¹依撒格年纪已老，双目失明，看不见了，遂叫了他的大儿厄撒乌来，对他说：「我儿！」他回答说：「我在这里。」	¹When Isaac was old and his eyes so weak that he could no longer see, he called Esau, his older son, and said to him, "My son." "Here I am," he answered.
²他说：「你看，我已年老，不知道那天就死。	²Isaac continued, "You see I am old and I don't know when I shall die;
³现在，你拿器械、箭囊和弓，往田间去打点猎物，	³so take your weapons, your bow and arrow, go out into the country and hunt some game for me.
⁴照我的嗜好给我作成美味，拿来给我吃，好叫我在未死以前祝福你。」	⁴Then prepare some of the savory food I like and bring it to me so that I may eat and give you my blessing before I die."
⁵依撒格对他的儿子厄撒乌说这话时，黎贝加听见了。厄撒乌就到田间去给父亲打猎，	⁵Now Rebekah was listening when Isaac spoke to his son Esau. When Esau went into the country to hunt game and bring it back,
⁶黎贝加对自己的儿子雅各伯说：「我听见你父亲对你哥哥厄撒乌说：	⁶Rebekah said to her son Jacob, "I heard your father saying to your brother Esau:
⁷你去给我打点猎物来，作成美味，叫我吃了，好在死前当着上主的面祝福你。」	⁷'Bring me some game and prepare food for me that I may eat and bless you before Yahweh before I die.'
⁸现在，我儿，要听从我吩咐你的话。	⁸Now my son, listen and do what I command you.
⁹到羊群里去，给我拿两只肥美的小山羊来，我要照你父亲的嗜好，给他作成美味，	⁹Go to the flock and bring me two fine kids so that I can prepare for your father the food that he likes.
¹⁰你端给父亲吃，好叫他死前祝福你。」	¹⁰You will bring it to your father and he will eat it and give you his blessing before he dies."
¹¹雅各伯对母亲黎贝加说：「但是我哥哥浑身是毛，我却皮肤光滑，	¹¹Jacob said to Rebekah, "My brother Esau is a hairy man and I am smooth-skinned.
¹²万一我父亲摸我，必以为我哄骗他，我必招来咒骂，而不是祝福。」	¹²Perhaps my father will feel me and I will seem to be tricking him and so bring a curse on myself instead of a blessing."
¹³母亲对他说：「我儿，咒骂归于我，你只管听我的话，去给我拿来。」	¹³But his mother said, "Let the curse fall on me, my son! Only do what I tell you; go and get the kids for me."
¹⁴他遂拿了来，交给了他的母亲，他母亲就照他父亲的嗜好作成了美味。	¹⁴So he went and got them and took them to his mother to prepare food that his father liked.
¹⁵黎贝加又将家中所存的大儿厄撒乌最好的衣服，给她小儿雅各伯穿上；	¹⁵Then Rebekah took the best clothes of her elder son Esau that she had in the house and put them on Jacob, her younger son.
¹⁶又用小山羊的皮，包在他的手上和他光滑的颈上，	¹⁶With the goatskin she covered his hands and the smooth part of his neck,
¹⁷然后将自己作好的美味和饼，放在他儿子雅各伯的手里。	¹⁷and she handed to him the bread and food she had prepared.
¹⁸雅各伯来到他父亲前说：「我父！」他答说：「我在这里！我儿，你是谁？」	¹⁸He went to his father and said, "Father!" He answered, "Yes, my son, who is it?"
¹⁹雅各伯对父亲说：「我是你长子厄撒乌。我已照你吩咐的作了。请坐起来，吃我作的野味，好祝福我。」	¹⁹and Jacob said to his father, "It is Esau, your firstborn; I have done what you told me to do. Come, sit up and eat my game so that you may give me your blessing."
²⁰依撒格对他儿子说：「我儿！你怎么这样快就找着了？」雅各伯答说：「因为上主你的天主使我碰得好。」	²⁰Isaac said, "How quick you have been my son!" Jacob said, "Yahweh, your God, guided me."
²¹依撒格对雅各伯说；「我儿！你前来，让我摸摸，看你是不是我儿厄撒乌？」	²¹Isaac said to Jacob, "Come near and let me feel you, my son, and know that it is you, Esau my son, or not."
²²雅各伯就走近他父亲依撒格前；依撒格摸着他说：「声音是雅各伯的声音，手却是厄撒乌的手。」	²²When Jacob drew near to Isaac, his father felt him and said, "The voice is the voice of Jacob but the hands are the hands of Esau."
²³依撒格没有分辨出来，因为他的手，像他哥哥厄撒乌的手一样有毛，就祝福了他。	²³He did not recognize him, for his hands were hairy like the hands of Esau his brother and so he blessed him.
²⁴随后说：「你真是我儿厄撒乌吗？」雅各伯答说：「我是。」	²⁴He asked, "Are you really my son Esau?" and Jacob answered, "I am."
²⁵依撒格说：「我儿！递给我，叫我吃了你作的野味，好祝福你。」雅各伯于是递过去，他吃了；又给他拿了酒来，他也喝了。	²⁵Isaac said, "Bring me some of your game, my son, so that I may eat and give you my blessing." So Jacob brought it to him and he ate. And he brought him wine and he drank.
²⁶他父亲依撒格就对他说：「我儿！你前来吻我。」	²⁶Then his father Isaac said to him, "Come near and kiss me, my son."
²⁷他就前去吻了父亲。他父亲一闻到他衣服上的香气，就祝福他说：「看！我儿子的香气，像上主祝福的肥田的香气。	²⁷So Jacob came near and kissed him. Isaac then caught the smell of his clothes and blessed him, saying, "The smell of my son is like the smell of a field which the Lord has blessed.
²⁸惟愿天主赐与你天上的甘露，土地的肥沃，五谷美酒的丰裕！	²⁸May God give you of the dew of heaven; and of the richness of the earth; and abundance of grain and wine.
²⁹愿众民服事你，万国叩拜你！愿你作你兄弟的主人，你母亲的儿子叩拜你！凡诅咒你的，必受诅咒；凡祝福你的，必受祝福。」	²⁹Let peoples serve you and nations bow down before you. Be lord over your brothers, and let your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone that curses you and blessed be everyone that blesses you!"
³⁰依撒格一祝福了雅各伯，雅各伯刚由他父亲依撒格面前出来，他哥哥厄撒乌打猎回来了。	³⁰When Isaac had finished blessing him and Jacob had just left Isaac's room, Esau came in from hunting.
³¹他也作了美味，给他父亲端来，对他父亲说：「我父！请起来，吃你儿预备的野味，好祝福我。」	³¹He also prepared food and brought it to his father and said to him, "Father, sit up and eat the game your son has prepared, so that you may give me your blessing."
³²他父亲依撒格对他说：「你是谁？」他答说：「我是你儿，你长子厄撒乌。」	³²Isaac said, "Who are you?" "I am your son, your firstborn, Esau."
³³依撒格不禁战栗起来，惊问说：「那么，是谁打了猎物给我送了来？并且在你未来以前，我已吃了，已祝福了他；他从此必蒙祝福。」	³³Isaac trembled violently and said, "Who was it then that hunted game and brought it to me? I ate it all before you came and I blessed him and he will be blessed."
³⁴厄撒乌一听见他父亲说出这话，就放声哀号，对他父亲说：「我父，请你也祝福我！」	³⁴On hearing his father's words, Esau gave a loud and bitter cry and said, "Bless me, too, father."
³⁵父亲答说：「你弟弟用诡计来夺去了你的祝福。」	³⁵But Isaac said, "Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing."
³⁶厄撒乌说：「他不是名叫雅各伯吗？他已两次欺骗了我：以前夺去了我长子的名分，现在又夺去了我的祝福。」继而问说：「你没有给我留下祝福吗？」	³⁶Esau said, "Is it because he is called Jacob that he has supplanted me twice? First he took my birthright and now he has taken my blessing." Then he asked, "Haven't you kept a blessing for me?"
³⁷依撒格回答厄撒乌说：「看，我已立他作你的主人，将所有的兄弟都给他作仆人，将五谷美酒都供给他了。我儿，我还能为你作什么？」	³⁷Isaac answered Esau, "I have made him your lord. I have given him all his brothers as servants; I have provided him with grain and wine. What can I do for you, my son?"
³⁸厄撒乌对父亲说：「我父，你只有一个祝福吗？我父，你也得祝福我。」厄撒乌就放声大哭。	³⁸Esau said to his father, "Have you only one blessing? Father, bless me, too." Then Esau wept aloud.
³⁹他父亲依撒格回答他说：「看，你住的地方必缺乏肥沃的土地，天上的甘露。	³⁹Isaac then gave him this answer, "Your dwelling place shall be far away from the richness of the earth, away from the dew of heaven above.
⁴⁰你要凭仗刀剑生活，要服事你的弟弟，但你一强盛起来，将由你的颈上，摆脱他的束缚。」	⁴⁰You shall live by your sword, and you shall serve your brother; but when you win your freedom you will throw off his yoke from your neck."
⁴¹厄撒乌因为他父亲祝福了雅各伯，便怀恨雅各伯，心下思念说：「为父亲居丧的日期已近，到时我必要杀死我弟弟雅各伯。」	⁴¹Now Esau continued to hate his brother because of the blessing his father had given him and he thought to himself, "The time of mourning for my father is near; I shall then kill my brother Jacob."
⁴²有人告诉了黎贝加她大儿厄撒乌所说的话；她便派人叫了她小儿雅各伯来，对他说：「看，你哥哥厄撒乌想要杀你泄恨。	⁴²When Rebekah was told what her elder son had said, she sent and called her younger son, Jacob, and said to him, "Your brother Esau is consoling himself with the thought of killing you.
⁴³现在，我儿！你得听我的话，起身逃往哈兰我哥哥拉班那里去，	⁴³Now my son, listen to me and flee to Laban, my brother, in Haran.
⁴⁴与他住些时日，直到你哥哥忿怒消失了。	⁴⁴You will stay with him for a time
⁴⁵几时你哥哥对你息了怒，忘了你对他作的事，我就派人去，从那里接你回来。为什么我在一日内要丧失你们两个呢？」	⁴⁵until your brother's fury has cooled; and when he has forgotten his anger and what you did to him, I will send someone to bring you back. Why should I lose both of you on the same day?"
⁴⁶黎贝加就对依撒格说：「为了这两个赫特女人，我厌恶得要死；假使雅各伯也从这地的女人中娶一个像这样的赫特女人为妻，我还活着做什么？」	⁴⁶Rebekah said to Isaac, "I am weary of my life because of the Hittite women. If Jacob marries a woman from this land, a Hittite like these, what value is there left in life for me?"
