| 1那七位拿着七個盂的天使中，有一位前來，向我說道：「你來，我要指給你看，那在多水之旁為王的大淫婦受的懲罰； |
1 Then one of the seven angels who were holding the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come here. I will show you the judgment on the great harlot who lives near the many waters. |
| 2世上的諸王都同她行過邪淫，地上的居民也都喝醉了她淫亂的酒。」 |
2 The kings of the earth have had intercourse with her, and the inhabitants of the earth became drunk on the wine of her harlotry." |
| 3於是天使叫我神魂超拔，提我到了曠野，我便看見了一個婦人，坐在一隻朱紅色且滿了褻瀆名號的獸身上，牠有七個頭，十隻角。 |
3Then he carried me away in spirit to a deserted place where I saw a woman seated on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names, with seven heads and ten horns. |
| 4這婦人身穿紫紅和朱紅色的衣服，全身點綴着金子、寶石和珍珠；她手裏拿着滿盛可憎之物和她淫污的金杯。 |
4The woman was wearing purple and scarlet and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls. She held in her hand a gold cup that was filled with the abominable and sordid deeds of her harlotry. |
| 5她的額上寫着一個含有奧秘的名字：「偉大的巴比倫！淫亂和地上可憎之物的母親。」 |
5On her forehead was written a name, which is a mystery, "Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth." |
| 6我又看見這婦人痛飲了聖徒的血，和為耶穌殉道者的血；我一看見她，遂大為驚奇。 |
6 I saw that the woman was drunk on the blood of the holy ones and on the blood of the witnesses to Jesus. When I saw her I was greatly amazed. |
| 7天使便對我說：「你為什麼驚奇？我要告訴你這婦人和馱着她，而有七個頭和十隻角的那獸的奧秘： |
7The angel said to me, "Why are you amazed? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, the beast with the seven heads and the ten horns. |
| 8你所看見的那獸，先前在而今不在，可是牠又要從深淵中上來，自趨於喪亡；地上居民，凡他們的名字從創世之初，沒有紀錄在生命冊中的，看見那先前在，而今不在，將來又在的獸，都必要驚奇。 |
8 The beast that you saw existed once but now exists no longer. It will come up from the abyss and is headed for destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world shall be amazed when they see the beast, because it existed once but exists no longer, and yet it will come again. |
| 9這裏需要一個有智慧的明悟去理解：七個頭是指那婦人所坐的七座山，也是指七位君王； |
9Here is a clue for one who has wisdom. The seven heads represent seven hills upon which the woman sits. They also represent seven kings: |
| 10五位已經倒了，一位仍在，另一位還沒有來到；當他來到時，必要存留片刻。 |
10five have already fallen, one still lives, and the last has not yet come, and when he comes he must remain only a short while. |
| 11至於那先前在而今不在的獸，是第八位，也屬於那七位中之一，牠要趨於喪亡。 |
11The beast that existed once but exists no longer is an eighth king, but really belongs to the seven and is headed for destruction. |
| 12你所看見的那十隻角，是指十個君王，他們還沒有領受王位，但必要同那獸一起得到權柄；他們當國王，只一個時辰。 |
12The ten horns that you saw represent ten kings who have not yet been crowned; they will receive royal authority along with the beast for one hour. |
| 13他們的意見都一致：就是把自己的能力和權柄都交給那獸。 |
13They are of one mind and will give their power and authority to the beast. |
| 14他們要同羔羊交戰，羔羊卻要戰勝他們，因為他是萬主之主，萬王之王，同他在一起的蒙召、被選和忠信的人，也必要獲勝。」 |
14They will fight with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and king of kings, and those with him are called, chosen, and faithful." |
| 15天使又對我說：「你看見那淫婦所統治的水，是指諸民族、群眾、邦國和異語人民。 |
15Then he said to me, "The waters that you saw where the harlot lives represent large numbers of peoples, nations, and tongues. |
| 16你看見的那十隻角和那獸，必要憎恨那淫婦，使她成為孤獨淒涼，赤身裸體的，並吞食她的肉，且用火焚燒她， |
16The ten horns that you saw and the beast will hate the harlot; they will leave her desolate and naked; they will eat her flesh and consume her with fire. |
| 17因為天主使牠們的心中有這意念，叫牠們實行天主的計劃，就是叫牠們一心，把牠們的王權交給那獸，直到天主的話完全應驗為止。 |
17For God has put it into their minds to carry out his purpose and to make them come to an agreement to give their kingdom to the beast until the words of God are accomplished. |
| 18你所看見的那婦人，是指那座對地上的諸王握有王權的大城。」 |
18The woman whom you saw represents the great city that has sovereignty over the kings of the earth." |
