| 1法利塞人和撒杜塞人，为试探耶稣，前来求他给他们显一个来自天上的征兆。 | 1The Pharisees and Sadducees appeared. They wanted to put Jesus to the test and asked him for some heavenly sign. |
| 2耶稣回答他们说：「到了晚上，你们说：天色发红，必要放晴。 | 2Jesus answered, "(When evening comes, you say: 'It will be a good day for the sky is red.' |
| 3早上，天色又红又黑，你们说：今日必有风雨；你们知道辨别天象，却不能辨别时期的征兆。 | 3And in the morning you say: 'Stormy weather today, for the sky in the east is red.' If you know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, why can't you interpret the signs of the times?) |
| 4邪恶淫乱的世代要求征兆，但除了约纳先知的征兆外，必不给它其他的征兆。」耶稣遂离开他们走了。 | 4An evil and unbelieving people want a sign, but no sign will be given them except the sign of Jonah." So Jesus left them and went away. |
| 5门徒往对岸去的时候，忘了带饼： | 5When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread. |
| 6耶稣就对他们说：「你们应当谨慎防备法利塞人和撒杜塞人的酵母。」 | 6It was then that Jesus said to them, "Beware and do not trust the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." |
| 7他们便彼此议论说：「因为我们没有带饼罢！」 | 7And the disciples said to one another, "He means the bread we did not bring." |
| 8耶稣知道了就说：「小信德的人！你们为什么竟彼此议论你们没有带饼呢？ | 8Jesus was aware of this, so he said to them, "You of little faith! Why do you speak about the bread you haven't got? |
| 9你们还不明白吗？你们不记得五个饼分给五千人，你们收拾了几筐？ | 9Do you still not understand? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many baskets you gathered? |
| 10七个饼分给四千人，你们又收拾了几篮？ | 10Or the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many wicker baskets you gathered? |
| 11怎么你们不明白，我不是指着饼向你们说的呢？你们应当防备法利塞人和撒杜塞人的酵母！」 | 11How can you fail to understand that I was not talking of bread when I told you: Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees?" |
| 12他们这才明白耶稣不是说防备饼的酵母，而是说防备法利塞人和撒杜塞人的教训。 | 12Then they understood that he was not talking of yeast for bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. |
| 13耶稣来到了斐理伯的凯撒勒雅境内，就问门徒说：「人们说人子是谁？」 | 13After that Jesus came to Caesarea Philippi. He asked his disciples, "What do people say of the Son of Man? Who do they say I am?" |
| 14他们说：「有人说是洗者若翰；有人说是厄里亚；也有人说是耶肋米亚，或先知中的一位。」 | 14They said, "For some of them you are John the Baptist, for others Elijah or Jeremiah or one of the prophets." |
| 15耶稣对他们说：「你们说我是谁？」 | 15Jesus asked them, "But you, who do you say I am?" |
| 16西满伯多禄回答说：「你是默西亚，永生天主之子。」 | 16Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." |
| 17耶稣回答他说：「约纳的儿子西满，你是有福的，因为不是肉和血启示了你，而是我在天之父。 | 17Jesus replied, "It is well for you, Simon Barjona, for it is not flesh or blood that has revealed this to you but my Father in heaven. |
| 18我再给你说：你是伯多禄（磐石），在这磐石上，我要建立我的教会，阴间的门决不能战胜她。 | 18And now I say to you: You are Peter (or Rock) and on this rock I will build my Church; and never will the powers of death overcome it. |
| 19我要将天国的钥匙交给你；凡你在地上所束缚的，在天上也要被束缚；凡你在地上所释放的，在天上也要被释放。」 | 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and what you unbind on earth shall be unbound in heaven." |
| 20他遂即严禁门徒，不要对任何人说他是默西亚。 | 20Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ. |
| 21从那时起，耶稣就开绐向门徒说明：他必须上耶路撒冷去，要由长老、司祭长和经师们受到许多痛苦，并将被杀，但第三天要复活。 | 21From that day Jesus began to make it clear to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem; he would suffer many things from the Jewish authorities, the chief priests and the teachers of the Law. He would be killed and be raised on the third day. |
| 22伯多禄便拉耶稣到一边，谏责他说：「主，千万不可！这事绝不会临到你身上！」 | 22Then Peter took him aside and began to reproach him, "Never, Lord! No, this must never happen to you." |
| 23耶稣转身对伯多禄说：「撒殚，退到我后面去！你是我的绊脚石，因为你所体会的，不是天主的事，而是人的事。」 | 23But Jesus turned to him and said, "Get behind me, Satan! You would have me stumble. You are their King not as God does, but as people do." |
| 24于是，耶稣对门徒说：「谁若愿意跟随我，该弃绝自己，背着自己的十字架来跟随我， | 24Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If you want to follow me, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me. |
| 25因为谁若愿意救自己的性命，必要丧失性命；但谁若为我的原故，丧失自己的性命，必要获得性命。 | 25For whoever chooses to save his life will lose it, but the one who loses his life for my sake will find it. |
| 26人纵然赚得了全世界，却赔上了自己的灵魂，为他有什么益处？或者，人还能拿什么作为自己灵魂的代价？ | 26What will one gain by winning the whole world if he destroys himself? There is nothing you can give to recover your own self. |
| 27因为将来人子要在他父的光荣中同他的天使降来，那时，他要按照每人的行为予以赏报。 | 27Know that the Son of Man will come in the Glory of his Father with the holy angels, and he will reward each one according to his deeds. |
| 28我实在告诉你们：站在这里的人中，就有些人在未尝到死味以前，必要看见人子来到自己的国内。」 | 28Truly, I tell you, there are some here who will not die before they see the Son of Man coming as king." |
