| 1犹大王约史雅的儿子约雅金执政第四年，巴比伦王拿步高元年，有关于全犹大人民的话，传给耶肋米亚； | 1This is the word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. |
| 2耶肋米亚先知便将这话转告给全犹大人民，和耶路撒冷所有的居民说： | 2And this word was transmitted by the prophet Jeremiah to all the people of Judah and to all the citizens of Jerusalem: |
| 3「自犹大王阿孟的儿子约史雅执政第十三年，直到今日，已经二十三年，凡上主传给我的话，我都急速告诉了你们，你们却不听。 | 3For twenty-three years, that is, from the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon until today, the word of Yahweh has come to me and I have continuously spoken to you, |
| 4上主不断给你们派来他所有仆人──先知们，你们总是不听，不愿倾耳谛听。 | 4but you would not listen. Besides Yahweh has sent his servants the prophets to you again and again, but you neither listened nor paid attention. |
| 5他们说：你们应各自离弃自己的邪道，和自己邪恶的行为，好能住在上主从永远到永远赐给了你们和你们祖先的地域里； | 5They said, 'Turn from your evil ways and repent of your wicked deeds that you may live in the land that Yahweh gave to you and your fathers forever and ever. |
| 6不要追随其他的神祇，事奉朝拜，以你们手做的东西来激怒我，你们就不致遭遇灾祸。 | 6Do not turn after other gods to serve and worship them. Do not provoke my anger with these things your own hands have made, and I will do you no harm.' |
| 7你们没有听从我──上主的断语──竟以你们手做的东西来激怒我，自招祸患。 | 7But you refused to listen - it is Yahweh who speaks - and provoked my anger with these gods you yourselves have made to your own detriment. |
| 8为此，万军的上主这样说：由于你们不听我的话， | 8That is why Yahweh God of hosts says to you: Since you have not listened to what I said, |
| 9看，我必遣人召来北方的一切种族──上主的断语──和我的仆人巴比伦王拿步高来进攻这地方，和这地方的居民，以及四周所有的民族；我要彻底消灭，任其荒凉，永远成为笑柄和羞辱的对象。 | 9I will summon all the clans of the north - it is Yahweh who speaks - and my steward Nebuchadnezzar will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy these people, making them desolate, an object of ridicule, an everlasting ruins. |
| 10此外，我还要息灭他们中欢乐喜庆的歌声，新郎和新娘的欢笑声，磨声和灯光。 | 10I will banish from them every sound of joy and happiness, the song of the bride and bridegroom, the noise of the mill and the light of the lamp. |

| 15上主，以色列的天主这样对我说：「你从我手中接过这杯忿怒酒去，让我派你所到的各民族喝。 | 15Yahweh, the God of Israel, instructed me, "Take from my hand this cup of wine and let all the nations to whom I send you drink from it. |
| 16他们必要喝，必要在我给他们派来的刀剑前，蹒跚发狂。」 | 16They will drink and stagger and lose control of their minds before the sword I am sending among them." |
| 17我便从上主手中接过杯来，给了上主派我所到的各民族喝： | 17So I took the cup from Yahweh's hand and made all the nations to whom he sent me drink from it: |
| 18给耶路撒冷和犹大各城市，以及城中的君王和首长喝，使她们荒芜凄凉，受人嘲笑诅咒，像今日一样； | 18to bring them in ruins, a desolation which is an object of ridicule and curses, as they are today. |
| 19给埃及王法郎和他的臣仆王侯并全体人民； | 19Then I gave it to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to his ministers, his princes and all his people, to all the countries of the west, |
| 20给所有的杂族，胡兹地和培肋舍特地的众君王；给阿市刻隆、迦萨、厄刻龙和阿市多得的遗民； | 20to all the kings of Uz, to all the kings of the Philistines in Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron and those left at Ashdod; |
| 21给厄东、摩阿布和阿孟子民； | 21to all the people of Edom, Moab and Ammon; |
| 22给提洛、漆冬和海外岛屿的众君王； | 22all the kings of Tyre and Sidon: the kings of the coastlands across the sea; |
| 23给德丹、特玛、步次和凡剃除鬓发的人； | 23Deda, Tama, Buz and |
| 24给阿剌伯和在沙漠居往的杂族的众君王； | 24all the kings of Arabia and the kings of the west and the kings of those who live in the desert; |
| 25给齐默黎、厄蓝和玛待的众君王； | 25all the kings of Zimri, Elim and Media and |
| 26给北方彼此相离或远或近的众君王，以及地面上所有的王国喝；最后喝的，是舍沙客的君王。 | 26all the kings of the north, far and near, one after the other; all the kings that are found on the face of the earth! And after them the king of Babylon shall drink it! |
| 27你应对他们说：「万军的上主，以色列的天主这样说：你们要喝，喝醉，呕吐，倒在我给你们派来的刀剑前，再不起来。 | 27You will say to them, "This is the message of Yahweh the God of hosts and the God of Israel: 'Drink, get drunk, vomit, fall without raising again in front of the sword I am sending against you.' |
| 28假使他们不肯从你手中取过杯去喝，你就对他们说：万军的上主这样说：你们必须喝。 | 28But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, tell them, 'Yahweh the God of hosts has spoken: You also must drink. |
| 29因为，看，我开始降罚归我名下的城市，而你们竟想全然免罚吗？你们决不能免罚，因为我要给地上所有的居民招来刀剑──万军上主的断语。 | 29When you see that I am punishing first the city where my Name rests, do you think you will be spared? No, you will not, for I am personally bringing down a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth - it is Yahweh God of hosts who speaks.' |
| 30你应给他们预言这一切话，对他们说：上主从高处作狮吼，从他的圣所发出他的声音，对自己的牧场厉声怒号，对地上所有的居民，像榨葡萄的人一样喊叫。 | 30You will communicate all these words to them and say, "Yahweh roars on high and from his holy dwelling threatens all the inhabitants of the world. His mighty roar echoes to the farthest ends of the earth. |
| 31一阵喧哗嘈杂，直至地极，因为上主与万民有了争讼，与一切有血肉的人，进行审判，将恶人交给刀剑──上主的断语── | 31For Yahweh judges all the nations and passes sentence against all humankind, and he abandons the wicked to the sword - word of Yahweh." |
| 32万军的上主这样说：看，各国相继发生灾祸，由地极卷来强烈的风暴。 | 32Yahweh, God of hosts, says, "See, disaster spreads from nation to nation. A storm arises from the ends of the earth. |
| 33到了那一天，从地极到地极，遍是上主杀戮的人，没有人哀悼、收殓、埋葬，有如地面上的粪土。 | 33On that day Yahweh's victims will be spread from one end of the earth to the other. No one will mourn for them; no one will gather them up or bury them - they will be like dung on the soil! |
| 34为人牧者，你们应哭泣哀号！为羊群领导者，你们应在灰尘中辗转！因为你们的日期已满，你们要被宰杀，快要被宰割，像精选的公羊。 | 34Howl, shepherds, and lament! Roll in the dust you leaders of flocks for the day of slaughter and dispersal has come for you and you will fall like fattened rams. |
| 35为人牧者，无路可逃；为羊群领导者，无法脱身。 | 35The shepherds will find no refuge and the leaders of the the flocks will not be able to escape. |
| 36听啊！为人牧者在哀号，为羊群领导者在哭泣，因为上主摧毁了他们的牧场。 | 36The shepherds cry out and the leaders of flocks wail, |
| 37宁静的草场，因上主的怒燄，已成一片荒凉。 | 37for Yahweh lays waste the grasslands, and the pastures are silent because of the fury of Yahweh's anger. |
| 38null | 38Like a lion he leaves his lair; because of his fierce wrath the land has been stricken by the sword and has become a wasteland." |
