| 1耶穌講完了這一切話，便對他的門徒說： |
1 When Jesus finished all these words, he said to his disciples, |
| 2「你們知道：兩天以後就是逾越節，人子要被解送，被釘在十字架上。」 |
2"You know that in two days' time it will be Passover, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified." |
| 3那時，司祭長和民間長老，都聚集在名叫蓋法的大司祭的庭院內， |
3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, |
| 4共同議決要用詭計捉拿耶穌，加以殺害。 |
4and they consulted together to arrest Jesus by treachery and put him to death. |
| 5但是他們說：「不可在慶節期內，免得民間發生暴動。」 |
5But they said, "Not during the festival, that there may not be a riot among the people." |
| 6耶穌正在伯達尼癩病人西滿家裏時， |
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, |
| 7有一個女人拿着一玉瓶貴重的香液來到耶穌跟前，倒在正坐席的耶穌的頭上。 |
7a woman came up to him with an alabaster jar of costly perfumed oil, and poured it on his head while he was reclining at table. |
| 8門徒們見了就不滿意說：「為什麼這樣浪費？ |
8When the disciples saw this, they were indignant and said, "Why this waste? |
| 9這香液原可賣得許多錢，施捨給窮人。」 |
9It could have been sold for much, and the money given to the poor." |
| 10耶穌知道了，就對他們說：「你們為什麼叫這個女人難受？她在我身上原是作了一件善事。 |
10Since Jesus knew this, he said to them, "Why do you make trouble for the woman? She has done a good thing for me. |
| 11你們常有窮人同你們在一起，至於我，你們卻不常有。 |
11The poor you will always have with you; but you will not always have me. |
| 12她把這香液倒在我身上，原是為安葬我而作的。 |
12 In pouring this perfumed oil upon my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. |
| 13我實在告訴你們：將來在全世界，這福音無論傳到那裏，必要述說她所的事，來紀念她。」 |
13Amen, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be spoken of, in memory of her." |
| 14隨後，那十二人中之一，名叫猶達斯依斯加略的，去見司祭長， |
14Then one of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscar iot, went to the chief priests |
| 15說：「我把他交給你們，你們願意給我什麼？」他們約定給他三十塊銀錢。 |
15 and said, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" They paid him thirty pieces of silver, |
| 16從此他便尋找機會，要把耶穌交出。 |
16and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over. |
| 17無酵節的第一天，門徒前來對耶穌說：「你願意我們在那裏，給你預備吃逾越節晚餐？」 |
17On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples approached Jesus and said, "Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?" |
| 18耶穌說：「你們進城去見某人，對他說：師傅說：我的時候近了，我要與我的門徒在你那裏舉行逾越節。」 |
18 He said, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The teacher says, "My appointed time draws near; in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with my disciples."'" |
| 19門徒就照耶穌吩咐他們的作了，預備了逾越節晚餐。 |
19The disciples then did as Jesus had ordered, and prepared the Passover. |
| 20到了晚上，耶穌與十二門徒坐席。 |
20When it was evening, he reclined at table with the Twelve. |
| 21他們正吃晚餐的時候，耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們：你們中有一個人要出賣我。」 |
21And while they were eating, he said, "Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me." |
| 22他們非常憂悶，開始各自對他說：「主，難道是我嗎？」 |
22Deeply distressed at this, they began to say to him one after another, "Surely it is not I, Lord?" |
| 23耶穌回答說：「那同我一起把手蘸在盤子裏的人，要出賣我。 |
23He said in reply, "He who has dipped his hand into the dish with me is the one who will betray me. |
| 24人子固然要按照指着他所記載的而去，但出賣人子的那人卻是有禍的！那人若沒有生，為他更好。」 |
24 The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born." |
| 25那要出賣他的猶達斯也開口問耶穌說：「辣彼，難道是我嗎？」耶穌對他說：「你說的是。」 |
25 Then Judas, his betrayer, said in reply, "Surely it is not I, Rabbi?" He answered, "You have said so." |
| 26他們正吃晚餐的時候，耶穌拿起餅來，祝福了，擘開遞給門徒說：「你們拿去吃罷！這是我的身體。」 |
26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, "Take and eat; this is my body." |
| 27然後，又拿起杯來，祝謝了，遞給他們說：「你們都由其中喝罷！ |
27Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you, |
| 28因為這是我的血，新約的血，為大眾傾流，以赦免罪過。 |
28for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins. |
| 29我告訴你們：從今以後，我不再喝這葡萄汁了，直到在我父的國裏那一天，與你們同喝新酒。」 |
29 I tell you, from now on I shall not drink this fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it with you new in the kingdom of my Father." |
| 30他們唱了聖詠，就出來往橄欖山去。 |
30 Then, after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. |
| 31那時，耶穌對他們說：「今夜你們都要為我的緣故跌倒，因為經上記載：『我要打擊牧人，羊群就要四散。』 |
31Then Jesus said to them, "This night all of you will have your faith in me shaken, for it is written: 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be dispersed'; |
| 32但是，我復活後，要在你們以先到加里肋亞去。」 |
32but after I have been raised up, I shall go before you to Galilee." |
| 33伯多祿卻回答他說：「即便眾人都為你的緣故跌倒，我決不會跌倒。」 |
33Peter said to him in reply, "Though all may have their faith in you shaken, mine will never be." |
| 34耶穌對他說：「我實在告訴你：今夜雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」 |
34 Jesus said to him, "Amen, I say to you, this very night before the cock crows, you will deny me three times." |
| 35伯多祿對他說：「即便我該同你一起死，我也決不會不認你。」眾門徒也都這樣說了。 |
35Peter said to him, "Even though I should have to die with you, I will not deny you." And all the disciples spoke likewise. |
| 36隨後，耶穌同他們來到一個名叫革責瑪尼的莊園裏，便對門徒說：「你們坐在這裏，等我到那邊去祈禱。」 |
36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." |
| 37遂帶了伯多祿和載伯德的兩個兒子同去，開始憂悶恐怖起來， |
37He took along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to feel sorrow and distress. |
| 38對他們說：「我的心靈憂悶得要死，你們留在這裏同我一起醒寤罷！」 |
38Then he said to them, "My soul is sorrowful even to death. Remain here and keep watch with me." |
| 39他稍微前行，就俯首至地祈禱說：「我父！若是可能，就讓這杯離開我罷！但不要照我，而要照你所願意的。」 |
39He advanced a little and fell prostrate in prayer, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will." |
| 40他來到門徒那裏，見他們睡着了，便對伯多祿說：「你們竟不能同我醒寤一個時辰嗎？ |
40When he returned to his disciples he found them asleep. He said to Peter, "So you could not keep watch with me for one hour? |
| 41醒寤祈禱罷！免陷於誘惑；心神固然切願，但肉體卻軟弱。」 |
41Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." |
| 42他第二次再去祈禱說：「我父！如果這杯不能離去，非要我喝不可，就成就你的意願罷！」 |
42 Withdrawing a second time, he prayed again, "My Father, if it is not possible that this cup pass without my drinking it, your will be done!" |
| 43他又回來，見他們仍然睡着，因為他們的眼睛很是沈重。 |
43Then he returned once more and found them asleep, for they could not keep their eyes open. |
| 44他再離開他們，第三次去祈禱，又說了同樣的話。 |
44He left them and withdrew again and prayed a third time, saying the same thing again. |
| 45然後回到門徒那裏，對他們說：「你們睡下去罷！休息罷！看，時候到了，人子就要被交於罪人手裏。 |
45Then he returned to his disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Behold, the hour is at hand when the Son of Man is to be handed over to sinners. |
| 46起來，我們去罷！看，那出賣我的已來近了。」 |
46Get up, let us go. Look, my betrayer is at hand." |
| 47他還在說話的時候，看！那十二人中之一的猶達斯來了；同他一起的，還有許多帶着刀劍棍棒的群眾，是由司祭長和民間的長老派來的。 |
47While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a large crowd, with swords and clubs, who had come from the chief priests and the elders of the people. |
| 48那出賣耶穌的給了他們一個暗號說：「我口親誰，誰就是，你們拿住他。」 |
48His betrayer had arranged a sign with them, saying, "The man I shall kiss is the one; arrest him." |
| 49猶達斯一來到耶穌跟前，就說：「辣彼，你好！」就口親了他。 |
49Immediately he went over to Jesus and said, "Hail, Rabbi!" and he kissed him. |
| 50耶穌卻對他說：「朋友，你來做的事就做罷！」於是他們上前，向耶穌下手，拿住了他。 |
50Jesus answered him, "Friend, do what you have come for." Then stepping forward they laid hands on Jesus and arrested him. |
| 51有同耶穌在一起的一個人，伸手拔出自己的劍，砍了大司祭的僕人一劍，削去了他的一個耳朵。 |
51And behold, one of those who accompanied Jesus put his hand to his sword, drew it, and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his ear. |
| 52耶穌遂對他說：「把你的劍放回原處，因為凡持劍的，必死在劍下。 |
52Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its sheath, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. |
| 53你想我不能要求我父，即刻給我調動十二軍以上的天使嗎？ |
53Do you think that I cannot call upon my Father and he will not provide me at this moment with more than twelve legions of angels? |
| 54若這樣，怎能應驗經上所載應如此成就的事呢？」 |
54But then how would the scriptures be fulfilled which say that it must come to pass in this way?" |
| 55在那時，耶穌對群眾說：「你們帶着刀劍棍棒出來拿我，如同對付強盜。我天天坐在聖殿內施教，你們沒有拿我。」 |
55 At that hour Jesus said to the crowds, "Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me? Day after day I sat teaching in the temple area, yet you did not arrest me. |
| 56這一切都發生了，是為應驗先知所記載的。於是門徒都撇下他逃跑了。 |
56But all this has come to pass that the writings of the prophets may be fulfilled." Then all the disciples left him and fled. |
| 57那些拿住耶穌的人，將耶穌帶到大司祭蓋法前；經師和長老已聚集在那裏。 |
57 Those who had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. |
| 58伯多祿遠遠跟着耶穌，直到大司祭的庭院，他也進到裏面，坐在差役中觀看結局。 |
58Peter was following him at a distance as far as the high priest's courtyard, and going inside he sat down with the servants to see the outcome. |
| 59司祭長和全公議會尋找相反耶穌的假證據，要把他處死。 |
59The chief priests and the entire Sanhedrin kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death, |
| 60雖然有許多假見證出庭，但沒有找出什麼。最後有兩個人上前來， |
60but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward |
| 61說：「這人曾經說過：我能拆毀天主的聖殿，在三天內我能把它重建起來。」 |
61who stated, "This man said, 'I can destroy the temple of God and within three days rebuild it.'" |
| 62大司祭就站起來，對他說：「這些人作證反對你的事，你什麼也不回答嗎？」 |
62The high priest rose and addressed him, "Have you no answer? What are these men testifying against you?" |
| 63耶穌卻不出聲。於是大司祭對他說：「我因生活的天主，起誓命你告訴我們：你是不是默西亞，天主之子？」 |
63But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, "I order you to tell us under oath before the living God whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God." |
| 64耶穌對他說：「你說的是。並且，我告訴你們：從此你們將要看見人子坐在大能者的右邊，乘着天上的雲彩降來。」 |
64Jesus said to him in reply, "You have said so. But I tell you: From now on you will see 'the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power' and 'coming on the clouds of heaven.'" |
| 65大司祭遂撕裂自己的衣服說：「他說了褻瀆的話。何必還需要見證呢？你們剛纔聽到了這褻瀆的話， |
65Then the high priest tore his robes and said, "He has blasphemed! What further need have we of witnesses? You have now heard the blasphemy; |
| 66你們以為該怎樣？」他們回答說：「他該死。」 |
66what is your opinion?" They said in reply, "He deserves to die!" |
| 67眾人遂即向他臉上吐唾沫，用拳頭打他；另有一些人也用巴掌打他， |
67 Then they spat in his face and struck him, while some slapped him, |
| 68說：「默西亞，你猜猜是誰打你？」 |
68saying, "Prophesy for us, Messiah: who is it that struck you?" |
| 69伯多祿在外面庭院裏坐着，有一個使女來到他跟前說：「你也是同那加里肋亞人耶穌一起的。」 |
69Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. One of the maids came over to him and said, "You too were with Jesus the Galilean." |
| 70他當着眾人否認說：「我不知道你說的是什麼。」 |
70 But he denied it in front of everyone, saying, "I do not know what you are talking about!" |
| 71他出去到了門廊，另有一個使女看見他，就對那裏的人說：「這人是同那納匝肋人耶穌一起的。」 |
71As he went out to the gate, another girl saw him and said to those who were there, "This man was with Jesus the Nazorean." |
| 72他又發誓否認說：「我不認識這個人。」 |
72Again he denied it with an oath, "I do not know the man!" |
| 73過了一會，站在那裏的人前來對伯多祿說：「的確，你也是他們中的一個，因為你的口音把你露出來了」 |
73 A little later the bystanders came over and said to Peter, "Surely you too are one of them; even your speech gives you away." |
| 74伯多祿就開始詛咒發誓說：「我不認識這個人。」立時雞就叫了。 |
74At that he began to curse and to swear, "I do not know the man." And immediately a cock crowed. |
| 75伯多祿便想起耶穌所說的話來：「雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」他一到了外面，就傷心痛哭起來。 |
75Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had spoken: "Before the cock crows you will deny me three times." He went out and began to weep bitterly. |
