| 1米黎盎和亞郎為了梅瑟所娶的雇士女人出言反對梅瑟，因為他娶了個雇士女人， |
1 While they were in Hazeroth, Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses on the pretext of the marriage he had contracted with a Cushite woman. |
| 2於是說：「上主豈只與梅瑟交談，不是也與我們交談過！」上主聽見了這話。 |
2 They complained, "Is it through Moses alone that the LORD speaks? Does he not speak through us also?" And the LORD heard this. |
| 3梅瑟為人十分謙和，超過地上所有的人。 |
3Now, Moses himself was by far the meekest man on the face of the earth. |
| 4上主忽然向梅瑟、亞郎和米黎盎說：「你們三人到會幕那裏去。」他們三人就去了。 |
4So at once the LORD said to Moses and Aaron and Miriam, "Come out, you three, to the meeting tent." And the three of them went. |
| 5上主乘雲柱降下，停在會幕門口，叫亞郎和米黎盎；他們兩人就走向前去， |
5Then the LORD came down in the column of cloud, and standing at the entrance of the tent, called Aaron and Miriam. When both came forward, |
| 6上主說：「你們聽我說：若你們中有一位是先知，我要在神視中顯示給他，在夢中與他談話； |
6he said, "Now listen to the words of the LORD: Should there be a prophet among you, in visions will I reveal myself to him, in dreams will I speak to him; |
| 7但對我的僕人梅瑟卻不是這樣，他在我全家中是最忠信可靠的。 |
7Not so with my servant Moses! Throughout my house he bears my trust: |
| 8我面對面與他明明說話，不藉謎語，並讓他望見上主的形像。為什麼你們竟不怕出言反對我的僕人梅瑟？」 |
8face to face I speak to him, plainly and not in riddles. The presence of the LORD he beholds. Why, then, did you not fear to speak against my servant Moses?" |
| 9上主對他們發着怒走了。 |
9So angry was the LORD against them that when he departed, |
| 10彩雲一離開會幕，看，米黎盎就生了癩病，像雪那樣白；亞郎轉身看見米黎盎生了癩病， |
10 and the cloud withdrew from the tent, there was Miriam, a snow-white leper! When Aaron turned and saw her a leper, |
| 11遂對梅瑟說：「我主，懇求你，別使我們因一時愚昧所犯之罪而受罰！ |
11"Ah, my lord!" he said to Moses, "please do not charge us with the sin that we have foolishly committed! |
| 12求你別讓她像個胎死腹中的人，一出娘胎，肉身就已腐爛了一半。」 |
12Let her not thus be like the stillborn babe that comes forth from its mother's womb with its flesh half consumed." |
| 13梅瑟遂向上主呼求說：「天主，我求你治好她罷！」 |
13Then Moses cried to the LORD, "Please, not this! Pray, heal her!" |
| 14上主對梅瑟說：「若她的父親在她面上吐唾沬，她豈不要七天忍此羞辱，七天把她隔離在營外，然後才讓她回來？」 |
14But the LORD answered Moses, "Suppose her father had spit in her face, would she not hide in shame for seven days? Let her be confined outside the camp for seven days; only then may she be brought back." |
| 15於是米黎盎七天之久，被隔離在營外；民眾也沒有起程，直到米黎盎回來。 |
15So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not start out again until she was brought back. |
| 16以後，民眾由哈茲洛特起程出發，在帕蘭曠野紮了營。 |
16After that the people set out from Hazeroth and encamped in the desert of Paran. |
