| 1信誉比多财可取，敬仰比金银可贵。 | 1A good name is better than great wealth; fame is preferable to silver or gold. |
| 2富人与穷人彼此相遇，二者皆为上主所造。 | 2Rich and poor have something in common, Yahweh has made them all. |
| 3精明人遇见灾祸，即行隐避；无知者反向前走，自招损害。 | 3The discreet man foresees disgrace and hides, the ignorant keep going at their own expense. |
| 4谦卑的赏报，是敬畏上主，是享有财富、尊荣和生命。 | 4The reward of humility is fear of Yahweh, wealth, honor and life. |
| 5邪恶者的路上，满布荆棘罗网；洁身自爱的人，必能远而避之。 | 5The path of the wicked is paved with thorns and traps, he who loves his life will keep his distance. |
| 6你教导孩童应行的道路，待他老年时也不会离弃。 | 6Teach a child the way he should go, he will not stray from it while he lives. |
| 7富人宰割穷人，债主奴役债户。 | 7The rich man lords it over the poor, the borrower is the moneylender's slave. |
| 8播种邪恶的，必收获灾祸；他辛苦工作，必全属徒劳。 | 8Whoever sows injustice reaps disaster; the power of the wicked will be broken. |
| 9目光慈祥的，必蒙受祝福，因他将食粮，施舍给穷人。 | 9The warmhearted man will be blessed since he shares his bread with the poor. |
| 10赶走了狂人，就除了争执；争讼与侮辱，亦相继止息。 | 10Throw out the mocker and the dispute will cease, fighting and insults will end. |
| 11纯洁的心灵，是上主所爱；优雅的唇舌，是君王所悦。 | 11He who loves purity of heart and speaks sensibly will find a friend in the king. |
| 12上主的眼目，常卫护知识；败类的言论，必加以毁灭。 | 12Yahweh's look protects the wise man and discredits the words of the liar. |
| 13只有懒人说：「外面有狮子，在街市之中，我会被吞噬」。 | 13The lazy man says, "There is a lion outside, he will kill me in the street." |
| 14淫妇们的口，实是个深坑；上主恼怒的，必坠入其中。 | 14The adulterous woman's mouth is a deep pit, he whom Yahweh wishes to punish will fall into it. |
| 15孩童心中藏愚昧，只有戒尺能驱逐。 | 15The heart of the child is naturally foolish, the beating of instruction will cure it. |
| 16欺压穷人，是使他致富；餽赠富者，是使他贫穷。 | 16When you oppress the poor, you make them grow; when you give to the rich, you waste everything. |
| 17你应当倾听智者的训言，应专心致意领会我的知识。 | 17Give ear, listen to the words of the wise and apply yourself to understanding them, |
| 18你若细心存想，常在口中诵念，必会令你喜悦。 | 18because it will be your delight to keep them deep within you, to have them always ready on your lips. |
| 19为使你的信赖全托于上主，我今日特将道路指示给你。 | 19I wish now to teach you, so that you will place your trust in Yahweh. |
| 20关于教诲和知识，我岂未多次写过， | 20Have I not written for you thirty chapters of advice and knowledge |
| 21使你认识真言实理，答复前来问你的人？ | 21so that you may recognize the truth and be able to answer rightly him who sent you? |
| 22你不可因为人穷而剥削穷人，亦不可在城门口欺压弱小者； | 22Do not take from the poor man just because he is poor or condemn the one in misfortune, |
| 23因为他们的案件，上主必予以辩护；凡剥夺他们的人，上主必讨其生命。 | 23because Yahweh will intercede for them and will carry off the life of their oppressors. |
| 24易怒的人，不可与他交结，暴躁的人，不要与他往来， | 24Do not befriend the angry man or be a companion to the one of rage, |
| 25免得你沾染他的恶习，甘冒丧失性命的危险。 | 25for fear you adopt their ways and lose your life in their midst. |
| 26不要为别人击掌，不要为债务作保； | 26Do not be one of those who undertake a commitment and act as guarantor of debts; |
| 27免得你没有什么偿还时，连你的床榻也被人夺走。 | 27if you cannot pay, they will take from you the very bed in which you sleep. |
| 28祖先立定的旧界，你不要加以移动。 | 28Do not move the ancient boundaries established by your forefathers. |
| 29你曾见过办事能干的人吗？他必侍立在君王面前，决不侍立在佣人面前。 | 29You see a clever man at work? He will enter the service of kings; he will not stay in the service of people of no renown. |
