| 1「那時，天國好比十個童女，拿着自己的燈，出去迎接新郎。 |
1 "Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. |
| 2她們中五個是糊塗的，五個是明智的。 |
2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. |
| 3糊塗的拿了燈，卻沒有隨身帶油； |
3The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them, |
| 4而明智的拿了燈，並且在壺裏帶了油。 |
4but the wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps. |
| 5因為新郎遲延，她們都打盹睡着了。 |
5Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. |
| 6半夜有人喊說：新郎來了，你們出來迎接罷！ |
6At midnight, there was a cry, 'Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' |
| 7那些童女遂都起來，裝備她們的燈。 |
7Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. |
| 8糊塗的對明智的說：把你們的油，分些給我們罷！因為我們的燈快要滅了！ |
8The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' |
| 9明智的答說：怕為我們和你們都不夠，更好你們到賣油的那裏去，為自己買罷！ |
9But the wise ones replied, 'No, for there may not be enough for us and you. Go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.' |
| 10她們去買的時候，新郎到了；那準備好了的，就同他進去，共赴婚宴；門遂關上了。 |
10While they went off to buy it, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went into the wedding feast with him. Then the door was locked. |
| 11末後，其餘的童女也來了，說：主啊！主啊！給我們開門罷！ |
11 Afterwards the other virgins came and said, 'Lord, Lord, open the door for us!' |
| 12他卻答說：我實在告訴你們：我不認識你們。 |
12But he said in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.' |
| 13所以，你們該醒寤，因為你們不知道那日子，也不知道那時辰。」 |
13Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour. |
| 14「天國又如一個要遠行的人，將自己的僕人叫來，把財產托付給他們： |
14 "It will be as when a man who was going on a journey called in his servants and entrusted his possessions to them. |
| 15按照他們的才能，一個給了五個『塔冷通』，一個給了兩個，一個給了一個；然後動身走了。 |
15To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one--to each according to his ability. Then he went away. Immediately |
| 16那領了五個『塔冷通』的，立刻去用來營業，另外賺了五個。 |
16the one who received five talents went and traded with them, and made another five. |
| 17同樣，那領了兩個的，也賺了另外兩個。 |
17Likewise, the one who received two made another two. |
| 18但是，那領了一個的，卻去掘開地，把主人的銀子藏了。 |
18 But the man who received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and buried his master's money. |
| 19過了多時，僕人的主人回來了，便與他們算賬。 |
19After a long time the master of those servants came back and settled accounts with them. |
| 20那領了五個『塔冷通』的上前來，呈上另外五個『塔冷通』說：主啊！你曾交給我五個『塔冷通』，看，我賺了另外五個『塔冷通』。 |
20The one who had received five talents came forward bringing the additional five. He said, 'Master, you gave me five talents. See, I have made five more.' |
| 21主人對他說：好！善良忠信的僕人，你既在少許事上忠信，我必委派你管理許多大事：進入你主人的福樂罷！ |
21His master said to him, 'Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master's joy.' |
| 22那領了兩個『塔冷通』的也前來說：主啊！你曾交給我兩個『塔冷通』，看，我賺了另外兩個『塔冷通』。 |
22(Then) the one who had received two talents also came forward and said, 'Master, you gave me two talents. See, I have made two more.' |
| 23主人對他說：好！善良忠信的僕人！你既在少許事上忠信，我必委派你管理許多大事：進入你主人的福樂罷！ |
23His master said to him, 'Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master's joy.' |
| 24隨後，那領了一個『塔冷通』的也前來說：主啊！我原知道你是個刻薄的人，在你沒有下種的地方收割，在你沒有散布的地方聚斂。 |
24Then the one who had received the one talent came forward and said, 'Master, I knew you were a demanding person, harvesting where you did not plant and gathering where you did not scatter; |
| 25因為我害怕，所以我去把你的『塔冷通』藏在地下；看，你的仍還給你。 |
25so out of fear I went off and buried your talent in the ground. Here it is back.' |
| 26主人回答說：可惡懶惰的僕人！你既知道：我在沒有下種的地方收割，在沒有散布的地方聚斂； |
26His master said to him in reply, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I did not plant and gather where I did not scatter? |
| 27那麼，你就該把我的銀子，交給錢莊裏的人，待我回來時，把我連本帶利取回。 |
27Should you not then have put my money in the bank so that I could have got it back with interest on my return? |
| 28所以，你們把這個『塔冷通』從他手中奪過來，給那有了十個『塔冷通』的， |
28Now then! Take the talent from him and give it to the one with ten. |
| 29因為凡是有的，還要給他，叫他富裕；那沒有的，連他所有的，也要由他手中奪去。 |
29 For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. |
| 30至於這無用的僕人，你們把他丟在外面的黑暗中，在那裏必有哀號和切齒。」 |
30 And throw this useless servant into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.' |
| 31「當人子在自己的光榮中，與眾天使一同降來時，那時，他要坐在光榮的寶座上， |
31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, |
| 32一切的民族，都要聚在他面前；他要把他們彼此分開，如同牧人分開綿羊和山羊一樣： |
32and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. |
| 33把綿羊放在自己的右邊，山羊在左邊。 |
33He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. |
| 34那時，君王要對那些在他右邊的說：我父所祝福的，你們來罷！承受自創世以來，給你們預備了的國度罷！ |
34Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. |
| 35因為我餓了，你們給了我吃的；我渴了，你們給了我喝的；我作客，你們收留了我； |
35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, |
| 36我赤身露體，你們給了我穿的；我患病，你們看顧了我；我在監裏；你們來探望了我。 |
36naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.' |
| 37那時，義人回答他說：主啊！我們什麼時候見了你饑餓而供養了你，或口渴而給了你喝的？ |
37Then the righteous will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? |
| 38我們什麼時候見了你作客，而收留了你，或赤身露體而給了你穿的？ |
38When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? |
| 39我們什麼時候見你患病，或在監裏而來探望過你？ |
39When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?' |
| 40君王便回答他們說：我實在告訴你們：凡你們對我這些最小兄弟中的一個所做的，就是對我做的。 |
40And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.' |
| 41然後他又對那些在左邊的說：可咒罵的，離開我，到那給魔鬼和他的使者預備的永火裏去罷！ |
41 Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. |
| 42因為我餓了，你們沒有給我吃的；我渴了，你們沒有給我喝的； |
42For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, |
| 43我作客，你們沒有收留我；我赤身露體，你們沒有給我穿的；我患病或在監裏，你們沒有來探望我。 |
43a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.' |
| 44那時，他們也要回答說：主啊！我們幾時見了你饑餓，或口渴，或作客，或赤身露體，或有病，或坐監，而我們沒有給你效勞？ |
44 Then they will answer and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?' |
| 45那時，君王回答他們說：我實在告訴你們：凡你們沒有給這些最小中的一個做的，便是沒有給我做。 |
45He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.' |
| 46這些人要進入永罰，而那些義人卻要進入永生。」 |
46And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." |
