| 1逾越节前六天，耶稣来到伯达尼，就是耶稣从死者中唤起拉匝禄的地方。 | 1Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany where he had raised Lazarus, the dead man, to life. |
| 2有人在那里为他摆设了晚宴，玛尔大伺候，而拉匝禄也是和耶稣一起坐席的一位。 | 2Now they gave a dinner for him, and while Martha waited on them, Lazarus sat at the table with Jesus. |
| 3那时，玛利亚拿了一斤极珍贵的纯「拿尔多」香液，敷抹了耶稣的脚，并用自己的头发擦乾，屋里便充满了香液的气味──。 | 3Then Mary took a pound of costly perfume made from genuine nard and anointed the feet of Jesus, wiping them with her hair. And the whole house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. |
| 4那要负卖耶稣的依斯加略犹达斯──即他的一个门徒──便说： | 4Judas, son of Simon Iscariot - the disciple who was to betray Jesus - remarked, |
| 5「为什么不把这香液去卖三百块『德纳』，施舍给穷人呢？」 | 5"This perfume could have been sold for three hundred silver coins and turned over to the poor." |
| 6他说这话，并不是因为他关心穷人，只因为他是个贼，掌管钱囊，常偷取其中所存放的。 | 6Judas, indeed, had no concern for the poor; he was a thief and as he held the common purse, he used to help himself to the funds. |
| 7耶稣就说：「由她罢！这原是她为我安葬之日而保存的。 | 7But Jesus spoke up, "Leave her alone. Was she not keeping it for the day of my burial? |
| 8你们常有穷人和你们在一起；至于我，你们却不常有。」 | 8(The poor you always have with you, but you will not always have me.)" |
| 9有许多犹太人听说耶稣在那里，就来了，不但是为耶稣，也是为看他从死者中所唤起的拉匝禄。 | 9Many Jews heard that Jesus was there and they came, not only because of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus whom he had raised from the dead. |
| 10为此，司祭长议决连拉匝禄也要杀掉， | 10So the chief priests thought about killing Lazarus as well, |
| 11因为有许多犹太人为了拉匝禄的缘故，离开他们，而信从了耶稣。 | 11for many of the Jews were drifting away because of him and believing in Jesus. |
| 12第二天，来过节的群众，听说耶稣来到耶路撒冷， | 12The next day many people who had come for the festival heard that Jesus was to enter Jerusalem. |
| 13便拿了棕榈枝，出去迎接他，喊说：「贺三纳！因上主之名而来的，以色列的君王，应受赞颂。」 | 13So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him. And they cried out, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel!" |
| 14耶稣找了一匹小驴，就骑上去，正如经上所记载的： | 14Jesus found a donkey and sat upon it, as Scripture says: |
| 15「熙雍女子，不要害怕！看，你的君王骑着驴驹来了！」 | 15Do not fear, city of Zion, see your king is coming sitting on the colt of a donkey. |
| 16起初他的门徒也没有明白这些事，然而，当耶稣受光荣以后，他们才想起这些话是指着他而记载的。为此，他们就这样对他做 了。 | 16The disciples were not aware of this at first, but after Jesus was glorified, they remembered and realized that this had been written of him and that they themselves had taken part in it. |
| 17当耶稣叫拉匝禄从坟墓中出来，由死者中唤起他时，那时同他在一起的众人，都为所见的作证； | 17The people who came with him bore witness and told how he had called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead. |
| 18因此，有一群人去迎接他，因为他们听说他行了这个神迹； | 18It was because of this miraculous sign which Jesus had given that so many people welcomed him. |
| 19于是法利塞人便彼此说：「看，你们一无所成！瞧，全世界都跟他去了。」 | 19In the meantime the Pharisees said to one another, "We are getting nowhere; the whole world has gone after him." |
| 20在那些上来过节，崇拜天主的人中，有些希腊人。 | 20There were some Greeks who had come up to Jerusalem to worship during the feast. |
| 21他们来到加里肋亚贝特赛达人斐理伯前，请求他说：「先生！我们愿拜见耶稣。」 | 21They approached Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus." |
| 22斐理伯就去告诉安德肋，然后安德肋和斐理伯便来告诉耶稣。 | 22Philip went to Andrew and the two of them told Jesus. |
| 23耶稣开口向他们说：「人子要受光荣的时辰到了。 | 23Then Jesus said, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. |
| 24我实实在在告诉你们：一粒麦子如果不落在地里死了，仍只是一粒；如果死了，才结出许多子粒来。 | 24Truly, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much fruit. |
| 25爱惜自己性命的，必要丧失性命；在现世憎恨自己性命的，必要保存性命入于永生。 | 25Those who love their life destroy it, and those who despise their life in this world keep it for everlasting life. |
| 26谁若事奉我，就当跟随我；如此，我在那里，我的仆人也要在那里；谁若事奉我，我父必要尊重他。 | 26Whoever wants to serve me, let him follow me and wherever I am, there shall my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. |
| 27现在我心神烦乱，我可说什么呢？我说：父啊！救我脱离这时辰罢？但正是为此，我才到了这时辰。 | 27Now my soul is in distress. Shall I say: 'Father, save me from this hour'? But, I have come to this hour to face all this. |
| 28父啊！光荣你的名罢！」当时有声音来自天上：「我已光荣了我的名，我还要光荣。」 | 28Father, glorify your Name!" Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it and I will glorify it again." |
| 29在场听见的群众，便说：「这是打雷。」另有人说：「是天使同他说话。」 | 29People standing there heard something and said it was thunder; but others said, "An angel was speaking to him." |
| 30耶稣回答说：「这声音不是为我而来，而是为你们。 | 30Then Jesus declared, "This voice did not come for my sake but for yours; |
| 31现在就是这世界应受审判的时候，现在这世界的元首就要被赶出去； | 31now sentence is being passed on this world; now the ruler of this world is to be cast down. |
| 32至于我，当我从地上被举起来时，便要吸引众人来归向我。」 | 32And when I am lifted up from the earth, I shall draw all to myself." |
| 33他说这话，是表明他要以怎样的死而死。 | 33With these words Jesus referred to the kind of death he was to die. |
| 34于是群众回答他说：「我们从《法律》上知道：默西亚要存留到永远；你怎么说：人子必须被举起呢？这个人子是谁？」 | 34The crowd answered him, "We have been told by the Law that the Messiah stands forever. How can you say that the Son of Man shall be lifted up? What kind of Son of Man is this?" |
| 35耶稣遂给他们说：「光在你们中间还有片刻。你们趁着还有光的时候，应该行走，免得黑暗笼罩了你们。那在黑暗中行走的，不知道往那里去。 | 35Jesus said to them, "The light will be with you a little longer. Walk while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you. If you walk in the darkness you do not know where you are going. |
| 36几时你们还有光，应当信从光，好成为光明之子。」耶稣讲完了这些话，就躲开他们，隐藏去了。 | 36While you have the light, believe in the light and become children of light." After Jesus had said this, he withdrew and kept himself hidden. |
| 37耶稣虽然在他们面前行了这么多的神迹，他们仍然不信他； | 37Even though Jesus had done so many miraculous signs among them, they didn't believe in him. |
| 38这正应验了依撒意亚先知所说的话：「上主！有谁会相信我们的报道呢？上主的手臂又向谁显示了出来呢？」 | 38Indeed the words spoken by the prophet Isaiah had to be fulfilled: Lord, who has believed what we proclaimed? To whom have the ways of God the Savior been made known? |
| 39他们不能信，因为依撒意亚又说过： | 39They could not believe. Isaiah had said elsewhere: |
| 40「上主使他们瞎了眼，使他们硬了心，免得他们眼睛看见，心里觉悟而悔改，使我治好他们。」 | 40He let their eyes become blind and their hearts hard, so that they could neither see nor understand, nor be converted - otherwise I would have healed them. |
| 41依撒意亚因为看见了他的光荣，所以指着他讲了这话。 | 41Isaiah said this when he saw His Glory, and his words refer to Him. |
| 42事虽如此，但在首领中，仍有许多人信从了耶稣，只为了法利塞人而不敢明认，免得被逐出会堂， | 42Many of them, however, believed in Jesus, even among the rulers, but they did not acknowledge him because of the Pharisees, lest they be put out of the Jewish community. |
| 43因为他们喜爱世人的光荣，胜过天主的光荣。 | 43They preferred to be approved by people rather than by God. |
| 44耶稣呼喊说：「信我的，不是信我，而是信那派遣我来的； | 44Yet Jesus had said, and even cried out, "Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. |
| 45看见我的，也就是看见那派遣我来的。 | 45And whoever sees me, sees him who sent me. |
| 46我身为光明，来到了世界上，使凡信我的，不留在黑暗中。 | 46I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. |
| 47无论谁，若听我的话而不遵行，我不审判他，因为我不是为审判世界而来，乃是为拯救世界。 | 47If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I am not the one to condemn him; for I have come, not to condemn the world, but to save the world. |
| 48拒绝我，及不接受我话的，自有审判他的：就是我所说的话，要在末日审判他。 | 48The one who rejects me, and does not receive my word, already has a judge: the very word I have spoken will condemn him on the last day. |
| 49因为我没有凭我自己说话，而是派遣我来的父，他给我出了命，叫我该说什么，该讲什么。 | 49For I have not spoken on my own authority; the Father who sent me has instructed me in what to say and how to speak. |
| 50我知道他的命令就是永生；所以，我所讲论的，全是依照父对我所说的而讲论的。」 | 50I know that his commandment is eternal life, and that is why the message I give, I give as the Father instructed me." |
