¹法利塞人和一些从耶路撒冷来的经师，聚集到耶稣跟前。	¹One day the Pharisees gathered around Jesus and with them were some teachers of the Law who had just come from Jerusalem.
²他们曾看见他的几个门徒用不洁的手，就是用没有洗过的手吃饭──	²They noticed that some of his disciples were eating their meal with unclean hands, that is, without washing them.
³原来，法利塞人和所有的犹太人，都拘守先人的传授：若不仔细洗手，就不吃饭；	³Now the Pharisees, and in fact, all the Jews, never eat without washing their hands for they follow the tradition received from their ancestors.
⁴从街市上回来，若不先沐浴，也不吃饭；还有其他许多按传授应拘守的事：如洗杯，洗壶，洗铜器等──	⁴Nor do they eat anything when they come from the market without first washing themselves. And there are many other traditions they observe, for example, the ritual washing of cups, pots and plates.
⁵法利塞人和经师们就问耶稣说：「你的门徒为什么不遵守先人的传授，而用不洁的手吃饭？」	⁵So the Pharisees and the teachers of the Law asked him, "Why do your disciples not follow the tradition of the elders, but eat with unclean hands?"
⁶耶稣对他们说：「依撒意亚论你们这些假善人预言的真好，正如所记载的：『这民族用嘴唇尊敬我，他们的心却远离我。	⁶Jesus answered, "You, shallow people! How well Isaiah prophesied of you when he wrote: This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
⁷他们恭敬我，也是虚假的，因为他们所讲授的教义，是人的规律。』	⁷The worship they offer me is worthless, for what they teach are only human rules.
⁸你们离弃天主的诫命，而只拘守人的传授。」	⁸You even put aside the commandment of God to hold fast to human tradition."
⁹又向他们说：「真好啊！你们为拘守你们的传授，竟废除了天主的诫命。	⁹And Jesus commented, "You have a fine way of disregarding the commandment of God in order to implant your own tradition.
¹⁰梅瑟原说过：『你该孝敬你的父亲及你的母亲』；又说：『咒骂了父亲或母亲的，应处以死刑』。	¹⁰For example, Moses said: Do your duty to your father and your mother, and: Whoever curses his father or his mother is to be put to death.
¹¹你们却说：人若对父亲或母亲说：我所能供养你的，已成了『科尔班』，即『献仪』，	¹¹But according to you someone could say to his father or mother: 'I already declared Corban, which means "offered to God," what you could have expected from me.'
¹²那么就准许那人不必再为父母做什么了：	¹²In this case, you no longer let him do anything for a father or mother.
¹³这样你们便为了你们所传授的遗教，废弃了天主的话；并且你们还行了许多其他诸如此类的事。」	¹³So you nullify the word of God through the tradition you have handed on. And you do many other things like that."
¹⁴耶稣又叫过群众来，对他们说：「你们都要听我，且要明白！	¹⁴Jesus then called the people to him again and said to them, "Listen to me, all of you, and try to understand.
¹⁵不是从人外面进入他内的，能污秽人，而是从人里面出来的，才污秽人。	¹⁵Nothing that enters one from outside can make that person unclean. It is what comes out from within that makes unclean.
¹⁶凡有耳听的，听罢！」	¹⁶Let everyone who has ears listen."
¹⁷耶稣离开群众，回到家里，他的门徒便问他这比喻的意义。	¹⁷When Jesus got home and was away from the crowd, his disciples asked him about this saying
¹⁸耶稣就给他们说：「怎么，连你们也不明白吗？你们不晓得：凡从外面进入人内的，不能使人污秽，	¹⁸and he replied, "So even you are dull? Do you not see that whatever comes from outside cannot make a person unclean?
¹⁹因为进不到他的心，但到他的肚腹内，再排泄到厕所里去吗？」──他这是说一切食物都是洁净的。	¹⁹Since it enters, not the heart but the stomach and is finally passed out." Thus Jesus declared that all foods are clean.
²⁰耶稣又说：「凡从人里面出来的，那才使人污秽，	²⁰And he went on, "What comes out of a person is what defiles,
²¹因为从里面，从人心里出来的是些恶念、邪淫、盗窃、凶杀、	²¹for evil designs come out of the heart: theft, murder,
²²奸淫、贪吝、毒辣、诡诈、放荡、嫉妒、毁谤、骄傲、愚妄：	²²adultery, jealousy, greed, maliciousness, deceit, indecency, slander, pride and folly.
²³这一切恶事，都是从内里出来的，并且使人污秽。」	²³All these evil things come from within and make a person unclean."
²⁴耶稣从那里起身，往提洛和漆冬境内去了。他进了一家，不愿任何人知道，但是不能隐藏。	²⁴When Jesus left that place he went to the border of the Tyrian country. There he entered a house and did not want anyone to know he was there, but he could not remain hidden.
²⁵当下就有一个妇人，她的女儿附了邪魔，一听说耶稣，就来跪伏在他脚前。	²⁵A woman whose small daughter had an evil spirit, heard of him and came and fell at his feet.
²⁶这妇人是个外邦人，生于叙利亞腓尼基；她恳求耶稣把魔鬼从她女儿身上赶出去。	²⁶Now this woman was a pagan, a Syrophoenician by birth, and she begged him to drive the demon out of her daughter.
²⁷耶稣向她说：「应先让儿女们吃饱了，因为拿儿女的饼扔给小狗是不对的。」	²⁷Jesus told her, "Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."
²⁸那妇人却回答说：「主！是啊！可是小狗在桌子底下，也可吃孩子们的碎屑呢！」	²⁸But she replied, "Sir, even the dogs under the table eat the crumbs from the children's bread."
²⁹耶稣对她说：「为了这句话，你去罢！魔鬼已从你女儿身上出去了。」	²⁹Then Jesus said to her, "You may go your way; because of such a reply the demon has gone out of your daughter."
³⁰她一回到自己的家里，看见孩子躺在床上，魔鬼已出去了。	³⁰And when the woman went home, she found her child lying in bed and the demon gone.
³¹耶稣又从提洛境内出来，经过漆冬，向着加里肋亚海，到了十城区中心地带。	³¹Again Jesus set out; from the country of Tyre he passed through Sidon and skirting the sea of Galilee he came to the territory of Decapolis.
³²有人给他带来一个又聋又哑的人，求他给他覆手。	³²There a deaf man who also had difficulty in speaking was brought to him. They asked Jesus to lay his hand upon him.
³³耶稣便领他离开群众，来到一边，把手指放进他的耳朵里，并用唾沫，抹他的舌头，	³³Jesus took him apart from the crowd, put his fingers into the man's ears and touched his tongue with spittle.
³⁴然后望天叹息，向他说：「厄法达」就是说：「开了罢！」	³⁴Then, looking up to heaven, he groaned and said to him, "Ephphetha," that is, "Be opened."
³⁵他的耳朵就立时开了，舌结也解了，说话也清楚了。	³⁵And his ears were opened, his tongue was loosened, and he began to speak clearly.
³⁶耶稣遂嘱咐他们不要告诉任何人；但他越嘱咐他们，他们便越发宣传；	³⁶Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone, but the more he insisted on this, the more they proclaimed it.
³⁷人都不胜惊奇说：「他所做的一切都好：使聋子听见，叫哑吧说话。」	³⁷The people were completely astonished and said, "He has done all things well; he makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak."
