哀歌	Lamentations
¹在上主盛怒的鞭责下，我成了受尽痛苦的人；	¹I am a man who has known calamity from the rod of his wrath;
²他引我走入黑暗，不见光明；	²he has driven and brought me into darkness, not into the light.
³且终日再三再四，伸手与我为敌；	³He turns his hand against me alone, all the day long, again and again.
⁴他使我肌肤枯瘦，折断我的骨头；	⁴He has worn away my flesh and skin; he has broken all my bones.
⁵他在我四周筑起围墙，用毒草和痛苦环绕我，	⁵He assails me and surrounds me with tribulation and bitterness.
⁶让我居住在黑暗之中，好像久已死去的人。	⁶He leaves me to dwell in darkness, like those who have long been dead.
⁷他用垣墙围困我，不能逃脱；并且加重我的桎梏；	⁷He has walled me in without escape; he has weighed me down with chains.
⁸我呼吁求救时，他却掩耳不听我的祈祷。	⁸I could not even cry for help, for he has stopped my prayer.
⁹他用方石堵住了我的去路，阻塞了我的行径。	⁹He bars my way with stones and left me helplessly alone.
¹⁰上主之于我，像是一只潜伏的狗熊，是一头藏匿的狮子，	¹⁰Like a bear lying in ambush, like a lion waiting for its prey,
¹¹他把我拖到路旁，扑捉撕裂，加以摧残；	¹¹he lunged at me, tore me to pieces, and left me alone and helpless.
¹²又拉开他的弓，瞄准我，把我当作众矢之的。	¹²Then he drew his bow and aimed his arrow at me.
¹³他用箭囊的箭，射穿了我的双腰；	¹³He pierced my sides with arrows from his quiver.
¹⁴使我成了万民的笑柄，终日受他们的嘲笑；	¹⁴I have become a laughingstock, a topic of songs for all the peoples.
¹⁵他使我饱食苦菜，醉饮苦酒。	¹⁵He has sated me with bitter food; he has made me drunk with wormwood.
¹⁶他用砂砾破碎我的牙齿，用灰尘给我充饥。	¹⁶He has broken my teeth with gravel and thrown me down in the ashes.
¹⁷他除去了我心中的平安，我已经忘记了一切幸福；	¹⁷He has deprived my soul of peace, till I have forgotten happiness.
¹⁸于是我说：「我的光荣已经消逝，对上主的希望也已经幻灭。」	¹⁸Now I say, "Gone are my hopes and all my confidence in the Lord."
¹⁹我回忆着我的困厄和痛苦，尽是茹苦含辛！	¹⁹Recalling my affliction and homelessness is wormwood and gall.
²⁰我的心越回想，越觉沮丧。	²⁰Thinking it over and over makes my soul downcast.
²¹但是我必要追念这事，以求获得希望：	²¹But this, when I ponder, is what gives me hope:
²²上主的慈爱，永无止境；他的仁慈，无穷无尽。	²²Yahweh's love abides unceasingly. His compassion is never consumed;
²³你的仁慈，朝朝常新；你的忠信，浩大无垠！	²³every morning it is renewed. And his love remains ever faithful.
²⁴我心中知道：上主是我的福分；因此，我必信赖他。	²⁴"My portion is Yahweh," says my soul. "On him shall I rely."
²⁵上主对信赖他和寻求他的人，是慈善的。	²⁵Yahweh is good to those who hope in him, to souls who search for him.
²⁶最好是静待上主的救援，	²⁶It is rewarding to wait in silence for the Lord's salvation.
²⁷人最好是自幼背负上主的重轭，	²⁷It is good for man to bear the yoke from his youth.
²⁸默然独坐，因为是上主加于他的轭；	²⁸Let him sit alone in silence when Yahweh fastens the yoke on him.
²⁹他该把自己的口贴近尘埃，这样或者还有希望；	²⁹Let him put his lips to the dust there may still be hope.
³⁰向打他的人，送上面颊，饱受凌辱。	³⁰Let him offer his cheek to be struck; let him be overwhelmed with insult.
³¹因为上主决不会永远把人遗弃；	³¹For it is not forever that the Lord rejects man.
³²纵使惩罚，他必按照自己豊厚的慈爱，而加以怜悯。	³²In the abundance of his love he punishes, but has compassion.
³³因为他苛待和惩罚世人，原不是出于他的心愿。	³³For he does not willingly abase or afflict the human race.
³⁴将世上所有的俘虏，都践踏在脚下，	³⁴To trample underfoot the prisoners of the land,
³⁵在至上者前剥夺人的权利，	³⁵to deny a man his rights in the presence of the Most High,
³⁶与人争讼时，欺压他人：难道上主看不见？	³⁶to deprive people of justice - the Lord does not approve of this.
³⁷若非上主有命，谁能言出即成呢？	³⁷Who can command and execute what the Lord has not willed?
³⁸吉凶祸福，难道不是出自至上者之口？	³⁸From the mouth of the Most High come all things, good or bad.
³⁹人生在世，为自己的罪受罚，为甚么还叫苦？	³⁹Why should then mortals complain when punished for their sin?
⁴⁰我们应检讨考察我们的行为，回头归向上主！	⁴⁰Let us search and examine our ways and return to the Lord.
⁴¹应向天上的大主，双手奉上我们的心！	⁴¹Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven, and say:
⁴²正因为我们犯罪背命，你才没有宽恕。	⁴²"We have sinned and rebelled, and you have not forgiven us.
⁴³你藏在盛怒之中，追击我们，杀死我们，毫不留情。	⁴³Clothed in anger you have pursued us without mercy.
⁴⁴你隐在浓云深处，哀祷不能上达。	⁴⁴You have wrapped yourself in clouds so that no prayer can reach you.
⁴⁵你使我们在万民中，成了尘垢和废物。	⁴⁵You have reduced us to dust and refuse among the nations.
⁴⁶我们所有的仇人，都向我们大张其口。	⁴⁶Our foes have opened wide their mouths against us.
⁴⁷为我们只有恐怖和陷阱，破坏和灭亡。	⁴⁷Terror is our lot: pitfall, ruin and desolation.
⁴⁸为了我女儿──人民的灭亡，我的眼泪涌流如江河。	⁴⁸Great is my grief over the downfall of the daughter of my people.
⁴⁹我的眼泪涌流不止，始终不停，	⁴⁹No respite, no relief, as my tears flow ceaselessly,
⁵⁰直到上主从天垂顾怜视，	⁵⁰till the Lord looks down from heaven and sees.
⁵¹因我城中的一切女儿，使我触目伤心。	⁵¹My soul will grieve in torment for the women of my city.
⁵²我的仇人无故追捕我，像猎取飞鸟一样；	⁵²Like a bird I have been hunted by my foes without cause.
⁵³他们将我投入坑穴之中，把石块掷在我身上；	⁵³They flung me alive into a pit and cast stones at me.
⁵⁴水淹没了我的头顶，我想：「我要死了！」	⁵⁴As the waters closed over my head, I thought I would never again live.
⁵⁵上主，我从坑穴深处，呼号你的圣名；	⁵⁵Out of the depths I called on your name, O Yahweh.
⁵⁶你曾俯听过我的呼声，对我的哀祷，不要掩耳不闻。	⁵⁶You heard; you have not been deaf to my cry for relief.
⁵⁷在我呼号你的那一天，愿你走近而对我说：「不要害怕！」	⁵⁷When I called, you even came near and told me not to fear.
⁵⁸上主，你辩护了我的案件，赎回我的性命。	⁵⁸O Lord, you took up my case and redeemed my life.
⁵⁹上主，你见我遭受冤屈，你替我伸了冤，	⁵⁹You have seen the wrong they did me, uphold my cause!
⁶⁰你看见了他们对我的种种仇恨和阴谋。	⁶⁰You have seen how resentfully they plotted to destroy my life.
⁶¹上主，你听见了他们加于我的种种侮辱和阴谋，	⁶¹O Yahweh, you have heard the insults hurled at me, their insidious plots;
⁶²你也听见了反对我者的诽谤，和他们终日对我的企图。	⁶²You have been aware of their thoughts, their muttering against me all day long.
⁶³你看！他们或坐或立，我始终是他们嘲笑的对象。	⁶³Look at them - sitting or standing - mocking me in their song!
⁶⁴上主，求你按照他们双手的作为，报复他们；	⁶⁴Repay them as they deserve, according to their deeds, O Yahweh.
⁶⁵求你使他们的心思顽固，并诅咒他们。	⁶⁵Harden their hearts; hold them under your curse.
⁶⁶上主，求你愤怒地追击他们，将他们由普天之下除掉。	⁶⁶Pursue and destroy them in fury from under the heavens, O Yahweh.
