| 1当乌齐雅的孙子，约堂的儿子阿哈次为犹大王时，阿兰王勒斤和以色列王勒玛里雅的儿子培卡黑，上来攻打耶路撒冷，但是不能攻陷。 | 1When Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, King Rezin of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, laid siege to Jerusalem but they were unable to capture it. |
| 2有人报告达味家说：「阿兰已经驻扎在厄弗辣因！」君王与人民都胆战心惊，有如风中摇动的树木。 | 2When the news reached the house of David, "Aram's troops are encamped in Ephraim," the heart of the king and the hearts of the people trembled as the trees of the forest tremble before the wind. |
| 3上主对依撒意亚说：「你和你的儿子舍阿尔雅叔布出去，到上池的水沟尽头，即漂工田间的大道上，去会见阿哈次； | 3Yahweh then said to Isaiah: "Go with your son A-remnant-will-return, and meet Ahaz at the end of the aqueduct of the Upper Pool, on the road to the Washerman's Field. |
| 4对他说：你必须审慎，保持镇定，不必畏惧，不要因那两个冒烟的火把头──即勒斤、阿兰和勒玛里雅之子──的怒火而胆怯。 | 4Say to him, Stay calm and fear not; do not lose courage before these two stumps of smoldering firebrands - the fierce anger of Rezin the Aramean and the blazing fury of the son of Remaliah. You know that |
| 5虽然阿兰、厄弗辣因和勒玛里雅的儿子同谋，迫害你说： | 5Aram, Ephraim and Remaliah's son have plotted against Judah, saying: |
| 6我们上犹大去，扰乱她，把她占领过来归于我们，并在那里立塔贝耳的儿子为王； | 6Let us invade and scare it, let us seize it and put the son of Tabeel king over it. |
| 7但是吾主上主却这样说：这事决不能成立，亦不能发生！ | 7But the Lord Yahweh says: It shall not be so, it shall not come to pass. |
| 8因为阿兰的首都是大马士革，大马士革的首领是勒斤； | 8For Damascus is only the head of Aram and Rezin the lord of Damascus. Samaria is only the head of Ephraim and Remaliah's son is only the lord of Samaria. |
| 9厄弗辣因的首都是撒玛黎雅，撒玛黎雅的首领是勒玛里雅的儿子。 | 9Within fifty-six years, Ephraim will be shattered and will no longer be a people. But if you do not stand firm in faith, you, too, will not stand at all." |
| 8【六年或五年以后，阿兰将被消灭，厄弗辣因将要衰败。】 | 10Once again Yahweh addressed Ahaz, |
| 9假使你们不肯相信，你们必然不能存立。」 | 11"Ask for a sign from Yahweh your God, let it come either from the deepest depths or from the heights of heaven." |
| 10上主又对阿哈次说： | 12But Ahaz answered, "I will not ask, I will not put Yahweh to the test." |
| 11「你向上主你的天主要求一个征兆罢！或求诸阴府深处，或求诸上天高处。」 | 13Then Isaiah said, "Now listen, descendants of David. Have you not been satisfied trying the patience of people, that you also try the patience of my God? |
| 12阿哈次回答说：「我不要求，我不愿试探上主。」 | 14Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The Virgin is with child and bears a son and calls his name Immanuel. |
| 13依撒意亚说：「达味的家族，你们听着罢！你们使人厌恶还不够，还要使我的天主厌恶吗？ | 15He will live on curds and honey by the time he learns to refuse evil and choose good. |
| 14因此，吾主要亲自给你们一个征兆：看，有位贞女要怀孕生子，给他起名叫厄玛奴耳。 | 16For before the child knows how to reject evil and cherish virtue, the land of the two kings that you abhor will be deserted. |
| 15到他知道弃恶择善的时候，要吃乳酪和蜂蜜； | 17Yahweh will bring a time much worse than any since Ephraim broke away from Judah. |
| 16因为在这孩子尚未知道弃恶择善以前，你在那两个君王面前所担心的国土，必将荒废。 | 18On that day Yahweh will whistle for flies from the farthest streams of Egypt and for bees from the land of Assyria. |
| 17上主必使患难的日子临于你、你的百姓和你的父家身上；这是从厄弗辣因叛离犹大那一天所未有过的，【即亚述王加祸的日子】。 | 19They will come and settle in the steep ravines, in the clefts of the rocks, on all the bushes, and on every pasture. |
| 18那一日，上主要唤来埃及大河尽头的蝇和亚述境内的蜂， | 20On that day, with a razor hired from beyond the river Yahweh will shave the head and the hair of the legs and the beard as well. |
| 19牠们将要前来，一起落在荒谷、巖穴，以及一切荆棘丛中和一切水沟上。 | 21On that day a man will raise a heifer and a couple of sheep, |
| 20那一日，吾主要用由大河那边借来的剃刀【即亚述王】剃去你的头发和耻毛，连胡须也要刮掉。 | 22and from the abundance of milk those who survive in the land will feed on curds and honey. |
| 21到那一日，人仅能喂养一只牛犊和两只母山羊， | 23On that day every place planted with a thousand vines worth a thousand silver shekels will be covered with briers and thorns. |
| 22因为出奶很多，人将以乳酪为食，因而境内所有的遗民，都将以乳酪和蜂蜜为食。 | 24Men will go there armed with bows and arrows, for the whole country will be covered with briers and thorns. |
| 23到那一日，先前所有种植一千棵葡萄，值一千块银子的地方，必将丛生荆棘和蒺藜。 | 25No one will dare come to all the hills which used to be cultivated with hoe, for fear of briers and thorns. There, cattle will be let loose and sheep left to graze. |
| 24人往那里去，必须携带弓箭，因为遍地都是荆棘和蒺藜。 | 26 |
| 25先前用锄头开垦的山地，没有人敢到那里，因为害怕荆棘蒺藜。那里将成为放牛和羊群践踏的地区。 | 27 |
