约伯传	Job
¹为此我心战栗，跳离它的原位。	¹This is why my heart pounds and leaps from its place.
²你们且细听天主的怒吼声，听那从他口中发出的巨响。	²Listen to the thunder of his voice as it comes rumbling from his mouth.
³他令闪电炫耀天下，使之照射地极；	³Under the heavens, he hurls his lightning, sending it to the ends of the earth.
⁴接着是雷声隆隆，那是天主威严之声；他的巨声一响，没有什么能够阻止。	⁴Then comes the sound of God's roar- the majestic peal of his thunder. He does not check his thunderbolts until his voice has fully resounded.
⁵天主每以巨响施行奇事，做出我们莫测的事。	⁵God thunders and his voice works marvels; he does great things we cannot perceive.
⁶他命令雪说：「落在大地上！」对暴雨说：「倾盆而降！」	⁶He says to the snow, "Fall on the earth"; and to the rainshower, "Be a strong downpour."
⁷人人都停止活动，为叫人知道，这是他的作为。	⁷So he keeps people under cover to let them acknowledge his work.
⁸野兽逃回洞穴，卧于自己的窝中。	⁸Wild beasts go back into their lairs and remain quietly in their dens.
⁹暴风来自南极密宫，严寒出自极北之地。	⁹The storm comes out from its chamber, and the cold from the driving winds.
¹⁰天主嘘气成冰，使大水凝成一片。	¹⁰The breath of God forms ice, and the broad waters become frozen.
¹¹他使云雾满涵湿气，使闪光穿过乌云。	¹¹With thunderbolts he loads the clouds, and through them scatters his lightning.
¹²雷电照他的指示旋转，全照他的命令实行于地面，	¹²At his direction they do their rounds, upon the face of the habitable world.
¹³或为惩戒大地，或为施行恩惠。	¹³He commands nature to punish men, to water his land or to show his mercy.
¹⁴约伯啊！你且侧耳细听这事，立著沈思天主的奇事！	¹⁴Listen to this, O Job: pause and consider God's marvels.
¹⁵你岂能知道天主怎样发命，怎样使云中电光闪烁？	¹⁵Do you know how he controls the clouds, how he makes his lightning flash?
¹⁶云怎样浮动，全知者的奇妙化工，你岂能明白？	¹⁶Do you know how the clouds hang poised, all these wonders wrought by his perfect knowledge?
¹⁷当南风吹起，大地镇静时，你的衣服岂不是发暖？	¹⁷You who swelter in your clothes when the earth lies still under the south wind,
¹⁸你岂能同他展开苍天，使它坚固如铸成的铜镜？	¹⁸can you, like him, spread out the skies, hard as a mirror of molten bronze?
¹⁹我们昏愚，不能讲话，请教训我们怎样答复他。	¹⁹Teach us then what we shall say to him; we cannot draw up our case because of darkness.
²⁰我说话时，能给他讲述些什么新事？世人说话后，岂算是告诉他一项新闻？	²⁰Does it take an angel to bring this to God's attention?
²¹人现今看不见阳光照耀天空，除非等到风过天晴。	²¹A while ago we could not see the light and the clouds darkened the sky, but the storm has just cast them out.
²²金光来自北方，天主的左右有严威可怕的异光。	²²A blaze comes from the north, a dreadful glory around God.
²³全能者是我们不可接近的，他的能力和正义，高超绝伦；他公义正道，决不欺压。	²³The Almighty is beyond our reach; exalted in power, great in judgment; the Master of justice oppresses no one.
²⁴所以人应敬畏他；但那心中自以为聪慧的，他却不眷顾。	²⁴Therefore, people revere him; wise men are nothing in his sight.
