| 1米黎盎和亚郎为了梅瑟所娶的雇士女人出言反对梅瑟，因为他娶了个雇士女人， | 1Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman he had married |
| 2于是说：「上主岂只与梅瑟交谈，不是也与我们交谈过！」上主听见了这话。 | 2and they said, "Has Yahweh only spoken through Moses? Has he not also spoken through us?" And Yahweh heard. |
| 3梅瑟为人十分谦和，超过地上所有的人。 | 3Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than any man on the face of the earth. |
| 4上主忽然向梅瑟、亚郎和米黎盎说：「你们三人到会幕那里去。」他们三人就去了。 | 4Yet suddenly Yahweh said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, "Come out, all three of you, to the Tent of Meeting." The three of them came out. |
| 5上主乘云柱降下，停在会幕门口，叫亚郎和米黎盎；他们两人就走向前去， | 5Yahweh came down in the pillar of cloud and, standing at the door of the Tent, called Aaron and Miriam. They both went out and |
| 6上主说：「你们听我说：若你们中有一位是先知，我要在神视中显示给他，在梦中与他谈话； | 6he said, "Listen carefully to what I say, If there is a prophet among you, I reveal myself to him in a vision and I speak to him in a dream. |
| 7但对我的仆人梅瑟却不是这样，他在我全家中是最忠信可靠的。 | 7It is not so for my servant, Moses, my trusted steward in all my household. |
| 8我面对面与他明明说话，不藉谜语，并让他望见上主的形像。为什么你们竟不怕出言反对我的仆人梅瑟？」 | 8To him I speak face to face, openly, and not in riddles, and he sees the presence of Yahweh. Why then did you not fear to speak against my servant, against Moses?" |
| 9上主对他们发着怒走了。 | 9Yahweh became angry with them and he departed. |
| 10彩云一离开会幕，看，米黎盎就生了癞病，像雪那样白；亚郎转身看见米黎盎生了癞病， | 10The cloud moved away from above the Tent and Miriam was there white as snow with leprosy. Aaron turned towards Miriam and he saw that she was leprous. |
| 11遂对梅瑟说：「我主，恳求你，别使我们因一时愚昧所犯之罪而受罚！ | 11And he said to Moses, "My lord, I beg you, do not charge us with this sin that we have foolishly committed. |
| 12求你别让她像个胎死腹中的人，一出娘胎，肉身就已腐烂了一半。」 | 12Let her not be like the stillborn whose flesh is half-eaten when it comes from its mother's womb." |
| 13梅瑟遂向上主呼求说：「天主，我求你治好她罢！」 | 13Then Moses cried to Yahweh, "Heal her, O God, I beg of you." |
| 14上主对梅瑟说：「若她的父亲在她面上吐唾沬，她岂不要七天忍此羞辱，七天把她隔离在营外，然后才让她回来？」 | 14But Yahweh said to Moses, "If her father spat in her face, would she not hide in shame for seven days? Let her then be confined outside the camp for seven days; only then shall she be admitted again." |
| 15于是米黎盎七天之久，被隔离在营外；民众也没有起程，直到米黎盎回来。 | 15And so Miriam was confined for seven days outside the camp and the people did not move on until she had been readmitted. |
| 16以后，民众由哈兹洛特起程出发，在帕兰旷野扎了营。 | 16After that the people set out from Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran. |
