| 1以色列人出埃及国后第二年二月一日，上主在西乃旷野于会幕内训示梅瑟说： | 1Yahweh spoke to Moses, in the desert of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after their departure from the land of Egypt. He said: |
| 2「你们要依照以色列子民的宗族和家系，统计全会众的人口，把男丁的姓名都一一登记。 | 2"Take a census of the whole community of Israel, by clans and families, taking a count of the names of all the males, head by head. |
| 3在以色列中，凡二十岁以上能上阵作战的，你和亚郎要一队一队地统计。 | 3You and Aaron will enlist all men of Israel, twenty years of age and over, able to give military service. |
| 4每一支派有一人同你们合作，他们都是各宗族的族长。 | 4From each tribe you shall take a man, the head of his family, to help you in this. |
| 5那协助你们的人名如下：勒乌本支派，是舍德乌尔的儿子厄里族尔； | 5These are the names of those who are to be your helpers: For Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur. |
| 6西默盎支派，是族黎沙待的儿子舍路米耳； | 6For Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai. |
| 7犹大支派，是阿米纳达布的儿子纳赫雄； | 7For Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab. |
| 8依撒加尔支派，是族阿尔的儿子乃塔乃耳； | 8For Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar. |
| 9则步隆支派，是赫隆的儿子厄里雅布； | 9For Zebu-lun, Eliab son of Helon. |
| 10若瑟的两个儿子：厄弗辣因支派，是阿米胡得的儿子厄里沙玛；默纳协支派，是培达族尔的儿子加默里耳； | 10Of the sons of Joseph: for Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; for Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur. |
| 11本雅明支派，是基德敖尼的儿子阿彼丹； | 11For Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni. |
| 12丹支派，是阿米沙待的儿子阿希厄则尔； | 12For Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai. |
| 13阿协尔支派，是敖革兰的儿子帕革厄耳； | 13For Asher, Pagiel son of Ochran. |
| 14加得支派，是勒乌耳的儿子厄肋雅撒夫； | 14For Gad, Eliasaph son of Reuel. |
| 15纳斐塔里支派，是厄南的儿子阿希辣。」 | 15For Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan." |
| 16这些人是由会众中选出来的，都是他们宗族的领袖，以色列的千夫长。 | 16These men were elected by public acclamation; they were leaders of their ancestral clans, chiefs of Israel's hosts. |
| 17梅瑟和亚郎就带着这些提名派定的人， | 17Moses and Aaron took these men who had been named, |
| 18于二月一日召集了全会众，人都依照宗族和家系登了记，由二十岁以上的，都一一将姓名登了记。 | 18and on the first day of the second month they called together the whole community. The sons of Israel listed their names according to their clans and families, and one by one the names of all men of twenty years and over were recorded and counted. |
| 19上主怎样吩咐了梅瑟，梅瑟就怎样在西乃旷野统计了他们。 | 19As Yahweh had commanded, Moses took a census of them in the desert of Sinai. |
| 20以色列的长子勒乌本子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的男子，都一一将姓名登了记； | 20When the tribe of Reuben, Israel's firstborn, had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 21勒乌本支派登记的，计有四万六千五百。 | 21The total of these for the tribe of Reuben was 46,500. |
| 22西默盎子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的男子，都一一将姓名登了记， | 22When the tribe of Simeon had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 23西默盎支派登记的，计有五万九千三百。 | 23The total of these for the tribe of Simeon was 59,300. |
| 24加得子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记； | 24When the tribe of Gad had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service were recorded one by one. |
| 25加得支派登记的，计有四万五千六百五十。 | 25The total of these for the tribe of Gad was 45,650. |
| 26犹大子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记； | 26When the tribe of Judah had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 27犹大支派登记的，计有七万四千六百。 | 27The total of these for the tribe of Judah was 74,600. |
| 28依撒加尔子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记， | 28When the tribe of Issachar had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service were recorded one by one. |
| 29依撒加尔支派登记的，计有五万四千四百。 | 29The total of these for the tribe of Issachar was 54,400. |
| 30则步隆子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记； | 30When the tribe of Zebulun had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 31则步隆支派登记的，计有五万七千四百。 | 31The total of these for the tribe of Zebulun was 57,400. |
| 32若瑟的子孙：厄弗辣因子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记； | 32The descendants of Joseph: when the tribe of Ephraim had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 33厄弗辣因支派登记的，计有四万五百。 | 33The total of these for the tribe of Ephraim was 40,500. |
| 34默纳协子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的男子，都一一将姓名登了记； | 34When the tribe of Manasseh had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 35默纳协支派登记的，计有三万二千二百。 | 35The total of these for the tribe of Manasseh was 32,200. |
| 36本雅明子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记； | 36When the tribe of Benjamin had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 37本雅明支派登记的，计有三万五千四百。 | 37The total of these for the tribe of Benjamin was 35,400. |
| 38丹子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记； | 38When the tribe of Dan had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service were recorded one by one. |
| 39丹支派登记的，计有六万二千七百。 | 39The total of these for the tribe of Dan was 62,700. |
| 40阿协尔子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记； | 40When the tribe of Asher had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 41阿协尔支派登记的，计有四万一千五百。 | 41The total of these for the tribe of Asher was 41,500. |
| 42纳斐塔里子孙的后裔，依照宗族和家系，二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的，都将姓名登了记； | 42When the tribe of Napthali had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 43纳斐塔里支派登记的，计有五万三千四百： | 43The total of these for the tribe of Napthali was 53,400. |
| 44以上是梅瑟和亚郎并以色列的首领十二人──每宗族一人──所登记的人数。 | 44Such were the men registered by Moses, Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each representing his tribe. |
| 45以色列中二十岁以上，凡能上阵作战的以色列子民，全依照宗族和家系登了记。 | 45Every man of Israel of twenty years and over, able to give military service, was counted according to his tribe. |
| 46全体登记的总数，是六十万三千五百五十。 | 46Altogether the full total was 603,550. |
| 47但是肋未人没有依照自己的宗派同他们一起登记， | 47But the Levites and their tribe were not included in the count. |
| 48因为上主曾训示梅瑟说： | 48Yahweh spoke to Moses and said: |
| 49「只有肋未支派，不要登记，不要将他们列在以色列子民内。 | 49"Do not take any census of the Levites, or register them among the sons of Israel. |
| 50你应派肋未人管理会幕和其中一切器皿，并一切附属物。他们要搬运会幕和其中一切器皿，在会幕中服务，住在会幕的四周。 | 50You yourself must enlist the Levites to serve the Holy Tent of the Testimony and to look after its furnishings and its belongings. They are to carry the Holy Tent, and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and set up their camp around it. |
| 51会幕要迁移时，肋未人拆卸；会幕要搭扎时，肋未人张搭；若俗人走近，应处死刑。 | 51Whenever the Holy Tent is to be moved, the Levites shall take it down; whenever the Holy Tent is to be set up again, they shall do this. Any layman coming near it must be put to death. |
| 52以色列子民应分队扎营，各归本旗。 | 52The sons of Israel are to set up their tents in formation, each man with his own group and under his own banner. |
| 53但肋未人应在会幕四周扎营，免得以色列子民会众触犯天怒；肋未人应负责看守会幕。」 | 53But the Levites are to set up their tents around the Holy Tent of the Testimony, lest God's anger fall on the whole community of Israel. The Levites will take care of the Holy Tent of the Testimony." |
| 54以色列子民都照办了；上主怎样吩咐了梅瑟，他们就怎样办了。 | 54The sons of Israel did exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses. |
