| 1厄里乌又接着说： | 1Elihu continued and said: |
| 2你说过：「我在天主前是正义的。」你想这话合理吗？ | 2Do you presume you are right and innocent before God, |
| 3你还说过：「这与你何干？我若犯罪，我对你做了什么？」 | 3when you say, "What is it to you, am I doing you harm with my sins?" |
| 4我今答复你，以及和你在一起的友人。 | 4I will answer you and your friends as well. |
| 5请你仰视上天，且要静观，细看高于你的苍天。 | 5Look up to the sky and see, gaze at the clouds above. |
| 6你若犯罪，为他有什么害处？你若作恶多端，又能加害他什么？ | 6If you sin, what is that for God? Do your many offenses hurt him? |
| 7如果你为人正义，为他又有何益？或者他由你手中获得什么？ | 7If you are just, what do you give him? or what does he receive from your hand? |
| 8你的恶行只能加害与你类似的人，你的正义也只能有益于世人。 | 8It's a man like yourself that your sin touches, a son of man that your justice affects. |
| 9人因受暴虐过甚，必要哀号；因受强权的压迫，必要呼吁。 | 9Men cry out when greatly oppressed; they plead for relief under the tyrant's reign. |
| 10但是没有人说：「那造成我们，使人夜间欢唱， | 10But no one says, "Where is God, my Maker, whose songs of jubilation are heard in the night, |
| 11使我们比地上的走兽更聪明，使我们比天上的飞鸟更有智慧的天主在那里？」 | 11who teaches us through the beasts of the earth, who makes us wise through the birds of the air?" |
| 12他们虽呼喊，天主却不答应，这是因为恶人傲慢的原故。 | 12This is why he does not answer when they cry out: because of man's arrogance. |
| 13他们空喊乱叫，天主决不俯听，全能者决不垂视。 | 13In vain! God does not listen, the Almighty takes no heed of it. |
| 14何况你说过：「你看不见他；但你的案件已放在他面前，你应等待他！」 | 14How much less then will he listen when you say you do not see him and wait, for your case is before him! |
| 15你还说过：「他没有发怒施罚，似乎不很理会罪过。」 | 15And you say that though he is angry he does not know how to punish for he has taken no notice of wickedness. |
| 16的确，约伯开口尽说空话；由于无知，说了许多妄言。 | 16So Job opens his mouth in empty talk, without knowledge he multiplies words. |
