| 1基肋阿得提市贝出身的提市贝人厄里亚对阿哈布说：「我指着我所服侍的永生上主、以色列的天主起誓：这几年如果没有我的命令，天决不降露或落雨！」 | 1And Elias the Thesbite of the inhabitants of Galaad said to Achab: As the Lord liveth the God of Israel, in whose sight I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to the words of my mouth. |
| 2有上主的话传於厄里亚说： | 2And the word of the Lord came to him, saying: |
| 3「你离开这里，转向东方，隐居在约但河东的革黎特小河旁。 | 3Get thee hence, and go towards the east and hide thyself by the torrent of Carith, which is over against the Jordan, |
| 4你要喝那小河里的水，我已经吩咐乌鸦在那里供给你食物。」 | 4And there thou shalt drink of the torrent: and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. |
| 5厄里亚就依照上主的话去做，去住在约但河东的革黎特小河旁。 | 5So he went, and did according to the word of the Lord: and going, he dwelt by the torrent Carith, which is over against the Jordan. |
| 6乌鸦早晨给他送饼和肉来，晚上也给他送饼和肉来；渴了，就喝那小河里的水。 | 6And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening, and he drank of tile torrent. |
| 7不几天以后，那地方没有落雨，小河也干涸了。 | 7But after some time the torrent was dried up, for it had not rained upon the earth. |
| 8有上主的话传於厄里亚说： | 8Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying: |
| 9「你起身往漆冬匝尔法特去，住在那里；我已吩咐那里的一个寡妇供养你。」 | 9Arise, and go to Sarephta of the Sidonians, and dwell there: for I have commanded a widow woman there to feed thee. |
| 10他就起身往匝尔法特去了，来到城门时，看见一个寡妇在那里拾木柴。厄里亚唤她说：「请你用器皿取点水来给我喝！」 | 10He arose, and went to Sarephta. And when he was come to the gate of the city, he saw the widow woman gathering sticks, and he called her, and said to her: Give me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. |
| 11她正要去取水的时候，厄里亚又叫住她说：「请你也顺便给我拿点饼来！」 | 11And when she was going to fetch it he called after her, saying: Bring me also, I beseech thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand. |
| 12那寡妇说：「我指着永生上主你的天主起誓：我没有饼，缸里只有一把面，罐里还有一点油。你看，我正要拾两根木柴，回去为我和我的儿子做点东西，吃了等死。」 | 12And she answered: As the Lord thy God liveth, I have no bread, but only a handful of meal in a pot, and a little oil in a cruse: behold I am gathering two sticks that I may go in and dress it, for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. |
| 13厄里亚对她说：「你不用害怕，尽管照你所说的去做；只是先为我做一个小饼，给我拿来！然后，再为你和你的儿子做， | 13And Elias said to her: Fear not, but go, and do as thou hast said: but first make for me of the same meal a little hearth cake, and bring it to me: and after make for thyself and thy son. |
| 14因为上主以色列的天主这样说：直到上主使雨落在这地上的那一天，缸里的面，决不会用完；罐里的油，也决不会缺少。」 | 14For thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: The pot of meal shall not waste, nor the cruse of oil be diminished, until the day wherein the Lord will give rain upon the face of the earth. |
| 15那个寡妇就照厄里亚的话去做了；她和厄里亚并她的孩子吃了许多日子； | 15She went and did according to the word of Elias: and he ate, and she, and her house: and from that day |
| 16缸里的面，果然没有用完，罐里的油，也没有减少，正如上主藉厄里亚所说的话。 | 16The pot of meal wasted not, and the cruse of oil was not diminished, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke in the hand of Elias. |
| 17这事以后，那妇人，即那家的主母的儿子病了，病得很重，就断了气。 | 17And it came to pass after this that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick, and the sickness was very grievous, so that there was no breath left in him. |
| 18妇人於是对厄里亚说：「天主的人，我与你有什么关系？你到我这里来，竟叫上主记起我的罪恶，杀死了我的儿子！」 | 18And she said to Elias: What have I to do with thee, thou man of God? art thou come to me that my iniquities should be remembered, and that thou shouldst kill my son? |
| 19厄里亚对妇人说：「把你的儿子交给我！」於是厄里亚从她怀里接过孩子来，抱到他住的楼上，放在自己的床上， | 19And Elias said to her: Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him into the upper chamber where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed. |
| 20呼求上主说：「上主，我的天主！我寄居在这寡妇家中，难道你也忍心加害於她，杀死她的儿子吗？」 | 20And he cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, hast thou afflicted also the widow, with whom I am after a so maintained, so as to kill her son? |
| 21厄里亚三次伏在孩子身上，呼求上主说：「上主，我的天主，求你使这孩子的灵魂再回到他身上！」 | 21And he stretched, and measured himself upon the child three times, and cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, let the soul of this child, I beseech thee, return into his body. |
| 22上主听了厄里亚的呼求，孩子的灵魂又回到他身上，孩子就又活了。 | 22And the Lord heard the voice of Elias: and the soul of the child returned into him, and he revived. |
| 23厄里亚将孩子从楼上抱下来，到房间内，把孩子交给他母亲说：「看，你儿子活了！」 | 23And Elias took the child, and brought him down from the upper chamber to the house below, and delivered him to his mother, and said to her: Behold thy son liveth. |
| 24那妇人对厄里亚说：「现在我知道你是天主的人，上主藉你的口所说的话，确是真理。」 | 24And the woman said to Elias: Now, by this I know that thou art a man of God, and the word of the Lord in thy mouth is true. |
