| 2兴兵攻击索多玛王贝辣，哈摩辣王彼尔沙，阿德玛王史纳布，责波殷王舍默贝尔及贝拉即左哈尔王。 | 2these kings made war on Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar). |
| 3那些王子会合于息丁山谷，即今日的盐海。 | 3All these joined forces in the valley of Siddim (that is the Salt Sea). |
| 4他们十二年之久隶属于革多尔老默尔，在十三年上就背叛了。 | 4Twelve years they had been dominated by Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled. |

| 10息丁山谷遍地是沥青坑；索多玛王和哈摩辣王逃跑时都跌在坑里；其余的人都逃到山里去了。 | 10Now there were many bitumen pits in the valley of Siddim, and as the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some fell into them and the rest took refuge in the mountains. |
| 11那四个王子劫走了索多玛和哈摩辣所有的财物和一切食粮， | 11The enemy took all the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah, all their provisions and went off. |
| 12连亚巴郎兄弟的儿子罗特和他的财物也带走了，因为那时他正住在索多玛。 | 12They also took Lot, the son of Abram's brother, who lived in Sodom, and his possessions and went off. |
| 13有个逃出的人跑来，将这事告诉了希伯来人亚巴郎，他那时住在阿摩黎人玛默勒的橡树区；这阿摩黎人原是亚巴郎的盟友厄市苛耳和阿乃尔的兄弟。 | 13One who escaped came to tell Abram the Hebrew, who was living by the oak of Mamre the Amorite, the brother of Eshcol and of Aner: these were allies of Abram. |
| 14亚巴郎一听说他的亲人被人掳去，遂率领家中的步兵三百一十八人，直追至丹。 | 14As soon as Abram heard that his brother had been taken away captive, he assembled and led forth his trained men born in his house, three hundred and eighteen men and set off in pursuit as far as Dan. |
| 15夜间又和自己的仆人分队袭击，将他们击败，直追至大马士革以北的曷巴， | 15He grouped his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and routed and followed them to Hobah, north of Damascus. |
| 16夺回了所有的财物，连他的亲属罗特和他的财物，以及妇女和人民都夺回来了。 | 16Then he brought back all his possessions, his kinsman Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the people. |

| 19祝福他说：「愿亚巴郎蒙受天地的主宰，至高者天主的祝福！ | 19and he blessed Abram saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth! |
| 20愿将你的敌人交于你手中的至高者的天主受赞美！」亚巴郎遂将所得的，拿出十分之一，给了默基瑟德。 | 20And blessed be God Most High who has delivered your enemies into your hands!" And Abram gave him a tenth part of everything. |
| 21索多玛王对亚巴郎说：「请你将人交给我，财物你都拿去罢！」 | 21The king of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself." |
| 22亚巴郎却对索多玛王说：「我向上主、至高者天主、天地的主宰举手起誓： | 22Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I raise my hand to Yahweh God Most High, creator of heaven and earth, to swear |
| 23凡属于你的，连一根线，一根鞋带，我也不拿，免得你说：我使亚巴郎发了财。 | 23that not one thread or thong of a sandal, or anything that is yours, would I take. Lest you say, 'Abram became rich at my expense,' |
| 24除仆从吃用了的以外，我什么也不要；至于与我同行的人阿乃尔、厄市苛耳和玛默勒所应得的一分，应让他们拿去。」 | 24I claim nothing for myself! Only what the young men have eaten and the share that is due to Aner, Eshcol and Mamre, the men who came with me." |
