1就在那時刻,門徒來到耶穌跟前說:「在天國裏究竟誰是最大的?」 |
1 At that time the disciples approached Jesus and said, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" |
2耶穌就叫一個小孩來,使他站在他們中間, |
2He called a child over, placed it in their midst, |
3說:「我實在告訴你們:你們若不變成如同小孩一樣,你們決不能進天國。 |
3and said, "Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. |
4所以,誰若自謙自卑如同這一個小孩,這人就是天國中最大的。」 |
4Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. |
5「無論誰因我的名字,收留一個這樣的小孩,就是收留我; |
5 And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me. |
6但無論誰,使這些信我的小子中的一個跌倒,倒不如拿一塊驢拉的磨石,繫在他的頸上,沉在海的深處更好。 |
6"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. |
7世界因了惡表是有禍的,惡表固然免不了要來,但立惡表的那人是有禍的。 |
7 Woe to the world because of things that cause sin! Such things must come, but woe to the one through whom they come! |
8為此,倘若你的手,或你的腳使你跌倒,砍下它來,從你身上扔掉,為你或殘或瘸進入生命,比有雙手雙腳,而被投入永火中更好。 |
8If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter into life maimed or crippled than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into eternal fire. |
9倘若你的眼使你跌倒,剜出它來,從你身上扔掉,為你有一隻眼進入生命,比有雙眼而被投入永火中更好。 |
9And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into fiery Gehenna. |
10你們小心,不要輕視這些小子中的一個,因為我告訴你們:他們的天使在天上,常見我在天之父的面。 |
10 "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father. |
11【因為人子來是為救那喪亡了的。】」 |

12「你們以為如何?如果一個人有一百隻羊,其中一隻迷失了路,他豈不把那九十九隻留在山上,而去尋找那隻迷失了路的嗎? |
12What is your opinion? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray? |
13如果他幸運找着了,我實在告訴你們:他為這一隻,比為那九十九隻沒有迷路的,更覺歡喜; |
13And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. |
14同樣,使這些小子中的一個喪亡,決不是你們在天之父的意願。」 |
14In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost. |
15「如果你的弟兄得罪了你,去,要在你和他獨處的時候,規勸他;如果他聽從了你,你便賺得了你的兄弟; |
15 "If your brother sins (against you), go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won over your brother. |
16但他如果不聽,你就另帶上一個或兩個人,為叫任何事情,憑兩個或三個見證人的口供,得以成立。 |
16 If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that 'every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.' |
17若是他仍不聽從他們,你要告訴教會;如果他連教會也不聽從,你就將他看作外教人或稅吏。 |
17If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. |
18我實在告訴你們:凡你們在地上所束縛的,在天上也要被束縛;凡你們在地上所釋放的,在天上也要被釋放。 |
18 Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. |
19我實在告訴你們:若你們中二人,在地上同心合意,無論為什麼事祈禱,我在天之父,必要給他們成就, |
19 Again, (amen,) I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. |
20因為那裏有兩個或三個人,因我的名字聚在一起,我就在他們中間。」 |
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." |
21那時,伯多祿前來對耶穌說:「主啊!若我的弟兄得罪了我,我該寬恕他多次?直到七次嗎?」 |
21 Then Peter approaching asked him, "Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?" |
22耶穌對他說:「我不對你說:直到七次,而是到七十個七次。 |
22 Jesus answered, "I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. |
23為此天國好比一個君王,要同他的僕人算賬。 |
23That is why the kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who decided to settle accounts with his servants. |
24他開始算賬的時候,給他送來了一個欠他一萬『塔冷通』的, |
24 When he began the accounting, a debtor was brought before him who owed him a huge amount. |
25因他沒有可還的,主人就下令,要他把自己和妻子兒女,以及他所有的一切,都變賣來還債。 |
25Since he had no way of paying it back, his master ordered him to be sold, along with his wife, his children, and all his property, in payment of the debt. |
26那僕人就俯伏在地叩拜他說:主啊!容忍我罷!一切我都要還給你。 |
26 At that, the servant fell down, did him homage, and said, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back in full.' |
27那僕人的主人就動心把他釋放了,並且也赦免了他的債。 |
27Moved with compassion the master of that servant let him go and forgave him the loan. |
28但那僕人正出去時,遇見了一個欠他一百『德納』的同伴,他就抓住他,扼住他的喉嚨說:還你欠的債! |
28When that servant had left, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a much smaller amount. He seized him and started to choke him, demanding, 'Pay back what you owe.' |
29他的同伴就俯伏在地哀求他說:容忍我罷!我必還給你。 |
29Falling to his knees, his fellow servant begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.' |
30可是他不願意,且把他下在監裏,直到他還清了欠債。 |
30But he refused. Instead, he had him put in prison until he paid back the debt. |
31他的同伴見到所發生的事,非常悲憤,遂去把所發生的一切告訴了主人。 |
31Now when his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were deeply disturbed, and went to their master and reported the whole affair. |
32於是主人把那僕人叫來,對他說:惡僕!因為你哀求了我,我赦免了你那一切的債; |
32His master summoned him and said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you your entire debt because you begged me to. |
33難道你不該憐憫你的同伴,如同我憐憫了你一樣嗎? |
33Should you not have had pity on your fellow servant, as I had pity on you?' |
34他的主人大怒,遂把他交給刑役,直到他還清所欠的一切。 |
34Then in anger his master handed him over to the torturers until he should pay back the whole debt. |
35如果你們不各自從心裏寬恕自己的弟兄,我的天父也要這樣對待你們。」 |
35 So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives his brother from his heart." |
