| 1智慧建造了房舍，雕琢了七根石柱， | 1Wisdom has built her house set upon seven pillars; |
| 2宰杀了牲畜，配制了美酒，舖设了饭桌， | 2she has slaughtered her beasts, prepared her wine and laid her table. |
| 3派出自己的使女，在城市高处呐喊： | 3Next, she sent her servants to call from the central square of the city, |
| 4「谁是无知的，请转身到这里来！」她对愚钝的人说： | 4"Pass by here, you who are fools." To the senseless she says, |
| 5「你们来，吃我的食粮，饮我配制的酒！ | 5"Come, eat and drink of the bread and wine I have prepared. |
| 6你们应放弃无知，好使你们得以生存，并在明智的道路上迈进。」 | 6Give up your foolishness and you will live; take the straight path of discernment." |
| 7谁矫正轻狂的人，只有自招羞辱；谁责斥邪恶的人，只有自找凌辱。 | 7He who corrects a mocker gains insults; and he who reprimands an evildoer receives abuse. |
| 8你不要责斥轻狂的人，免得他恨你；却要责斥明智的人，他必会爱你。 | 8Do not rebuke the mocker lest he hate you, but counsel the wise who will be grateful. |
| 9你若指教明智的人，他必更明智；你若教训正义的人，他必更有见识。 | 9Give to the wise man and he will become wiser each day; teach an upright man and he will increase his wisdom. |
| 10敬畏上主是智慧的肇基；认识至圣者就是睿智。 | 10Fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom and to know the Holy One brings discernment. |
| 11藉着我，你的岁月才可增多，你的寿命才可延长。 | 11Then I will multiply your days and increase your years of life. |
| 12你若有智慧，你必蒙受其惠；你若是轻狂也只有自食其果。 | 12If you are wise your wisdom will work to your advantage, but if you mock you alone will be harmed. |
| 13愚昧太太，浮燥愚蠢，一无所知。 | 13Lady Foolishness is impetuous, a simpleton who knows nothing. |
| 14她坐在自家门前，坐在城内高处的座位上， | 14She sits at the door of her house, on a throne in the central square of the city, |
| 15向一往直前的路人喊说： | 15to invite all passersby, "Come here, whoever is ignorant." |
| 16「谁是无知的，请转身到这里来！」向愚钝的人说： | 16To the foolish she says, |
| 17「偷来的水，更香甜；背地吃的饼，更有味。」 | 17"Stolen waters are sweet and pilfered bread is the tastiest." |
| 18他却不知冥域正在那里，她的客人都在阴府的深处。 | 18But he does not see the Shadow world lying there; nor realize that its guests are heading towards the abyss of death. |
