| 1全能的上主，以色列的天主！忧伤的灵魂和苦恼的心灵正在向你呼号： | 1Almighty Lord, God of Israel, a soul in anguish and a discouraged spirit cries out to you. |
| 2上主！求你俯听垂怜，因为你是仁慈的天主；求你垂怜，因我们得罪了你。 | 2Listen, Lord, and have pity for we have sinned against you; |
| 3你永居王位，而我们却要永远丧亡。 | 3for you reign forever while we perish forever. |
| 4全能的上主，以色列的天主！求你俯听垂死的以色列人，和犯罪得罪了你的人的子孙的祈祷：他们没有听从你，他们天主的声音，因此灾祸便缠绕我们。 | 4Lord, all-powerful God of Israel, listen then to the prayers of the dead of Israel. We are the sons of those who sinned against you, who did not listen to the voice of their God, and this is why disgrace has come upon us. |
| 5求你不再记忆我们祖先的不义，求你在此时只忆及你的威能和你的圣名， | 5Do not remember any longer the wrongdoing of our fathers, but remember at this time your power and your name; |
| 6因为你是上主，我们的天主，我们要赞颂你，上主！ | 6for you are the Lord, our God and we will praise you, Lord. |
| 7你使我们存心敬畏你，正是为叫我们称呼你的名号；如今我们就在流徙之地赞颂你，从心里离弃我们的祖先在你前所犯的一切不义。 | 7That is why you have put your fear into our hearts and we call upon your name. And we will praise you in our exile for we have removed from our hearts all the wrong of our fathers who sinned against you. |
| 8看，我们今天仍在你叫我们流徙所到的充军地，饱受诅咒凌辱，为补赎我们祖先的一切不义，因为他们离弃了上主，我们的天主。 | 8We are here today in our exile where you have scattered us to be insulted, cursed and condemned for the wrongdoing of our fathers, who separated themselves from the Lord our God. |
| 9null | 9Listen, Israel, to the commands of life, give ear so as to learn prudence, |
| 10以色列，请听取生命的规律，请侧耳领会智慧。 | 10Why, Israel! Why are you in the land of your foes? Why are you growing old in a foreign country, contaminated by pagans, |
| 11以色列！这是什么事呢？怎么你竟住在敌人的国内，在异地衰老， | 11counted among those who go to the pit? |
| 12与亡者同污，与降入阴府的人同列呢？ | 12You have abandoned the source of Wisdom. |
| 13这是因为你离弃了智慧的泉源。 | 13If you had walked in the way of God, peace would be your dwelling place forever. |
| 14倘若你走天主的道路，你必永远处于平安之中。 | 14Learn where is Wisdom, where is Strength and Understanding, that you may know, at the same time, where are length of days and life, light of the eyes and Peace. |
| 15你应学习智慧的所在，力量的所在，聪明的所在；这样，你也能知道长寿和生命的所在，眼的光明和平安的所在。 | 15Who will find Wisdom's dwelling? Who will enter her storage rooms? |
| 16谁找到了智慧的处所？谁进入了智慧的宝库？ | 16Where are the leaders of the nations, those who commanded the beasts of the earth, |
| 17治理人民和驯服地上走兽的人，在那里呢？ | 17who played with the birds of the heavens, who piled up silver and gold - in which men put their trust - and who never tired of collecting it? |
| 18玩弄空中的飞鸟和积蓄人依恃的金银而贪得无厌的人，在那里呢？ | 18Amassing money was their only concern, their business beyond measure. |
| 19专心致志铸造银器，使自己的作品无奇不有的人，在那里呢？ | 19But they have disappeared, they have gone down to the dead and others have risen in their place. |
| 20他们都不见了，降入了阴府；已另有人起来代替了他们。 | 20A younger generation is there on the earth and enjoys the light, but they have not known the ways of knowledge; they have not seen his tracks nor have they met him, |
| 21年轻的一代一生在世上，就住在地上；但他们仍不认识智慧的道路， | 21and their sons after them did not leave their paths. |
| 22仍不知道智慧的途径，连他们的子孙，也没有得到她，因为他们离她的道路很远。 | 22No one in Canaan has heard of Wisdom, no one has seen her in Teman. |
| 23在客纳罕没有人听说过她，在特曼没有人看见过她， | 23The sons of Agar, who seek knowledge of the earth, the traders of Madian and Teman, the tellers of fables and philosophers, they have not known the path of Wisdom, they have not discovered her ways. |
| 24连在地上寻求明智的哈加尔的子孙，以及讲说寓言并寻求明智的米德杨和特玛商人，也不认识智慧的道路，不提及她的途径。 | 24O Israel, how great is the house of God, how vast his dominion! |
| 25以色列天主的住所多么广大，他的领域多么宽阔！ | 25It is great and has no limits. It is lofty, wide and immeasurable. |
| 26真是广大无边，高远无垠。 | 26There were born the ancient and famous giants of high stature and skillful in war. |
| 27在那里曾出生过自古有名，身材魁梧和勇敢善战的巨人， | 27God did not choose them, he did not teach them the ways of Wisdom, |
| 28天主却没有拣选他们，没有指示给他们智慧的道路； | 28and they perished because of their folly, because they lacked knowledge. |
| 29他们灭亡了，因为没有智慧；他们灭亡了，因为他们昏愚。 | 29Who has ascended to Heaven that he may lay hold of her and bring her down from the clouds? |
| 30谁曾上到天上，取得智慧，使她从云中降下？ | 30Who has crossed seas and found her, and bought her with the purest of gold? |
| 31谁曾横渡海洋，寻获智慧，用纯金购买了她呢？ | 31There is no one who knows her path, no one who thinks of her way. |
| 32没有人认识她的道路，没有人探得她的途径。 | 32But he who knows everything recognizes her. He has found her in his own intellect. He who created the earth, for all time, and has filled it with four-footed beings. |
| 33惟有那全知者认识她，以自己的才智寻获了她，是他永远坚定了大地，使大地充满了牲畜； | 33He who sends the light, and it goes, who recalls it, and trembling it obeys. |
| 34是他命闪光发出，闪光即发出；他一召回，即颤栗应命。 | 34The stars shine, full of joy, to keep their night watches. He calls them and they answer, "Here we are." They shine with joy for their Creator. |
| 35星辰各在自己的岗位闪烁，喜形于色； | 35It is he who is our God, no other can be compared with him. |
| 36他一召唤，随即答说：我们在此！向自己的创造者欣然闪烁。 | 36He has found the way of understanding and has given her to Jacob his servant and to Israel his well-beloved. |
| 37他就是我们的天主，没有别的可同他相比； | 37Then Wisdom was seen on earth and lived among men. |
| 38他寻得了智慧的一切道路，将她赐给了他的仆人雅各伯，和他心爱的以色列； | 38 |
| 39从此智慧在地上出现，与世人共相往还。 | 39 |
