创世纪	Genesis
¹上主照所许的，眷顾了撒辣；上主对撒辣实践了他所说的话。	¹Yahweh was kind to Sarah as he had said, and fulfilled his promise to her.
²撒辣怀了孕，在天主所许的时期，给年老的亚巴郎生了一个儿子。	²Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time Yahweh had promised.
³亚巴郎为撒辣给他所生的儿子，起名叫依撒格。	³Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son that Sarah bore him
⁴生后第八天，亚巴郎照天主所吩咐的给自己的儿子依撒格行了割损。	⁴and circumcised him when he was eight days old, as Yahweh had commanded.
⁵他儿子依撒格诞生时，亚巴郎正一百岁；	⁵Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.
⁶为此撒辣说：「天主使我笑，凡听见的也要与我一同笑。」	⁶Sarah said, "God has brought me laughter and everyone who hears of this will laugh with me."
⁷又说：「谁能告诉亚巴郎，撒辣要哺养儿子呢？可是我在他老年，却给他生了个儿子。」	⁷She added, "Who would have told Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have given birth to a son for him in his old age."
⁸孩子渐渐长大，断了乳；在依撒格断乳的那天，亚巴郎摆了盛宴。	⁸The child grew and on the day Isaac was weaned, Abraham held a great feast.
⁹撒辣见那埃及女人哈加尔给亚巴郎生的儿子，戏笑自己的儿子依撒格，	⁹Sarah saw the child that Hagar, the Egyptian had borne to Abraham, mocking her son
¹⁰就对亚巴郎说：「你该赶走这婢女和她的儿子，因为这婢女的儿子不能和我的儿子依撒格一同承受家业。」	¹⁰and she said to Abraham, "Send this slave girl and her son away; the child of this slave must not share the inheritance with my son, Isaac."
¹¹亚巴郎为了他这儿子的事很是苦恼。	¹¹This matter distressed Abraham because it concerned his son,
¹²但天主对亚巴郎说：「你不必为这孩子和你的婢女苦恼；凡撒辣对你说的，你都可听从，因为只有藉依撒格你的名才能传后。	¹²but God said to him, "Don't be worried about the boy and your maidservant. Listen to Sarah and do whatever she says, because the race which is called by your name will spring from Isaac.
¹³至于这婢女的儿子，我也要使他成为一大民族，因为他也是你的孩子。」	¹³But from the son of your servant I will also form a nation, for he too is your offspring."
¹⁴第二天，亚巴郎清早起来，拿了饼和一皮囊水，交给哈加尔，放在她肩上，又将孩子交给她，打发她走了。她一路前行，在贝尔舍巴旷野迷失了路。	¹⁴Abraham rose early next morning and gave bread and a skin bag of water to Hagar. He put the child on her back and sent her away. She went off and wandered in the desert of Beersheba.
¹⁵那时皮囊里的水已用尽，她把孩子丢在一堆小树下，	¹⁵When there was no more water in the skin, she pushed the boy under one of the bushes,
¹⁶自己走开，在约离一箭之远的对面坐下，自言自语说：「我不忍见这孩子夭折。」就坐在对面放声大哭。	¹⁶and then went and sat down about a hundred yards away, for she thought, "I cannot bear to see my son die." But as she sat there, the child began to wail.
¹⁷天主听见孩子啼哭，天主的使者由天上呼唤哈加尔说：「哈加尔！你有什么事？不要害怕，因为天主已听见孩子在那里的哭声。	¹⁷God heard him and the Angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said, "What is the matter, Hagar? Don't be afraid. God has heard the boy crying.
¹⁸起来，去扶起孩子来，用手搀着他，因为我要使他成为一大民族。」	¹⁸Get up, pick the boy up and hold him safely, for I will make him into a great nation."
¹⁹天主于是开了她的眼，她看见了一口水井，遂去将皮囊灌满了水，给孩子喝。	¹⁹God then opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. She went and filled the skin and gave the boy a drink.
²⁰天主与孩子同在，他渐渐长大，住在旷野，成了个弓手。	²⁰God was with the boy. He grew up and made his home in the wilderness and became an expert archer.
²¹他住在帕兰旷野；他母亲由埃及地给他娶了一个妻子。	²¹He lived in the desert of Paran and his mother chose a wife for him from the land of Egypt.
²²那时阿彼默肋客同他的司令非苛耳对亚巴郎说：「在你所作的一切事上，天主常与你同在。	²²At that time Abimelech came with Phicol, the commander of his army, to speak to Abraham, "God is with you in everything you do;
²³现在你在这里要指著天主对我起誓：总不要亏待我和我的子子孙孙。我怎样厚待了你，你也要怎样厚待我和你寄居的地方。」	²³swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my descendants, but instead you will show to me and the country where you are living the same kindness that I have shown to you."
²⁴亚巴郎回答说：「我愿起誓。」	²⁴And Abraham said, "Yes, this I swear."
²⁵亚巴郎为了阿彼默肋客的仆人霸占了一口水井，就责斥阿彼默肋客。	²⁵Then Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well that Abimelech's servants had seized.
²⁶阿彼默肋客回答说：「我不知道谁作了这事，你也没有通知我，我到今天才听说。」	²⁶Abimelech said, "I don't know who has done this; you did not tell me and I only heard about it today."
²⁷亚巴郎遂把牛羊交给阿彼默肋客，二人互相立了约。	²⁷Abraham then took sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech and the two men made a treaty.
²⁸亚巴郎又将羊群中七只母羔羊，另放在一边。	²⁸Abraham set aside seven ewe lambs from the flock.
²⁹阿彼默肋客问亚巴郎说：「将这七只母羔羊另放在一边，请问有什么意思？」	²⁹Abimelech said to him, "Why have you put aside these seven ewe lambs?
³⁰他答说：「你要由我手中接受这七只母羔羊，作我挖了这口水井的凭据。」	³⁰Abraham replied, "Accept these seven lambs from my hand as evidence that I dug this well."
³¹因为他们二人在那里起了誓，为此那地方叫做贝尔舍巴。	³¹So the place was called Beersheba because the two men took an oath there.
³²他们在贝尔舍巴立了约，阿彼默肋客同他的司令非苛耳起身回培肋舍特地去了。	³²After making the treaty at Beersheba, Abimelech went away with Phicol, the commander of his army, and returned to the land of the Philistines.
³³亚巴郎在贝尔舍巴栽了一株柽柳，在那里呼求了上主，永恒天主的名。	³³Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba and there he called on Yahweh, the everlasting God.
³⁴亚巴郎在培肋舍特人地内住了许久。	³⁴And Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines for a long time.
