| 1两天后就是逾越节和无酵节，司祭长和经师设法要怎样用诡计捉拿耶稣，而把他杀害， | 1It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the teachers of the Law were looking craftily for a way to arrest Jesus and put him to death; |
| 2因为他们说：「不要在庆节内，怕民间发生暴动。」 | 2for they said, "Not during the Festival, or there might be trouble among the people." |
| 3当耶稣在伯达尼癞病人西满家里，正坐席的时候，来了一个女人，拿着一玉瓶珍贵的纯「纳尔多」香液。她打破玉瓶，就倒在耶稣头上。 | 3Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper. As he was reclining at dinner, a woman entered carrying a precious jar of expensive perfume made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfumed oil on Jesus' head. |
| 4有些人颇不满意，就彼此说：「为什么要这样浪费香液？ | 4Then some of them became angry and said, "What a useless waste of perfume. |
| 5这香液原可以卖三百多块银钱，施舍给穷人！」他们对那女人很生气。 | 5It could have been sold for more than three hundred silver coins and the money given to the poor." And they criticized her. |
| 6耶稣却说：「由她罢！你们为什么叫她难受？她在我身上作了一件善事， | 6But Jesus said, "Let her alone; why are you troubling her? What she has just done for me is a very charitable work. |
| 7因为你们常有穷人同你们在一起，你们几时愿意，就能给他们行善；但是我，你们却不常有。 | 7At any time you can help the poor, for you always have them with you, but you will not have me forever. |
| 8她已做了她能做的：提前傅抹了我的身体，是为安葬之事。 | 8This woman has done what was hers to do, she has anointed my body beforehand for my burial. |
| 9我实在告诉你们：将来福音无论传到全世界什么地方，必要述说她所作的事，来记念她。」 | 9Truly, I say to you, wherever the Good News is proclaimed, and this will be throughout the world, what she has done will be told in praise of her." |
| 10于是，那十二人中之一，犹达斯依斯加略，去见司祭长，要把耶稣交与他们。 | 10Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went off to the chief priests in order to betray Jesus to them. |
| 11他们听了以后，不胜欣喜，许下给他银钱；他就找寻良机，将耶稣交出。 | 11On hearing him they were excited and promised to give him money. So Judas started planning the best way to hand him over to them. |
| 12无酵节的第一天，即宰杀逾越节羔羊的那一天，门徒对耶稣说：「你愿意我们往那里去，给你预备吃逾越节晚餐？」 | 12On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the day when the Passover Lamb was killed, the disciples asked him, "Where would you have us go to prepare the Passover meal for you?" |
| 13耶稣就打发两个门徒，对他们说：「你们往城里去，必有一个拿着水罐的人迎面而来，你们就跟着他去； | 13So Jesus sent two of his disciples with these instructions, "Go into the city and there a man will come to you carrying a jar of water. Follow him to the house he enters and say to the owner, |
| 14他无论进入那里，你们就对那家主说：师傅问：我同我的门徒吃逾越节晚餐的客厅在那里？ | 14'The Master says: Where is the room where I may eat the Passover meal with my disciples?' |
| 15他必指给你们一间舖设好了的宽大楼厅，你们就在那里为我们预备罢！」 | 15Then he will show you a large room upstairs, already arranged and furnished. There you will prepare for us." |
| 16门徒去了，来到城里，所遇见的，正如耶稣给他们所说的；他们就预备了逾越节晚餐。 | 16The disciples went off. When they reached the city, they found everything just as Jesus had told them; and they prepared the Passover meal. |
| 17到了晚上，耶稣同那十二人来了。 | 17When it was evening, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. |
| 18他们坐席吃饭时，耶稣说：「我实在告诉你们：你们中有一个与我同食的要负卖我。」 | 18While they were at table eating, Jesus said, "Truly, I tell you, one of you will betray me, one who shares my meal." |
| 19他们就都忧闷起来， 一个一个的问他说：「难道是我吗？」 | 19They were deeply distressed at hearing this and asked him, one after the other, "You don't mean me, do you?" |
| 20耶稣对他们说：「是十二人中的一个，同我一起在盘子里蘸的那一个。 | 20And Jesus answered, "It is one of you Twelve, one who dips his bread in the dish with me. |
| 21人子固然要按照指着他所记载的而去，但是负卖人子的那人是有祸的！那人若没有生，为他更好。」 | 21The Son of Man is going as the Scriptures say he will. But alas for that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed; better for him if he had never been born." |
| 22他们正吃的时候，耶稣拿起饼来，祝福了，擘开，递给他们说：「你们拿去吃罢！这是我的身体。」 | 22While they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. And he said, "Take this, it is my body." |
| 23又拿起杯来，祝谢了，递给他们，他们都从杯中喝了。 | 23Then he took a cup and after he had given thanks, passed it to them and they all drank from it. |
| 24耶稣对他们说：「这是我的血，新约的血，为大众流出来的。 | 24And he said, "This is my blood, the blood of the Covenant, which is to be poured out for many. |
| 25我实在告诉你们：我决不再喝这葡萄汁了，直到我在天主的国里喝新酒的那天。」 | 25Truly, I say to you, I will not taste the fruit of the vine again until the day I drink the new wine in the kingdom of God." |
| 26他们唱完圣咏，就出来，往橄榄山去了。 | 26After singing psalms of praise, they went out to the Hill of Olives. |
| 27耶稣对他们说：「你们都要跌倒，因为有记载说：『我要打击牧人，羊群就要四散。』 | 27And Jesus said to them, "All of you will be confused and fall away; for the Scripture says: I will strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered. |
| 28但我复活后，要在你们以先，到加里肋亚去。」 | 28But after I am raised up, I will go to Galilee ahead of you." |
| 29伯多禄对他说：「即便众人都要跌倒，我却不然。」 | 29Then Peter said to him, "Even though all the others fall away, I will not." |
| 30耶稣就向他说：「我实在告诉你：就在今天，这一夜里，鸡叫两遍以前，你要三次不认我。」 | 30And Jesus replied, "Truly, I say to you, today, this very night before the cock crows twice, you will deny me three times." |
| 31伯多禄更加激烈地说：「即便我该同你一起死，我也决不会不认你。」众人也都这样说了。 | 31But Peter insisted,"Though I have to die with you, I will never deny you." And all of them said the same. |
| 32他们来到一个名叫革责玛尼的庄园里；耶稣对门徒说：「你们坐在这里，等我去祈祷。」 | 32They came to a place which was called Gethsemane and Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray." |
| 33遂带着伯多禄、雅各伯和若望与他同去；他开始惊惧恐怖， | 33But he took Peter, James and John along with him, and becoming filled with fear and distress, |
| 34便对他们说：「我的心灵悲伤得要死；你们留在这里，且要醒寤。」 | 34he said to them, "My soul is full of sorrow, even to death. Remain here and stay awake." |
| 35耶稣往前走了不远，俯伏在地祈求，如果可能，使这时辰离他而去， | 35Then he went a little further on and fell to the ground, praying that if possible this hour might pass him by. Jesus said, |
| 36说：「阿爸！父啊！一切为你都可能：请给我免去这杯罢！但是，不要照我所愿意的，而要照你所愿意的。」 | 36"Abba (Daddy), all things are possible for you; take this cup away from me. Yet not what I want, but what you want." |
| 37耶稣回来，见他们睡着了，就对伯多禄说：「西满！你睡觉吗？你不能醒寤一个时辰吗？ | 37Then he came and found them asleep and said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn't you stay awake for one hour? |
| 38你们醒寤祈祷罢！免陷于诱惑。心神固然切愿，但肉体却软弱。」 | 38Keep watch and pray, all of you, so that you may not slip into temptation. The spirit indeed is eager but human nature is weak. |
| 39耶稣又去祈祷，说了同样的话。 | 39And going away he prayed saying the same words. |
| 40他又回来，见他们仍是睡着，因为他们的眼睛沉重，也不知道要回答他什么。 | 40When he came back to the disciples, he found them asleep again; they could not keep their eyes open, and they did not know what to say to him. |
| 41他第三次回来，对他们说：「你们还睡下去吗？还安息吗？够了！时辰到了，看，人子就要被交付在罪人手中了。 | 41When he came back the third time, he said, "You can sleep on now and take your rest! It is all over, the time has come; the Son of Man is now given into the hands of sinners. |
| 42起来！我们去罢！看，那负卖我的来近了。」 | 42Get up, let us go. Look: the one betraying me is right here." |
| 43耶稣还说话的时候，那十二人中之一的犹达斯，遂即到了，同他一起的，还有带着刀剑棍棒的群众，是由司祭长、经师和长老那里派来的。 | 43While Jesus was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came up. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, who had been sent by the chief priests, the teachers of the Law and the elders. |
| 44那出卖耶稣的人曾给他们一个暗号说：「我口亲谁，谁就是；你们拿住他，小心带去。」 | 44The traitor had arranged a signal for them, "The one I kiss, he is the man. Arrest him and take him away under guard." |
| 45犹达斯一来，便立刻到耶稣跟前说：「辣彼！」遂口亲了他。 | 45So, when he came, he went directly to Jesus calling, "Master! Master!" and kissed him. |
| 46他们就向耶稣下手，拿住了他。 | 46Then they seized Jesus and arrested him. |
| 47站在旁边的人中，有一个拔出剑来，砍了大司祭的仆人一剑，削下了他的一个耳朵。 | 47One of the bystanders drew his sword and struck out at the High Priest's servant, cutting off his ear. |
| 48耶稣开口对他们说：「你们带着刀剑棍棒出来拿我，如同对付强盗一样； | 48Jesus turned to them saying, "So you have set out against a robber! Did you need swords and clubs to arrest me? |
| 49我天天在你们当中，在圣殿里施教，你们没有拿我；但这是为应验经上的话。」 | 49Day after day I was among you teaching in the Temple and you did not arrest me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled." |
| 50门徒都撇下他逃跑了。 | 50Then they all deserted him and fled. |
| 51那时，有一个少年人，赤身披着一块麻布，跟随耶稣，人们抓住了他； | 51A young man covered by nothing but a linen cloth followed Jesus. As they took hold of him, |
| 52但他撇下麻布，赤着身子逃走了。 | 52he left the cloth in their hands and fled away naked. |
| 53他们把耶稣带到大司祭那里，所有的司祭长、长老和经师也都聚集在那里。 | 53They led Jesus to the High Priest and all the chief priests assembled with the elders and the teachers of the Law. |
| 54伯多禄远远的跟着耶稣，直到大司祭的庭院里面，同差役们坐在一起，烤火取暖。 | 54Peter had followed him at a distance and went right into the courtyard of the High Priest, where he sat with the guards, warming himself at the fire. |
| 55司祭长和全体公议会，寻找证据反对耶稣，为把他处死，却没有找着。 | 55Now the chief priests and the whole Council tried to find some evidence against Jesus so that they might put him to death, but they were unable to find any. |
| 56原来有许多人造假证据告他，但那些证据各不相符。 | 56Even though many came up to speak falsely against him, their evidence did not agree. |
| 57有几个人站起来，作假见证告他说： | 57At last some stood up and gave this false witness: |
| 58「我们曾听他说过：我要拆毁这座用手建造的圣殿，三天内要另建一座不用手建造的。」 | 58"We heard him say: 'I will destroy this Temple made by hands and in three days I will build another not made by human hands." |
| 59连他们的这证据也不相符合。 | 59But even so their evidence did not agree. |
| 60于是，大司祭起来，站在中间，问耶稣说：「这些人作证反对你的事，你什么也不回答吗？」 | 60The High Priest then stood up in the midst of them and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer at all? What of this evidence against you?" |
| 61耶稣却不作声，什么也不回答。大司祭又问他说：「你是默西亚，那应受赞颂者的儿子吗？」 | 61But Jesus was silent and made no reply. The High Priest put a second question to him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" |
| 62耶稣说：「我是，并且你们要看见人子，坐在大能者的右边，乘着天上的云彩降来。」 | 62Then Jesus answered, "I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Most Powerful and coming with the clouds of heaven around him." |
| 63大司祭遂撕裂自己的衣服说：「何必还需要见证呢？ | 63The High Priest tore his clothes to show his horror and said, "What more evidence do we need? |
| 64你们都听见亵渎的话了，你们看着该怎样？」众人都判定他该死。 | 64You have just heard his blasphemous words. What is your decision?" And they all condemned Jesus saying, "He must die." |
| 65有些人就开始向他吐唾沫，蒙起他的脸来，用拳头打他，对他说：「你作先知罢！」差役且用巴掌打他。 | 65Some of them began to spit on Jesus and, blindfolding him, they struck him saying, "Play the prophet!" And the guards set upon him with blows. |
| 66伯多禄在下边庭院里时，来了一个大司祭的使女， | 66While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the High Priest's servant-girls came by. |
| 67看见伯多禄烤火，就注视他说：「你也是和那个纳匝肋人耶稣一起的。」 | 67Noticing Peter beside the fire, she looked straight at him and said, "You also were with Jesus, the Nazarene." |
| 68伯多禄却否认说：「我不知道，也不明白你说什么。」他遂走出去，到了门廊，鸡就叫了。 | 68But he denied it, "I don't know or understand what you are talking about." And he went out through the gateway. |
| 69那使女看见他，就又给站在旁边的人说：「这也是他们中间的人。」 | 69The servant-girl saw him there and told the bystanders, "This man is one of them." |
| 70伯多禄又否认了。过了一会儿，站在旁边的人又再对伯多禄说：「你确是他们中间的，因为你也是个加里肋亚人。」 | 70But Peter denied it again. After a little while those standing by said to Peter, "Of course you are one of them; you are a Galilean, aren't you?" |
| 71伯多禄就开始诅咒，并发誓说：「我不认得你们说的这个人。」 | 71And Peter began to justify himself with curses and oaths, "I don't know the man you are talking about." |
| 72立时鸡叫了第二遍。伯多禄遂想起耶稣给他所说的话：「鸡叫二遍以前，你要三次不认我。」就放声大哭起来。 | 72Just then a cock crowed a second time and Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him, "Before the cock crows twice you will deny me three times." And he broke down and wept. |
