| 1耶穌充滿聖神，由約但河回來，就被聖神引到荒野裏去了， |
1 Filled with the holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert |
| 2四十天的工夫受魔鬼試探；他在那日期內什麼也沒有吃，過了那日期就餓了。 |
2for forty days, to be tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were over he was hungry. |
| 3魔鬼對他說：「你若是天主子，命這塊石頭變成餅罷！」 |
3The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread." |
| 4耶穌回答說：「經上記載：『人生活不只靠餅。』」 |
4Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'One does not live by bread alone.'" |
| 5魔鬼引他到高處，頃刻間把普世萬國指給他看， |
5Then he took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a single instant. |
| 6並對他說：「這一切權勢及其榮華，我都要給你，因為全交給我了；我願意把它給誰，就給誰。 |
6The devil said to him, "I shall give to you all this power and their glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I may give it to whomever I wish. |
| 7所以，你若是朝拜我，這一切都是你的。」 |
7All this will be yours, if you worship me." |
| 8耶穌回答說：「經上記載：『你要朝拜上主，你的天主；惟獨奉侍他。』」 |
8Jesus said to him in reply, "It is written: 'You shall worship the Lord, your God, and him alone shall you serve.'" |
| 9魔鬼又引他到耶路撒冷，把他放在聖殿頂上，向他說：「你若是天主子，從這裏跳下去罷！ |
9 Then he led him to Jerusalem, made him stand on the parapet of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, |
| 10因為經上記載：『他為你吩咐了自己的天使保護你， |
10for it is written: 'He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,' |
| 11他們要用手托着你，免得你的腳踫在石頭上。』」 |
11and: 'With their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'" |
| 12耶穌回答說：「經上說：『不可試探上主，你的天主。』」 |
12Jesus said to him in reply, "It also says, 'You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.'" |
| 13魔鬼用盡了各種試探後，就離開了他，再等時機。 |
13 When the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from him for a time. |
| 14耶穌因聖神的德能，回到加里肋亞。他的名聲傳遍了臨近各地。 |
14Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news of him spread throughout the whole region. |
| 15他在他們的會堂內施教，受到眾人的稱揚。 |
15He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all. |
| 16他來到了納匝肋，自己曾受教養的地方；按他的習慣，就在安息日那天進了會堂，並站起來要誦讀。 |
16 He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up, and went according to his custom into the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read |
| 17有人把《依撒意亞先知書》遞給他；他遂展開書卷，找到了一處，上邊寫說： |
17and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written: |
| 18「上主的神臨於我身上，因為他給我傅了油，派遣我向貧窮人傳報喜訊，向俘虜宣告釋放，向盲者宣告復明，使受壓迫者獲得自由， |
18"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, |
| 19宣布上主恩慈之年。」 |
19and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord." |
| 20他把書卷捲起來，交給侍役，就坐下了。會堂內眾人的眼睛都注視着他。 |
20Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him. |
| 21他便開始對他們說：「你們剛才聽過的這段聖經，今天應驗了。」 |
21He said to them, "Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing." |
| 22眾人都稱讚他，驚奇他口中所說的動聽的話；並且說：「這不是若瑟的兒子嗎？」 |
22And all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth. They also asked, "Isn't this the son of Joseph?" |
| 23他回答他們說：「你們必定要對我說這句俗語：醫生，醫治你自己罷！我們聽說你在葛法翁所行的一切，也在你的家鄉這裏行罷！」 |
23He said to them, "Surely you will quote me this proverb, 'Physician, cure yourself,' and say, 'Do here in your native place the things that we heard were done in Capernaum.'" |
| 24他又說：「我實在告訴你們：沒有一個先知在本鄉受悅納的。 |
24And he said, "Amen, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own native place. |
| 25我據實告訴你們：在厄里亞時代，天閉塞了三年零六個月，遍地起了大饑荒，在以色列原有許多寡婦， |
25 Indeed, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah when the sky was closed for three and a half years and a severe famine spread over the entire land. |
| 26厄里亞並沒有被派到她們中一個那裏去，而只到了漆冬匝爾法特的一個寡婦那裏。 |
26 It was to none of these that Elijah was sent, but only to a widow in Zarephath in the land of Sidon. |
| 27在厄里叟先知時代，在以色列有許多癩病人，他們中沒有一個得潔淨的，只有敘利亞的納阿曼。」 |
27Again, there were many lepers in Israel during the time of Elisha the prophet; yet not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian." |
| 28在會堂中聽見這話的人，都忿怒填胸， |
28When the people in the synagogue heard this, they were all filled with fury. |
| 29起來把他趕出城外，領他到了山崖上──他們的城是建在山上的──要把他推下去。 |
29They rose up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town had been built, to hurl him down headlong. |
| 30他卻由他們中間過去走了。 |
30But he passed through the midst of them and went away. |
| 31耶穌下到加里肋亞的葛法翁城，就在安息日教訓人。 |
31 Jesus then went down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee. He taught them on the sabbath, |
| 32人都十分驚奇他的教訓，因為他的話具有一種權威。 |
32and they were astonished at his teaching because he spoke with authority. |
| 33在會堂裏有一個附着邪魔惡鬼的人，他大聲喊叫說： |
33In the synagogue there was a man with the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out in a loud voice, |
| 34「啊！納匝肋人耶穌，我們與你有什麼相干？你來毀滅我們嗎！我知道你是誰：是天主的聖者。」 |
34"Ha! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!" |
| 35耶穌叱責他說：「不要作聲！從這人身上出去！」魔鬼把那人摔倒在人中間，便從他身上出去了，絲毫沒有傷害他。 |
35Jesus rebuked him and said, "Be quiet! Come out of him!" Then the demon threw the man down in front of them and came out of him without doing him any harm. |
| 36遂有一種驚駭籠罩了眾人，他們彼此談論說：「這是什麼事？他用權柄和能力命令邪魔，而他們竟出去了！」 |
36They were all amazed and said to one another, "What is there about his word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out." |
| 37他的名聲便傳遍了附近各地。 |
37And news of him spread everywhere in the surrounding region. |
| 38他從會堂裏出來，進了西滿的家。西滿的岳母正發高熱，他們為她祈求耶穌。 |
38After he left the synagogue, he entered the house of Simon. Simon's mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever, and they interceded with him about her. |
| 39耶穌就走到她身邊，叱退熱症，熱症就離開了她；她立刻起來服事他們。 |
39He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up immediately and waited on them. |
| 40日落後，眾人把所有患各種病症的，都領到他跟前，他就把手覆在每一個人身上，治好了他們。 |
40At sunset, all who had people sick with various diseases brought them to him. He laid his hands on each of them and cured them. |
| 41又有些從許多人身上出來的魔鬼吶喊說：「你是天主子！」他便叱責他們，不許他們說話，因為他們知道他是默西亞。 |
41 And demons also came out from many, shouting, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak because they knew that he was the Messiah. |
| 42天一亮，耶穌就出去到了荒野地方；群眾就尋找他，一直來到他那裏，挽留他不要離開他們。 |
42 At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a deserted place. The crowds went looking for him, and when they came to him, they tried to prevent him from leaving them. |
| 43他卻向他們說：「我也必須向別的城傳報天主國的喜訊，因為我被派遣，正是為了這事。」 |
43But he said to them, "To the other towns also I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this purpose I have been sent." |
| 44他就常在猶太的各會堂中宣講。 |
44And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea. |
