| 1亚巴郎九十九岁时，上主显现给他，对他说：「我是全能的天主，你当在我面前行走，作个成全的人。 | 1When Abram was ninety-nine years old, Yahweh appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty. Walk in my presence and be without blame! |
| 2我要与你立约，使你极其繁盛。」 | 2I will make a covenant between myself and you, and I will multiply your race." |
| 3亚巴郎遂俯伏在地；天主又对他说： | 3Abram fell face down and God said to him, |
| 4「看，是我与你立约：你要成为万民之父； | 4"This is my covenant with you: you will be the father of a multitude of nations. |
| 5以后，你不再叫做亚巴郎，要叫做亚巴辣罕，因为我已立定你为万民之父， | 5No longer will you be called Abram, but Abraham, because I will make you the father of a multitude of nations. |
| 6使你极其繁衍，成为一大民族，君王要由你而出。 | 6I will make you more and more famous; I will multiply your descendants; nations shall spring from you, kings shall be among your descendants. |
| 7我要在我与你和你历代后裔之间，订立我的约，当作永久的约，就是我要做你和你后裔的天主。 | 7And I will establish a covenant, an everlasting covenant between myself and you and your descendants after you; from now on I will be your God and the God of your descendants after you, for generations to come. |
| 8我必将你现今侨居之地，即客纳罕全地，赐给你和你的后裔做永久的产业；我要作他们的天主。」 | 8I will give to you and your descendants after you the land you are living in, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession and I will be the God of your race." |
| 9天主又对亚巴郎说：「你和你的后裔，世世代代应遵守我的约。 | 9God said to Abraham, "For your part, you shall keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you, generation after generation. |
| 10这就是你们应遵守的，在我与你们以及你的后裔之间所立的约：你们中所有的男子都应受割损。 | 10This is my covenant with you, that you will keep, you and your descendants after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised; |
| 11你们都应割去肉体上的包皮，作为我与你们之间的盟约的标记。 | 11you shall circumcise your foreskin and that will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. |
| 12你们中世世代代所有的男子，在生后八日都应受割损；连家中生的，或是用钱买来而不属你种族的外方人，都应受割损。 | 12When he is eight days old, every male among you will be circumcised, generation after generation; |
| 13凡在你家中生的，和你用钱买来的奴仆，都该受割损。这样，我的约刻在你们肉体上作为永久的约。 | 13those born in your household or bought from a foreigner to be slaves. Whether born in your household or bought to be slaves, they must be circumcised. So my covenant will be written in your flesh as an everlasting covenant. |
| 14凡未割去包皮，未受割损的男子，应由民间铲除；因他违犯了我的约。」 | 14Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people for having broken my covenant." |
| 15天主又对亚巴郎说：「你的妻子撒辣依，你不要再叫她撒辣依，而要叫她撒辣。 | 15God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai, your wife, no longer are you to call her Sarai, but Sarah. |
| 16我必要祝福她，使她也给你生个儿子。我要祝福她，使她成为一大民族，人民的君王要由她而生。」 | 16I will bless her, and I will give you a son by her. I will bless her and from her will come nations; kings and peoples shall come from her." |
| 17亚巴郎遂俯伏在地笑起来，心想：「百岁的人还能生子吗？撒辣已九十岁，还能生子？」 | 17Then Abraham fell face down, and he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? And can Sarah who is ninety have a child?" |
| 18亚巴郎对天主说：「只望依市玛耳在你面前生存就够了！」 | 18And Abraham said to God, "If only you would accept Ishmael as yours!" |
| 19天主说：「你的妻子撒辣确要给你生个儿子，你要给他起名叫依撒格；我要与他和他的后裔，订立我的约当作永久的约。 | 19But God said, "Not at all! It is Sarah, your wife, who will give birth to your son and you will name him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him and his descendants after him forever. |
| 20至于依市玛耳，我也听从你；我要祝福他，使他繁衍，极其昌盛。他要生十二个族长，我要使他成为一大民族。 | 20As for Ishmael, I heard you. I will bless him and make him fruitful, and I will multiply his race. He shall be the father of twelve princes and I will make of him a great nation. |
| 21但是我的约，我要与明年此时撒辣给你生的依撒格订立。」 | 21But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, the child Sarah will have this time next year." |
| 22天主同亚巴郎说完话，就离开他上升去了。 | 22When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went away from him. |
| 23当天，亚巴郎就照天主所吩咐的，召集他的儿子依市玛耳以及凡家中生的，和用钱买来的奴仆，即自己家中的一切男子，割去了他们肉体上的包皮。 | 23Abraham then took Ishmael, his son, as well as all those born in his house and all those he had bought to be slaves, all the males in the household of Abraham, and circumcised their foreskins that same day as God had told him. |
| 24亚巴郎受割损时，已九十九岁； | 24Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised, |
| 25他的儿子，依市玛耳受割损时，是十三岁。 | 25and his son, Ishmael, was thirteen. |
| 26亚巴郎和他的儿子依市玛耳在同日上受了割损。 | 26Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised that same day. |
| 27他家中所有的男人，不论是家中生的，或是由外方人那里用钱买来的奴仆，都与他一同受了割损。 | 27And every male in his household, whether born in his household or bought with money from a foreigner, was circumcised with him. |
