| 3城里巡夜的卫兵，遇见了我，我便问道：「你们看见我心爱的吗？」 | 3I sought him without finding him; the watchmen came upon me, those who patrol the city. "Have you seen the love of my heart?" |
| 4我刚离开他们，就找着了我心爱的；我拉住他不放，领他到我母亲家中，到怀孕我者的内室。 | 4As soon as I left them, I found the love of my heart. I held him and would not let him go till I had brought him to my mother's house to the room of her who conceived me. |

| 10银柱金顶，紫锦垫褥，中间绣花，是耶路撒冷女子爱情的结晶。 | 10its columns of silver, its back of gold, its seat of purple cloth, its framework inlaid with ivory. |
| 11熙雍女郎！出来观看撒罗满王，他头戴王冠，是他母亲在他新婚心灵欢乐之日，给他戴上的。 | 11Come, daughters of Zion, see King Solomon wearing the diadem with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, on the day his heart rejoiced. |

5寓意 第二幕分两场：第一场（2:8-16）又描写新郎通知自己的爱卿，恩宠的时期已临近。当时新娘还关在屋内（9节），或如鸽子隐居在岩石隙中（14节），即谓还在充军之地。新郎请她离开巴比伦回归圣地。但因有「狐狸」──即临居的敌人，如撒玛黎雅、厄东、阿孟、摩阿布等民族──毁坏「葡萄园」巴力斯坦，敌对回国的人，因此以民大部份还犹疑不决，不敢回归圣地（厄上4:2; 厄下2:19; 3:34）新娘所祈求的，是愿天主重新与自己的百姓结约，居住在「百合花」，即选民中间。见伪经「厄斯德拉卷四」5:23, 24。第二场（2:17-3:5）描绘新娘（以民）重新所受的试探。她的净配好似又离开了她。诗人在此以寓言描写『厄上下』所记以民所处的环境。第一批选民回到圣地以后，因遭遇困难，多半灰心失望，就忽略了宗教的义务，尤其忽略了重建圣殿的大业（盖1; 匝8:6-17）。在困难中，新娘再求天主顾念给亚巴郎所应许的恩赐（17节 ; 创15）。在「城」里，即在耶路撒冷城内。城内的「卫兵」似乎指当时征服圣地的波斯国士兵。她以悔改的心再找着她的爱人──天主，便领他到「母亲家」及「内室」，即新建圣殿的圣所内；在那里将自己奉献给他，为永远作他忠信的净配。 |
