创世纪 Genesis
1当时全世界只有一种语言和一样的话。 1The whole world had one language and a common speech.
2当人们由东方迁移的时候，在史纳尔地方找到了一块平原，就在那里住下了。 2As people moved from east, they found a plain in the country of Shinar where they settled.
3他们彼此说：「来，我们做砖，用火烧透。」他们遂拿砖当石，拿沥青代灰泥。 3They said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and bake them in fire." They used brick for stone and bitumen for mortar.
4然后彼此说：「来，让我们建造一城一塔，塔顶摩天，好给我们作记念，免得我们在全地面上分散了！」 4They said also, "Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top reaching heaven; so that we may become a great people and not be scattered over the face of the earth!"
5上主遂下来，要看看世人所造的城和塔。 5Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower that the sons of man were building,
6上主说：「看，他们都是一个民族，都说一样的语言。他们如今就开始做这事；以后他们所想做的，就没有不成功的了。 6and Yahweh said, "They are one people and they have one language. If they carry this through, nothing they decide to do from now on will be impossible.
7来，我们下去，混乱他们的语言，使他们彼此语言不通。」 7Come! Let us go down and confuse their language so that they will no longer understand each other."
8于是上主将他们分散到全地面，他们遂停止建造那城。 8So Yahweh scattered them over all the earth and they stopped building the city.
9为此人称那地为「巴贝耳」，因为上主在那里混乱了全地的语言，且从那里将他们分散到全地面。 9That is why it was called Babel, because there Yahweh confused the language of the whole earth and from there Yahweh scattered them over the whole face of the earth.
10以下是闪的后裔：洪水后两年，闪正一百岁，生了阿帕革沙得； 10These are Shem's descendants: When Shem was a hundred years old he became the father of Arpachshad, two years after the flood. After the birth of Arpachshad,
11生阿帕革沙得后，闪还活了五百年，也生了其他的儿女。 11Shem lived five hundred years and he had more sons and daughters.
12阿帕革沙得三十五岁时，生了舍拉； 12When Arpachshad was thirty-five years old he became the father of Shelah.
13生舍拉后，阿帕革沙得还活了四百零三年，也生了其他的儿女。 13After the birth of Shelah, Arpachshad lived four hundred and three years and he had more sons and daughters.
14舍拉三十岁时，生了厄贝尔； 14When Shelah was thirty years old he became the father of Eber. After the birth of Eber,
15生厄贝尔后，舍拉还活了四百零三年，也生了其他的儿女。 15Shelah lived four hundred and three years and he had more sons and daughters.
16厄贝尔三十四岁时，生了培肋格； 16When Eber was thirty-four years old he became the father of Peleg. After the birth of Peleg,
17生培肋格后，厄贝尔还活了四百三十年，也生了其他的儿女。 17Eber lived four hundred and thirty years and he had more sons and daughters.
18培肋格三十岁时，生了勒伍； 18When Peleg was thirty years old he became the father of Reu;
19生勒伍后，培肋格还活了二百零九年，也生了其他的儿女。 19Peleg lived two hundred and nine years and he had more sons and daughters.
20勒伍三十二岁时，生了色鲁格； 20When Reu was thirty-two years old he became the father of Serug;
21生色鲁格后，勒伍还活了二百零七年，也生了其他的儿女。 21Reu lived two hundred and seven years and he had more sons and daughters.
22色鲁格三十岁时，生了纳曷尔； 22When Serug was thirty years old he became the father of Nahor. After the birth of Nahor,
23生纳曷尔后，色鲁格还活了二百年，也生了其他的儿女。 23Serug lived two hundred years and he had more sons and daughters.
24纳曷尔活到二十九岁时，生了特辣黑； 24When Nahor was twenty-nine years old he became the father of Terah. After the birth of Terah,
25生特辣黑后，纳曷尔还活了一百一十九年，也生了其他的儿女。 25Nahor lived a hundred and nineteen years and he had more sons and daughters.
26特辣黑七十岁时，生了亚巴郎、纳曷尔和哈郎。 26When Terah was seventy years old he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.
27以下是特辣黑的后裔：特辣黑生了亚巴郎、纳曷尔和哈郎；哈郎生了罗特。 27These are Terah's descendants: Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot.
28哈郎在他的出生地，加色丁人的乌尔，死在他父亲特辣黑面前。 28Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, Ur of the Chaldeans.
29亚巴郎和纳曷尔都娶了妻子：亚巴郎的妻子名叫撒辣依；纳曷尔的妻子名叫米耳加，她是哈郎的女儿；哈郎是米耳加和依色加的父亲。 29Abram and Nahor both married: Abram's wife was called Sarai; Nahor's wife was called Milcah, the daughter of Haran, father of Milcah and Iscah.
30撒辣依不生育，没有子女。 30Sarai was barren, having no child.
31特辣黑带了自己的儿子亚巴郎和孙子，即哈郎的儿子罗特，并儿媳，即亚巴郎的妻子撒辣依，一同由加色丁的乌尔出发，往客纳罕地去；他们到了哈兰，就在那里住下了。 31Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law, the wife of Abram, and made them leave Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan. But on arrival in Haran they settled there.
32特辣黑死于哈兰，享寿二百零五岁。 32Terah lived two hundred and five years; then he died in Haran.
