¹上主对梅瑟说：「你去见法郎，向他说：上主希伯来人的天主这样说：你应放走我的百姓，叫他们去崇拜我。	¹Yahweh said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, 'This is the message of Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews: Let my people go and offer sacrifices to me.
²你若拒绝不放，仍然扣留他们，	²If you refuse to let them go and hold them back any longer,
³看，上主的手必用一种严厉的瘟疫加在你田野间的一切牲畜：就是马、驴、骆驼、牛、羊身上。	³the hand of Yahweh will bring a terrible plague on your horses, your donkeys and your camels, on your cattle and your sheep.
⁴上主要分清以色列子民的牲畜和埃及人的牲畜，凡是以色列子民的，一个也不死。	⁴But Yahweh will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt. Nothing belonging to the people of Israel will die."
⁵上主规定了时间说：明天上主要在此地实行这事。」	⁵Yahweh then fixed a time and said, "It will be done tomorrow."
⁶第二天上主便作了这事。埃及人的牲畜完全死了，但以色列子民的，一个也没有死。	⁶Yahweh did this the following day; all the livestock belonging to the Egyptians died, but not one owned by the Israelites died.
⁷法郎打发人去看，果然以色列子民的牲畜，连一个也没有死。但是法郎仍然心硬，不肯放走百姓。	⁷Pharaoh made inquiries and in fact found that none of the cattle belonging to the Israelites had died. But Pharaoh remained adamant and did not let the people go.
⁸上主又对梅瑟和亚郎说：「你们满手抓把炉灰，梅瑟要在法郎眼前向天扬起。	⁸Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, "Take two handfuls of ashes from the brick oven and let Moses throw it up in the air in front of Pharaoh's eyes.
⁹这灰要在埃及全国变成尘土，使全埃及国的人和牲畜身上生出红疹和脓疮。」	⁹It will become fine dust all over Egypt and bring festering boils on men and animals."
¹⁰他们就取了炉灰站在法郎面前；梅瑟将灰向天扬起，人和牲畜身上便起了红疹和脓疮。	¹⁰So they took ashes from the oven and, in the presence of Pharaoh, Moses threw it up in the air and it brought festering boils on men and animals.
¹¹巫士们因为生了疮，不能站在梅瑟面前，因为巫士和一切埃及人身上都生了疮。	¹¹And the magicians could not stand before Moses because they had boils like all the other Egyptians.
¹²上主使法郎心硬，法郎仍不肯听梅瑟和亚郎的话，正如上主向梅瑟说过的。	¹²But Yahweh made Pharaoh stubborn and he did not listen to Moses and Aaron as Yahweh had foretold.
¹³上主对梅瑟说：「明天早晨你去见法郎，向他说：上主，希伯来人的天主这样说：你要放走我的百姓，使他们去崇拜我。	¹³Yahweh said to Moses, "Rise early; present yourself to Pharaoh and say to him: This is the message of Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews: Send my people away to worship me
¹⁴因为这一次我要使我的一切灾祸降到你、你的臣仆和你的人民身上，为叫你知道全世界上没有相似我的。	¹⁴because this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you, your ministers and your people, that you may know there is no one like me in the whole world.
¹⁵现在如果我伸手用瘟疫打击你和你的人民，你早已从地上消灭了。	¹⁵For had I wished, I could have raised my hand against you and your people, and with a similar pestilence wiped you from the face of the earth.
¹⁶我所以保留你的原故，是为叫你看见我的能力，向全世界传扬我的名。	¹⁶But this is why I have let you live: that you may witness my power and that my name may be celebrated throughout the earth.
¹⁷你若仍然固执压迫我的百姓，不放走他们，	¹⁷Are you still set against my people leaving the country?
¹⁸看我明天此时要降下可怕的冰雹，是埃及建国以来直到现在所未有过的。	¹⁸Tomorrow at this time I will send very heavy hail such as has never been in Egypt from the day of its foundation.
¹⁹所以你快派人把你的牲畜和你田野间的一切，带到安全地方，因为凡在田野间的人和牲畜而不聚到屋内的，冰雹必降在他们身上，将他们砸死。」	¹⁹So now let all your livestock and all that you have in the fields take shelter, because when the hail falls on all that remains in the fields, whether men or animals, they will die."
²⁰法郎的臣仆中凡害怕上主的话的，就叫自己的奴仆和牲畜逃避到家中；	²⁰Those among Pharaoh's officials who believed Yahweh's word hurried to bring their slaves and cattle inside;
²¹那不把上主的话放在心上的，就将奴仆和牲畜舍在田野。	²¹but those who paid no attention to Yahweh's warning left their slaves and their cattle in the fields.
²²上主对梅瑟说：「向天伸开你的手，使冰雹降在埃及全国，降在人和牲畜身上，降在埃及国内田野间的植物上。」	²²Then Yahweh said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand towards heaven and let hail fall throughout Egypt on men and animals, and all that grows in the field."
²³梅瑟把他的棍杖向天一伸，上主便叫打雷，下雹，闪电打在地上。上主使冰雹降在埃及地时，	²³Moses stretched out his staff towards heaven and Yahweh sent thunder and hail; lightning struck the earth
²⁴冰雹和冰雹中夹杂着不停的闪电，情形极其可怕，是全埃及国自从有人民以来所没有过的。	²⁴and Yahweh rained hail on the land of Egypt: lightning flashed in the midst of the hail. It was very heavy hail such as had never been known in all Egypt from the time it had first become a nation.
²⁵冰雹把埃及全境，田野间所有的一切，连人和牲畜都打死了，打坏了田野间的一切蔬菜，打断了郊野的一切树木；	²⁵Throughout Egypt the hail struck everything in the fields, both men and animals. It beat down everything growing in the fields and felled every tree.
²⁶只有以色列子民所居住的哥笙地没有冰雹。	²⁶But where the Israelites lived there was no hail.
²⁷法郎打发人召梅瑟和亚郎来，对他们说：「这次我犯了罪，上主是正义的，我和我的人民都有罪过。	²⁷Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Now it is clear I have sinned. Yahweh is in the right; I and my people are in the wrong.
²⁸请你们祈求上主！天主的雷和冰雹已够受了；我决放走你们，你们不要再留在这里。」	²⁸Pray Yahweh to stop the thunder and hail! I will let you go, and no longer will you stay here."
²⁹梅瑟回答他说：「我出城后，就向上主伸手，雷必会停止，冰雹也不再降下，为叫你知道，大地是属于上主的。	²⁹Moses said to him, "As soon as I leave the town I will lift my hands towards Yahweh; the thunder will cease and there will be no more hail, and you will know that the earth is Yahweh's.
³⁰但是我知道，你和你的臣仆，仍不敬畏上主天主。」	³⁰But as for you and your officials, I know that you don't yet fear Yahweh, our God."
³¹麻和大麦都被打坏，因为大麦已经吐穗，麻也开花，	³¹The flax and the barley were ruined, as the barley was almost ripe and the flax was in flower,
³²只是小麦和粗麦，因为长的迟些，没有被打坏。	³²but the wheat and the spelt which are late crops were not destroyed.
³³梅瑟离开法郎出了城，向上主伸手，雷和雹就停止了，雨也不往地上下了。	³³Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city and raised his hands towards Yahweh. The thunder and hail ceased and it stopped raining.
³⁴法郎见雨、雹、雷都停止了，又再犯罪，他和他的臣仆又心硬了。	³⁴Pharaoh, seeing that there was no rain and that the thunder and hail had ceased, sinned yet again.
³⁵法郎更加心硬，不肯放走以色列子民，正如上主藉梅瑟所说的。	³⁵He and his ministers remained unyielding and would not let the Israelites go, just as Yahweh had foretold through Moses.
