| 1那时，耶稣被圣神领往旷野，为受魔鬼的试探。 | 1Then the Spirit led Jesus into the desert that he be put to the test by the devil. |
| 2他四十天四十夜禁食，后来就饿了。 | 2After spending forty days and nights without food, Jesus was hungry. |
| 3试探者就前来对他说：「你若是天主子，就命这些石头变成饼罢！」 | 3Then the devil came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, order these stones to turn into bread." |
| 4他回答说：「经上记载：『人生活不只靠饼，而也靠天主口中所发的一切言语。』」 | 4But Jesus answered, "Scripture says: one does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." |
| 5那时，魔鬼引他到了圣城，把他立在殿顶上， | 5Then the devil took Jesus to the holy city, set him on the highest wall of the temple, and said to him, |
| 6对他说：「你若是天主子，就跳下去，因经上记载：『他为你吩咐了自己的天使，他们要用手托着你，免得你的脚碰在石头上。』」 | 6"If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for scripture says, God has given orders to his angels about you. Their hands will hold you up lest you hurt your foot against a stone." |
| 7耶稣对他说：「经上又记载：『你不可试探上主，你的天主！』」 | 7Jesus answered, "But scripture also says: You shall not put to the test the Lord your God." |
| 8魔鬼又把他带到一座极高的山上，将世上的一切国度及其荣华指给他看， | 8Then the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the nations of the world in all their greatness and splendor. And he said, |
| 9对他说：「你若俯伏朝拜我，我必把这一切交给你。」 | 9"All this I will give you, if you kneel and worship me." |
| 10那时，耶稣就对他说：「去罢！撒殚！因为经上记载：『你要朝拜上主，你的天主，惟独事奉他。』」 | 10Then Jesus answered, "Be off, Satan! Scripture says: worship the Lord your God and serve him alone." |
| 11于是魔鬼离开了他，就有天使前来伺候他。 | 11Then the devil left him, and angels came to serve him. |
| 12耶稣听到若翰被监禁以后，就退避到加里肋亚去了； | 12When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee. |
| 13后又离开纳匝肋，来住在海边的葛法翁，即住在则步隆和纳斐塔里境内。 | 13He left Nazareth and went to settle down in Capernaum, a town by the lake of Galilee, at the border of Zebulun and Naphtali. |
| 14这应验了依撒意亚先知所说的话： | 14In this way the word of the prophet Isaiah was fulfilled: |
| 15「则步隆地与纳斐塔里地，通海大路，约但河东，外方人的加里肋亚， | 15Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali crossed by the Road of the Sea, and you who live by the Jordan, Galilee, land of pagans, listen: |
| 16那坐在黑暗中的百姓，看见了浩光；那些坐在死亡阴影之地的人，为他们出现了光明。」 | 16The people who lived in darkness have seen a great light; on those who live in the land of the shadow of death, a light has shone. |
| 17从那时起，耶稣开始宣讲说：「你们悔改罢！因为天国临近了。」 | 17From that time on Jesus began to proclaim his message, "Change your ways: the kingdom of heaven is near." |
| 18耶稣沿加里肋亚海行走时，看见了两个兄弟：称为伯多禄的西满，和他的兄弟安德肋，在海里撒网，他们原是渔夫。 | 18As Jesus walked by the lake of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. |
| 19他就对他们说：「来，跟从我！我要使你们成为渔人的渔夫。」 | 19He said to them, "Come, follow me, and I will make you fish for people." |
| 20他们立刻舍下网，跟随了他。 | 20At once they left their nets and followed him. |
| 21他从那里再往前行，看见了另外两个兄弟：载伯德的儿子雅各伯和他的弟弟若望，在船上同自己的父亲载伯德修理他们的网，就召叫了他们。 | 21He went on from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. Jesus called them. |
| 22他们也立刻舍下鱼船和自己的父亲，跟随了他。 | 22At once they left the boat and their father and followed him. |
| 23耶稣走遍了全加里肋亚，在他们的会堂内施教，宣讲天国的福音，治好民间各种疾病，各种灾殃。 | 23Jesus went around all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom, and curing all kinds of sickness and disease among the people. |
| 24他的名声传遍了整个叙利亚。人就把一切有病的、受各种疾病痛苦煎熬的、附魔的，癫疯的、瘫痪的，都给他送来，他都治好了他们。 | 24The news about him spread through the whole of Syria, and the people brought all their sick to him, and all those who suffered: the possessed, the deranged, the paralyzed, and he healed them all. |
| 25于是有许多群众从加里肋亚、「十城区」、耶路撒冷、犹太和约但河东岸来跟随了他。 | 25Large crowds followed him from Galilee and the Ten Cities, from Jerusalem, Judea, and from across the Jordan. |
