, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." |
| 25那婦人卻前來叩拜他說：「主，援助我罷！」 |
25But the woman came and did him homage, saying, "Lord, help me." |
| 26耶穌回答說：「拿兒女的餅扔給小狗，是不對的。」 |
26He said in reply, "It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs." |
| 27但她說：「是啊！主，可是小狗也吃主人桌子上掉下來的碎屑。」 |
27She said, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters." |
| 28耶穌回答她說：「啊！婦人，你的信德真大，就如你所願望的，給你成就罷！」從那時刻起，她的女兒就痊愈了。 |
28Then Jesus said to her in reply, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed from that hour. |
| 29耶穌離開了那裏，來到加里肋亞海岸，上了山坐在那裏。 |
29Moving on from there Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, went up on the mountain, and sat down there. |
| 30於是有許多群眾帶着瘸子、殘廢、瞎子、啞吧，和許多其他的病人來到耶穌跟前，把他們放在他的足前，他便治好了他們； |
30Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them. |
| 31致使群眾見到啞吧說話，殘廢康復，瘸子行走，瞎子看見，都大為驚奇，頌揚以色列的天主。 |
31The crowds were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the deformed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind able to see, and they glorified the God of Israel. |
| 32耶穌將自己的門徒召來說：「我很憐憫這群眾，因為他們同我在一起已經三天，也沒有什麼可吃的；我不願遣散他們空着肚子回去，怕他們在路上暈倒。」 |
32 Jesus summoned his disciples and said, "My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, for fear they may collapse on the way." |
| 33門徒對他說：「在荒野裏我們從那裏得這麼多的餅，使這麼多的群眾吃飽呢？」 |
33The disciples said to him, "Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place to satisfy such a crowd?" |
| 34耶穌對他們說：「你們有多少餅？」他們說：「七個，還有幾條小魚。」 |
34Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?" "Seven," they replied, "and a few fish." |
| 35耶穌就吩咐群眾坐在地上， |
35He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground. |
| 36拿起那七個餅和魚來，祝謝了，擘開，遞給門徒；門徒再分給群眾。 |
36Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds. |
| 37眾人都吃了，也都飽了，把剩下的碎塊收集了滿滿七籃子。 |
37They all ate and were satisfied. They picked up the fragments left over--seven baskets full. |
| 38吃的人數，除婦女和孩子外，約有四千人。 |
38Those who ate were four thousand men, not counting women and children. |
| 39耶穌遣散了群眾，就上船，來到瑪加丹境內。 |
39And when he had dismissed the crowds, he got into the boat and came to the district of Magadan. |
