| 1以色列人出埃及國後第二年二月一日，上主在西乃曠野於會幕內訓示梅瑟說： |
1In the year following that of the Israelites' departure from the land of Egypt, on the first day of the second month, the LORD said to Moses in the meeting tent in the desert of Sinai: |
| 2「你們要依照以色列子民的宗族和家系，統計全會眾的人口，把男丁的姓名都一一登記。 |
2 "Take a census of the whole community of the Israelites, by clans and ancestral houses, registering each male individually. |
| 3在以色列中，凡二十歲以上能上陣作戰的，你和亞郎要一隊一隊地統計。 |
3You and Aaron shall enroll in companies all the men in Israel of twenty years or more who are fit for military service. |
| 4每一支派有一人同你們合作，他們都是各宗族的族長。 |
4"To assist you there shall be a man from each tribe, the head of his ancestral house. |
| 5那協助你們的人名如下：勒烏本支派，是舍德烏爾的兒子厄里族爾； |
5These are the names of those who are to assist you: from Reuben: Elizur, son of Shedeur; |
| 6西默盎支派，是族黎沙待的兒子舍路米耳； |
6from Simeon: Shelumiel, son of Zurishaddai; |
| 7猶大支派，是阿米納達布的兒子納赫雄； |
7from Judah: Nahshon, son of Amminadab; |
| 8依撒加爾支派，是族阿爾的兒子乃塔乃耳； |
8from Issachar: Nethanel, son of Zuar; |
| 9則步隆支派，是赫隆的兒子厄里雅布； |
9from Zebulun: Eliab, son of Helon; |
| 10若瑟的兩個兒子：厄弗辣因支派，是阿米胡得的兒子厄里沙瑪；默納協支派，是培達族爾的兒子加默里耳； |
10from Ephraim: Elishama, son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh: Gamaliel, son of Pedahzur, for the descendants of Joseph; |
| 11本雅明支派，是基德敖尼的兒子阿彼丹； |
11from Benjamin: Abidan, son of Gideoni; |
| 12丹支派，是阿米沙待的兒子阿希厄則爾； |
12from Dan: Ahiezer, son of Ammishaddai; |
| 13阿協爾支派，是敖革蘭的兒子帕革厄耳； |
13from Asher: Pagiel, son of Ochran; |
| 14加得支派，是勒烏耳的兒子厄肋雅撒夫； |
14from Gad: Eliasaph, son of Reuel; |
| 15納斐塔里支派，是厄南的兒子阿希辣。」 |
15from Naphtali: Ahira, son of Enan." |
| 16這些人是由會眾中選出來的，都是他們宗族的領袖，以色列的千夫長。 |
16 These were councilors of the community, princes of their ancestral tribes, chiefs of the troops of Israel. |
| 17梅瑟和亞郎就帶着這些提名派定的人， |
17So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated, |
| 18於二月一日召集了全會眾，人都依照宗族和家系登了記，由二十歲以上的，都一一將姓名登了記。 |
18and assembled the whole community on the first day of the second month. Every man of twenty years or more then declared his name and lineage according to clan and ancestral house, |
| 19上主怎樣吩咐了梅瑟，梅瑟就怎樣在西乃曠野統計了他們。 |
19as the LORD had commanded Moses. This is their census as taken in the desert of Sinai. |
| 20以色列的長子勒烏本子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的男子，都一一將姓名登了記； |
20Of the descendants of Reuben, the first-born of Israel, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 21勒烏本支派登記的，計有四萬六千五百。 |
21forty-six thousand five hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Reuben. |
| 22西默盎子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的男子，都一一將姓名登了記， |
22Of the descendants of Simeon, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 23西默盎支派登記的，計有五萬九千三百。 |
23fifty-nine thousand three hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Simeon. |
| 24加得子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； |
24Of the descendants of Gad, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 25加得支派登記的，計有四萬五千六百五十。 |
25forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty were enrolled in the tribe of Gad. |
| 26猶大子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； |
26Of the descendants of Judah, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 27猶大支派登記的，計有七萬四千六百。 |
27seventy-four thousand six hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Judah. |
| 28依撒加爾子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記， |
28Of the descendants of Issachar, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 29依撒加爾支派登記的，計有五萬四千四百。 |
29fifty-four thousand four hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Issachar. |
| 30則步隆子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； |
30Of the descendants of Zebulun, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 31則步隆支派登記的，計有五萬七千四百。 |
31fifty-seven thousand four hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Zebulun. |
| 32若瑟的子孫：厄弗辣因子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； |
32Of the descendants of Joseph-Of the descendants of Ephraim, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 33厄弗辣因支派登記的，計有四萬五百。 |
33forty thousand five hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Ephraim. |
| 34默納協子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的男子，都一一將姓名登了記； |
34Of the descendants of Manasseh, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 35默納協支派登記的，計有三萬二千二百。 |
35thirty-two thousand two hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Manasseh. |
| 36本雅明子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； |
36Of the descendants of Benjamin, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 37本雅明支派登記的，計有三萬五千四百。 |
37thirty-five thousand four hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Benjamin. |
| 38丹子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； |
38Of the descendants of Dan, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 39丹支派登記的，計有六萬二千七百。 |
39sixty-two thousand seven hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Dan. |
| 40阿協爾子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； |
40Of the descendants of Asher, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 41阿協爾支派登記的，計有四萬一千五百。 |
41forty-one thousand five hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Asher. |
| 42納斐塔里子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； |
42Of the descendants of Naphtali, registered by lineage in clans and ancestral houses: when all the males of twenty years or more who were fit for military service were polled, |
| 43納斐塔里支派登記的，計有五萬三千四百： |
43fifty-three thousand four hundred were enrolled in the tribe of Naphtali. |
| 44以上是梅瑟和亞郎並以色列的首領十二人──每宗族一人──所登記的人數。 |
44It was these who were registered, each according to his ancestral house, in the census taken by Moses and Aaron and the twelve princes of Israel. |
| 45以色列中二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的以色列子民，全依照宗族和家系登了記。 |
45The total number of the Israelites of twenty years or more who were fit for military service, registered by ancestral houses, |
| 46全體登記的總數，是六十萬三千五百五十。 |
46was six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty. |
| 47但是肋未人沒有依照自己的宗派同他們一起登記， |
47 The Levites, however, were not registered by ancestral tribe with the others. |
| 48因為上主曾訓示梅瑟說： |
48For the LORD had told Moses, |
| 49「只有肋未支派，不要登記，不要將他們列在以色列子民內。 |
49"The tribe of Levi alone you shall not enroll nor include in the census along with the other Israelites. |
| 50你應派肋未人管理會幕和其中一切器皿，並一切附屬物。他們要搬運會幕和其中一切器皿，在會幕中服務，住在會幕的四周。 |
50You are to give the Levites charge of the Dwelling of the commandments with all its equipment and all that belongs to it. It is they who shall carry the Dwelling with all its equipment and who shall be its ministers. They shall therefore camp around the Dwelling. |
| 51會幕要遷移時，肋未人拆卸；會幕要搭紮時，肋未人張搭；若俗人走近，應處死刑。 |
51When the Dwelling is to move on, the Levites shall take it down; when the Dwelling is to be pitched, it is the Levites who shall set it up. Any layman who comes near it shall be put to death. |
| 52以色列子民應分隊紮營，各歸本旗。 |
52While the other Israelites shall camp by companies, each in his own division of the camp, |
| 53但肋未人應在會幕四周紮營，免得以色列子民會眾觸犯天怒；肋未人應負責看守會幕。」 |
53the Levites shall camp around the Dwelling of the commandments. Otherwise God's wrath will strike the Israelite community. The Levites, then, shall have charge of the Dwelling of the commandments." |
| 54以色列子民都照辦了；上主怎樣吩咐了梅瑟，他們就怎樣辦了。 |
54All this the Israelites fulfilled as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
