| 1有一個人，名叫阿納尼雅，同他的妻子撒斐辣賣了一塊田地。 |
1 A man named Ananias, however, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property. |
| 2他扣留了一部分價錢，妻子也表同意，就帶了一部份去放在宗徒腳前。 |
2He retained for himself, with his wife's knowledge, some of the purchase price, took the remainder, and put it at the feet of the apostles. |
| 3伯多祿說道：「阿納尼雅！為什麼撒殫充滿了你的心，使你欺騙聖神，扣留了田地的價錢呢？ |
3But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart so that you lied to the holy Spirit and retained part of the price of the land? |
| 4田地留下不賣，不是還是你的嗎？既賣了，價錢不是還屬於你權下嗎？為什麼你心中打算了這事？你不是欺騙人，而是欺騙天主！」 |
4While it remained unsold, did it not remain yours? And when it was sold, was it not still under your control? Why did you contrive this deed? You have lied not to human beings, but to God." |
| 5阿納尼雅一聽這話，就跌倒斷了氣。凡聽見的人，都十分害怕。 |
5When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and breathed his last, and great fear came upon all who heard of it. |
| 6年輕人就起來，把他裏起，抬去埋葬了。 |
6The young men came and wrapped him up, then carried him out and buried him. |
| 7大約隔了三個時辰，他的妻子進來了，還不知所發生的事。 |
7After an interval of about three hours, his wife came in, unaware of what had happened. |
| 8伯多祿問她說：「你告訴我：你們賣田地的價錢就是這麼多嗎？」她說：「是，就是這麼多。」 |
8Peter said to her, "Tell me, did you sell the land for this amount?" She answered, "Yes, for that amount." |
| 9伯多祿便說：「你們為什麼共謀試探主的神呢﹖看，埋葬你丈夫者的腳已到門口，他們也要把你抬去。」 |
9Then Peter said to her, "Why did you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen, the footsteps of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." |
| 10她立刻跌倒在他腳前，也斷了氣。年輕人進來，見她死了，就抬去埋葬在她丈夫旁邊。 |
10At once, she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men entered they found her dead, so they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. |
| 11全教會和一切聽見這些事的人，都十分害怕。 |
11And great fear came upon the whole church and upon all who heard of these things. |
| 12宗徒們在百姓中行了許多徵兆，顯了許多奇蹟。眾信徒都同心合意地聚在撒羅滿廊下， |
12 Many signs and wonders were done among the people at the hands of the apostles. They were all together in Solomon's portico. |
| 13其他的人沒有一個敢與他們接近的；但是百姓都誇讚他們。 |
13None of the others dared to join them, but the people esteemed them. |
| 14信主的人越來越增加，男女的人數極其眾多。 |
14Yet more than ever, believers in the Lord, great numbers of men and women, were added to them. |
| 15宗徒們行了這樣多的奇蹟，以致有人把病人抬到街上，放在床上或褥子上，好叫伯多祿走過的時候，至少他的影子能遮在一些人身上。 |
15Thus they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and mats so that when Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on one or another of them. |
| 16還有許多耶路撒冷四周城市的人，抬着病人和被邪魔所纏擾的人，齊集而來，他們都得了痊癒。 |
16A large number of people from the towns in the vicinity of Jerusalem also gathered, bringing the sick and those disturbed by unclean spirits, and they were all cured. |
| 17大司祭和他的一切同人，即撒杜塞黨人，都起來，嫉恨填胸， |
17 Then the high priest rose up and all his companions, that is, the party of the Sadducees, and, filled with jealousy, |
| 18下手拿住宗徒，把他們押在公共拘留所內。 |
18laid hands upon the apostles and put them in the public jail. |
| 19夜間，有上主的天使打開了監獄的門，領他們出來說： |
19But during the night, the angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison, led them out, and said, |
| 20「你們去，站在聖殿裏，把一切有關生命的話，講給百姓聽。」 |
20"Go and take your place in the temple area, and tell the people everything about this life." |
| 21他們領了命，天一亮就進入聖殿施教。大司祭和他的同人來召開公議會，即以色列子民全長老議會，差人去監裏把宗徒們提出來。 |
21When they heard this, they went to the temple early in the morning and taught. When the high priest and his companions arrived, they convened the Sanhedrin, the full senate of the Israelites, and sent to the jail to have them brought in. |
| 22差役來到，在監獄中沒有找到他們，便回去報告， |
22But the court officers who went did not find them in the prison, so they came back and reported, |
| 23說：「我們確實看見監獄關鎖的非常牢固，衛兵也站在門前，但一打開，裏面沒有找到一個人。」 |
23"We found the jail securely locked and the guards stationed outside the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside." |
| 24聖殿警官和司祭長一聽這些話，十分納悶，不知發生了什麼事。 |
24When they heard this report, the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests were at a loss about them, as to what this would come to. |
| 25忽有一個人來向他們報告說：「看，你們押在監獄裏的人，站在聖殿裏，教訓百姓。」 |
25Then someone came in and reported to them, "The men whom you put in prison are in the temple area and are teaching the people." |
| 26聖殿警官就同差役去把他們領來，但未用武力，因為怕百姓用石頭砸他們。 |
26Then the captain and the court officers went and brought them in, but without force, because they were afraid of being stoned by the people. |
| 27他們把宗徒領來之後，叫他們站在公議會中，大司祭便審問他 們， |
27When they had brought them in and made them stand before the Sanhedrin, the high priest questioned them, |
| 28說：「我們曾嚴厲命令你們，不可用這名字施教。你們看，你們卻把你們的道理傳遍了耶路撒冷，你們是有意把這人的血，引到我們身上來啊！」 |
28"We gave you strict orders (did we not?) to stop teaching in that name. Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and want to bring this man's blood upon us." |
| 29伯多祿和宗徒們回答說：「聽天主的命應勝過聽人的命。 |
29But Peter and the apostles said in reply, "We must obey God rather than men. |
| 30我們祖先的天主復活了你們下毒手懸在木架上的耶穌。 |
30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus, though you had him killed by hanging him on a tree. |
| 31天主以右手舉揚了他，叫他做首領和救主，為賜給以色列人悔改和罪赦。 |
31God exalted him at his right hand as leader and savior to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins. |
| 32我們就是這些事的證人，並且天主給那些服從他的人所賞的聖神，也為此事作證。」 |
32We are witnesses of these things, as is the holy Spirit that God has given to those who obey him." |
| 33他們一聽這話，大發雷霆，想要殺害他們。 |
33When they heard this, they became infuriated and wanted to put them to death. |
| 34有一個法利塞人，名叫加瑪里耳，是眾百姓敬重的法學士，他在公議會中站起來，命這些人暫時出去。 |
34 But a Pharisee in the Sanhedrin named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, respected by all the people, stood up, ordered the men to be put outside for a short time, |
| 35他便向議員們說：「諸位以色列人！你們對這些人，應小心處 理！ |
35and said to them, "Fellow Israelites, be careful what you are about to do to these men. |
| 36因為在不久以前，特烏達起來，說自己是個大人物，附和他的人數約有四百；他被殺了，跟從他的人也都散了，歸於烏有。 |
36 Some time ago, Theudas appeared, claiming to be someone important, and about four hundred men joined him, but he was killed, and all those who were loyal to him were disbanded and came to nothing. |
| 37此後，加里肋亞人猶達，當戶口登記的日子，起來引誘百姓隨從他；他喪亡了，跟從他的人也都四散了。 |
37After him came Judas the Galilean at the time of the census. He also drew people after him, but he too perished and all who were loyal to him were scattered. |
| 38對現今的事，我奉勸你們：不要管這些人，由他們去罷！因為，若是這計劃或工作是由人來的，必要消散； |
38So now I tell you, have nothing to do with these men, and let them go. For if this endeavor or this activity is of human origin, it will destroy itself. |
| 39但若是從天主來的，你們不但不能消滅他們，恐怕你們反而成了與天主作對的人。」他們都贊成他的意見。 |
39But if it comes from God, you will not be able to destroy them; you may even find yourselves fighting against God." They were persuaded by him. |
| 40他們遂把宗徒們叫來，鞭打了以後，命他們不可再因耶穌的名字講道，遂釋放了他們。 |
40After recalling the apostles, they had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them. |
| 41他們喜喜歡歡地由公議會前出來，因為他們配為這名字受侮辱。 |
41So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name. |
| 42他們每天不斷在聖殿內，或挨戶施教，宣講基督耶穌的福音。 |
42And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Messiah, Jesus. |
