Romans |
| 1我們既因信德成義，便是藉我們的主耶穌基督，與天主和好了。 |
1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| 2藉着耶穌我們得因信德進入了現今所站立的這恩寵中，並因希望分享天主的光榮而歡躍。 |
2through whom we have gained access (by faith) to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. |
| 3不但如此，我們連在磨難中也歡躍，因為我們知道：磨難生忍 耐， |
3Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, |
| 4忍耐生老練，老練生望德， |
4and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, |
| 5望德不叫人蒙羞，因為天主的愛，藉着所賜與我們的聖神，已傾注在我們心中了。 |
5and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us. |
| 6當我們還在軟弱的時候，基督就在指定的時期為不虔敬的人死 了。 |
6For Christ, while we were still helpless, yet died at the appointed time for the ungodly. |
| 7為義人死，是罕有的事：為善人或許有敢死的； |
7Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die. |
| 8但是，基督在我們還是罪人的時候，就為我們死了，這證明了天主怎樣愛我們。 |
8But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. |
| 9現在，我們既因他的血而成義，我們更要藉着他脫免天主的義 怒， |
9How much more then, since we are now justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath. |
| 10因為，假如我們還在為仇敵的時候，因着他聖子的死得與天主和好了；那麼，在和好之後，我們一定更要因着他的生命得救了。 |
10Indeed, if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, once reconciled, will we be saved by his life. |
| 11不但如此，我們現今既藉着我們的主耶穌基督獲得了和好，也必藉着他而歡躍於天主。 |
11Not only that, but we also boast of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. |
| 12故此，就如罪惡藉着一人進入了世界，死亡藉着罪惡也進入了世界；這樣死亡就殃及了眾人，因為眾人都犯了罪：成義也是如此── |
12 Therefore, just as through one person sin entered the world, and through sin, death, and thus death came to all, inasmuch as all sinned -- |
| 13沒有法律之前，罪惡已經在世界上；但因沒有法律，罪惡本不應算為罪惡。 |
13for up to the time of the law, sin was in the world, though sin is not accounted when there is no law. |
| 14但從亞當起，直到梅瑟，死亡卻作了王，連那些沒有像亞當一樣違法犯罪的人，也屬它權下：這亞當原是那未來亞當的預像。 |
14But death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin after the pattern of the trespass of Adam, who is the type of the one who was to come. |
| 15但恩寵決不是過犯所能比的，因為如果因一人的過犯大眾都死了；那麼，天主的恩寵和那因耶穌基督一人的恩寵所施與的恩惠，更要豐富地洋溢到大眾身上。 |
15But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by that one person's transgression the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one person Jesus Christ overflow for the many. |
| 16這恩惠的效果，也不是那因一人犯罪的結果所能比的，因為審判固然是由於一人的過犯而來，被判定罪；但恩賜卻使人在犯了許多過犯之後，獲得成義。 |
16And the gift is not like the result of the one person's sinning. For after one sin there was the judgment that brought condemnation; but the gift, after many transgressions, brought acquittal. |
| 17如果因一人的過犯，死亡就因那一人作了王；那麼，那些豐富地蒙受了恩寵和正義恩惠的人，更要藉着耶穌基督一人在生命中為王了。 |
17For if, by the transgression of one person, death came to reign through that one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of justification come to reign in life through the one person Jesus Christ. |
| 18這樣看來：就如因一人的過犯，眾人都被定了罪；同樣，也因一人的正義行為，眾人也都獲得了正義和生命。 |
18In conclusion, just as through one transgression condemnation came upon all, so through one righteous act acquittal and life came to all. |
| 19正如因一人的悖逆，大眾都成了罪人；同樣，因一人的服從，大眾都成了義人。 |
19For just as through the disobedience of one person the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one the many will be made righteous. |
| 20法律本是後加的，是為增多過犯；但是罪惡在那裏越多，恩寵在那裏也越格外豐富， |
20The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more, |
| 21以致罪惡怎樣藉死亡為王，恩寵也怎樣藉正義而為王，使人藉着我們的主耶穌基督獲得永生。 |
21 so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through justification for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |
