| 1那时全以色列人聚集到赫贝龙，来见达味说：「看我们都是你的骨肉。 | 1All the people of Israel went to David at Hebron "Look, we are your own flesh and blood. |
| 2以前连撒乌耳为王时，也是你率领以色列出入征讨；并且上主你的天主，也曾对你说过：你应牧养我的百姓以色列，作我的百姓以色列的领袖。」 | 2Even when Saul was our king, you led Israel in battle; and Yahweh your God said to you, 'You are the man who shall be shepherd of my people Israel and shall be ruler over them.'" |
| 3以色列所有的长老都到赫贝龙来见君王，达味就在赫贝龙，在上主面前同他们立了约；他们便按照上主藉撒慕尔所吩咐的，给达味傅油，立他为以色列王。 | 3So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and David made a covenant with them at Hebron in the presence of Yahweh, and he became king of Israel, just as Yahweh had promised through Samuel. |

| 6达味曾说过：「谁首先击败耶步斯人，谁将升为将领和元帅。」责鲁雅的儿子约阿布首先上去了，所以他成了元帅。 | 6David said, "The first man to attack the Jebusites shall become leader and commander of the army." Joab son of Zeruiah attacked first and became commander. |
| 7达味便住在那山堡内，因此人称之为达味城。 | 7David went to live in the fortress, and because of this it was called the City of David. |
| 8达味又重修四周城垣，从米罗起，重修一周；城的其余部分由约阿布修建。 | 8He then built a wall around the city, and the Millo as well as the surrounding wall, while Joab restored the rest of the city. |
| 9达味日渐强盛，万军的上主与他同在。 | 9David grew greater and greater, and Yahweh Sabaoth was with him. |
| 10以下这些人，是极力拥护达味建国，与全以色列人照上主对以色列所吩咐的，立他为王的主要将士。 | 10These are the famous warriors of David, those who during his rule struggled with him and with all Israel, to make him king as Yahweh had promised. |
| 11达味的将士名单如下：哈革摩尼的儿子依市巴耳，是三杰之首；一次他曾举起长矛，击杀了三百人。 | 11This is the list of David's warriors: Jashobeam the Hachmonite, leader of the Thirty; one day he wielded his battle-ax against three hundred whom he killed at one time. |
| 12次为阿曷亚人多多的儿子厄肋阿匝尔，三杰之一， | 12After him there was Eleazar son of Dodo, the Ahohite, one of the three champions. |
| 13他以前同达味在帕斯达明，培肋舍特人正在那里集合准备交战时，【以色列人退却，他却固守阵地，击杀培肋舍特人，直到他手软无力，粘在刀柄上。上主在那一天完成了一大胜利；民众返回，随着他去抢战利品。再其次是哈辣黎人厄拉的儿子沙玛，那时培肋舍特人在肋希集合】，在那里有一块长满大麦的田地，民众由培肋舍特人面前逃走， | 13He was with David at Pasdammim where the Philistines had gathered to attack. There was a field full of barley there. When the Israelites started to run away, |
| 14他却立在田间保护了那块田地，杀败了培肋舍特人，如此上主又完成了一次大胜利。 | 14Eleazar took a stand in the middle of the field, defended it and fought the Philistines. So Yahweh brought about a great victory. |
| 15一次三十勇士中有三位下到阿杜蓝山砦附近的岩石里去见达味，那时培肋舍特人正扎营在勒法因平原里， | 15The Thirty leading soldiers went down to David at the rock near the Cave of Adullam while a company of Philistines was encamped in the Valley of the Rephaim. |
| 16同时达味恰在山砦内，培肋舍特人当时也在白冷驻防， | 16David was then on a fortified hill, and a group of Philistines had occupied Bethlehem. |
| 17达味渴望说：「谁能从白冷城门旁的井中，给我打一点水来喝？」 | 17David sighed, "Oh, if someone would fetch me a drink of water from the well by the gate of Bethlehem!" |
| 18那三位勇士就冲过培肋舍特人的营幕，从白冷城门旁的井中打了水，将水取来带到达味前；但达味不肯喝，反而将水奠于上主前， | 18At this The Three, forcing their way through the Philistine camp, drew water from the well by the gate of Bethlehem and, bringing it away, presented it to David. But David would drink none of it and poured it out as an offering to Yahweh. |
| 19说「我的天主决不许我做这事！我岂能喝这些冒生命危险者的血？因为这是他们冒生命危险取来的。」所以他不肯喝。这是这三个勇士所做的。 | 19"God keep me," he said, "from doing this! Am I to drink the blood of these men? For at the risk of their lives they brought it." And so he would not drink it. Such were the deeds of The Three. |
| 20约阿布的兄弟阿彼瑟，是三十勇士的领袖，他挥舞长矛杀了三百人，因此在三十勇士中出了名； | 20Abishai, the brother of Joab, was leader of The Thirty. He fought with his spear against three hundred whom he killed, winning himself a name among The Thirty. |

| 23他也曾打死了一个埃及巨人。这埃及人身高五肘，手中拿着粗如织布机轴的长矛，贝纳雅下去，手中仅拿着一根棍杖，从那埃及人手中，把长矛夺了过来，用那长矛将他杀死。 | 23He also killed an Egyptian, a huge man seven and a half feet tall. The Egyptian had a gigantic spear in his hand, but Benaiah attacked him with a club, snatched the spear from the Egyptian's hand and killed the man with it. |
| 24这是约雅达的儿子贝纳雅所做的事。因此在三十勇士中出了名。 | 24Such were the deeds of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, winning him a name among the thirty leading soldiers. |
| 25他比三十勇士更有名望，但尚不及三杰。达味派他作侍卫长。 | 25He was famous among The Thirty, but he was not as famous as The Three. David put him in command of his bodyguard. |
| 26其余的勇士：有约阿布的兄弟阿撒耳，白冷人多多的儿子厄耳哈难， | 26The other valiant warriors were: Asahel the brother of Joab. Elhanan son of Dodo, from Bethlehem. |
| 27哈洛得人沙摩特，帕耳提人赫肋兹， | 27Shammoth from Harod, Helez the Pelonite. |
| 28特科亚人依刻士的儿子依辣，阿纳托特人阿彼厄则尔， | 28Ira son of Ikkesh, from Tekoa. Abiezer from Anathoth. |
| 29胡沙人息贝开，阿曷亚人依来， | 29Sibbecai from Hushah. Ilai from Ahoh. |
| 30乃托法人玛哈赖，乃托法人巴阿纳的儿子赫肋得， | 30Maharai from Netophah. Heled son of Baanah, from Netophah. |
| 31本雅明族基贝亚人黎拜的儿子依泰、丕辣通人贝纳雅， | 31Ithai son of Ribai, from Gibeah of Benjamin. Benaiah from Pirathon. |
| 32加阿士溪人胡赖，贝特阿辣巴人阿彼巴耳， | 32Hurai from the valleys near Gaash. Abiel from Bethhaarabah. |
| 33巴胡陵人阿次玛委特，沙阿耳宾人厄里雅巴， | 33Azmaveth from Baharum. Eliahba from Shaalbon. |
| 34基宗人雅笙，哈辣黎人沙革的儿子约纳堂， | 34Benehashem from Gizon. Jonathan son of Shagee, from Harar. |
| 35哈辣黎人撒加尔的儿子阿希杨，乌尔的儿子厄里法耳， | 35Ahiam son of Sachar, from Harar. Eliphelet son of Ur. |
| 36默革辣人赫费尔，基罗人阿希雅， | 36Hepher from Mecherah. Ahijah the Pelonite. |
