约伯传	Job
¹银有出产之地，金有冶炼之所。	¹There is a silver mine and a place where gold is refined.
²铁由土中掘出，铜自石中镕炼。	²Iron is taken from earth and copper is smelted from ore.
³人给黑暗制定了界限，探讨幽暗阴晦的坚石，挖至地层深处。	³Man tries to conquer darkness, piercing to the uttermost depths in darkness for the gloomy stone.
⁴在无人居住之处开凿矿穴，上面过路的人，也想不到他们远离人间，身悬半空，摇摆不定。	⁴Strange people cut a shaft in places remote and long forgotten, and there they labor, dangling and swaying.
⁵地上出产食粮，地下有火翻腾。	⁵The earth which produces food is plowed up as if by fire.
⁶那里的石头尽是碧玉，尘沙尽是金沙。	⁶Sapphires come from its rocks, gold nuggets from its dust.
⁷矿中的幽径，猛禽不知，鹰眼未见。	⁷No bird of prey knows the hidden path, no falcon's eye has seen it yet.
⁸野兽未践踏，猛狮未经过。	⁸No proud beast has trodden it, no prowling lion has passed over it.
⁹人伸手击打燧石，山基为之震撼动摇。	⁹Man attacks the flinty rocks, upturns mountains by their roots.
¹⁰在巖石中开凿隧道，所有珍宝尽入眼帘。	¹⁰Tunneling through earth's layers, he sees all its treasures.
¹¹探察江河之源流，使宝藏显露于外。	¹¹He searches the source of rivers, and brings hidden things to light.
¹²但是智慧在那里寻觅，那里是明智之所在？	¹²But where does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell?
¹³智慧的道路，人不认识，在众生界寻不到她。	¹³Man has known no way to wisdom; it is not found in the land of the living.
¹⁴深渊说：「她不在我这里。」海洋说：「她不与我同域。」	¹⁴The deep says, "It is not in me"; the sea says, "It is not with me."
¹⁵她非精金所能购买，也不能称量银子作她的代价。	¹⁵It cannot be purchased with the finest gold, nor can its price be weighed in silver.
¹⁶敖非尔金不能与她较量，宝石和碧玉也不能与她相比。	¹⁶It cannot be bought with the gold of Ophir, nor with precious onyx or sapphire.
¹⁷黄金与琉璃不能与她同列，纯金的器皿也不能与她交换。	¹⁷It is beyond comparison with gold or crystal; its worth is unmatched by any golden vessel.
¹⁸珊瑚与水晶都不足论，取得智慧胜过取得珍珠。	¹⁸Not worth mentioning are coral and jasper; the price of wisdom is above the biggest pearl.
¹⁹雇士的黄玉不足与她相比，纯金也不能与她较量。	¹⁹The topaz of Cush cannot equal it; it cannot be valued in pure gold.
²⁰究竟智慧由何处而来，那里是明智之所在？	²⁰Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell?
²¹在众生的眼目未曾见过，天空的飞鸟也未发现。	²¹It is hidden from the eyes of all the living, concealed from the birds in the sky.
²²「毁灭」与「死亡」都说：「我们只风闻过她的声望。」	²²Destruction and Death can only say, "We have heard of it."
²³惟独天主认识她的道路，惟有他知道她的处所。	²³God alone knows the way to wisdom, his eye enters its dwelling place.
²⁴因为惟有他观察地极，俯视天下的一切。	²⁴When he looked to the ends of the earth, and watched everything under the heavens,
²⁵当他划定风的重量，规定水的定量，	²⁵when he gave the wind its force and measured out the waters,
²⁶厘定下雨的季节，规定雷电的路线时，	²⁶when he set a bound for the rain and a way for the thunder and lightning,
²⁷他已见了她，讲述了她，立定了她，考察了她。	²⁷then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he established it, knowing it in depth.
²⁸然后对人说：「看，敬畏上主，就是智慧；远离邪恶，就是明智。」	²⁸And to man he said: The fear of the Lord is wisdom; avoiding evil is understanding.
