列王纪(上)	1 Kings
¹撒罗满和埃及王法郎结亲，娶了法郎的公主，接她住在达味城，直等到他建完了自己的宫殿、上主的殿及耶路撒冷四围的城垣。	¹And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon, and he made affinity with Pharao the king of Egypt: for he took his daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
²百姓仍然在高丘上献祭，因为直到那时，还没有为上主的名建造殿宇。	²But yet the people sacrificed in the high places: far there was no temple built to the name of the Lord until that day.
³撒罗满爱慕上主，遵行他父亲达味的律例，只是仍在高丘上献祭焚香。	³And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the precepts of David his father, only he sacrificed in the high places: and burnt incense.
⁴撒罗满王去了基贝红，为在那里献祭，因为那是一个最广大的高丘。撒罗满在那里的祭坛上奉献了一千全燔祭。	⁴He went therefore to Gabaon, to sacrifice there: for that was the great high place: a thousand victims for holocausts did Solomon offer upon that altar in Gabaon.
⁵撒罗满在基贝红时，夜间上主藉梦显现给他；天主对他说：「你不拘求什么，我必给你。」	⁵And the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, saying: Ask what thou wilt that I should give thee.
⁶撒罗满说：「你的仆人，我的父亲达味曾以虔诚、公义及正直的心与你同行，你曾向他表示了伟大的恩德，又为给他保持这伟大的恩德，赐给了他一个儿子，坐在他的宝座上，如同今天一样。	⁶And Solomon said: Thou hast shewn great mercy to thy servant David my father, even at, he walked before thee in truth, and justice, and an upright heart with thee: and thou hast kept thy great mercy for him, and hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
⁷上主，我的天主，现在你使你的仆人替代我父亲达味为王，但我还太年轻，不知道如何处理国事。	⁷And now, O Lord God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a child, and know not how to go out and come in.
⁸你的仆人是住在你所选的民族中间，这是一个多得不可统计，不可胜数的大民族。	⁸And thy servant is in the midst of the people which thou hast chosen, an immense people, which cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
⁹为此，求你赐给你的仆人一颗慧心，可统治你的百姓，判断善恶；否则，谁能统治你这样众多的人民呢？」	⁹Give therefore to thy servant an understanding heart, to judge thy people, and discern between good and evil. For who shall be able to judge this people, thy people which is so numerous?
¹⁰因为撒罗满求了这件事，获得了上主的欢心。	¹⁰And the word was pleasing to the Lord that Solomon had asked such a thing.
¹¹天主於是对他说：「因为你求了这件事，而没有为你自己求长壽，也没有为你自己求富贵，也没有要求你敌人的性命，单单为你自己求了智慧，为能辨明正义。	¹¹And the Lord said to Solomon: Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life or riches, nor the lives of thy enemies, but hast asked for thyself wisdom to discern judgment,
¹²我必照你的话作，赏赐你一颗聪明智慧的心，在你以前没有像你的人，在你以后，也不会兴起一个像你的人。	¹²Behold I have done for thee according to thy words, and have given thee a wise and understanding heart, insomuch that there hath been no one like thee before thee, nor shall arise after thee.
¹³你没有要求的荣华富贵，我也赏赐你，使你在列王中，一生没有可与你相比的。	¹³Yea and the things also which thou didst not ask, I have given thee: to wit riches and glory, as that no one hath been like thee among the kings in all days heretofore.
¹⁴如果你履行我的道路，恪守我的法律和我的命令，一如你父亲达味所行的，我必要延长你的壽命。」	¹⁴And if thou wilt walk in my ways, and keep my precepts, and my commandments, as thy father walked, I will lengthen thy days.
¹⁵撒罗满醒来，才知原是一梦；以后他回了耶路撒冷，立在上主约柜前，奉献了全燔祭与和平祭，设宴款待了自己所有的臣仆。	¹⁵And Solomon awaked, and perceived that it was a dream: and when he was come to Jerusalem, he stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and offered holocausts, and sacrificed victims of peace offerings, and made a great feast for all his servants.
¹⁶有一天，有两个妓女来见君王，立在君王面前。	¹⁶Then there came two women that were harlots, to the king, and stood before him:
¹⁷一个女人说：「我主，我和这个女人同住一房，在这房里，我靠着她生了一个孩子。	¹⁷And one of them said: I beseech thee, my lord, I and this woman dwelt in one house, and I was delivered of a child with her in the chamber.
¹⁸我生产后第三天，这个女人也生了一个孩子。我们住在一起，在这房里，除我们二人外，再没有別人住在这房里。	¹⁸And the third day, after that I was delivered, she also was delivered, and we were together, and no other person with us in the house, only we two.
¹⁹有一夜，这个女人的儿子死了，是因为她睡觉压死的。	¹⁹And this woman's child died in the night: for in her sleep she overlaid him.
²⁰她半夜起来，趁你婢女熟睡时，从我身边抱去我的儿子，放在她怀里，把她死了的儿子，放在我怀里。	²⁰And rising in the dead time of the night, she took my child from my side, while I thy handmaid was asleep, and laid it in her bosom: and laid her dead child in my bosom.
²¹当我清早起来，给孩子餵奶时，发觉孩子死了；及至天亮，我仔细一看，发觉他不是我亲生的儿子。」	²¹And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold it was dead: but considering him more diligently when it was clear day, I found that it was not mine which I bore.
²²另一个女人说：「不是的，活的是我的儿子，死的是你的儿子。」这个女人说：「不是的，死的是你的儿子，活的是我的儿子。」她们俩就这样在君王面前争论不休。	²²And the other woman answered: It is not so as thou sayest, but thy child is dead, and mine is alive. On the contrary she said: Thou liest: for my child liveth, and thy child is dead. And in this manner they strove before the king.
²³君王说：「这一个说：活的是我的儿子，死的是你的儿子；那一个说：不是的，死的是你的儿子，活的是我的儿子。」	²³Then said the king: The one saith, My child is alive, and thy child is dead. And the other answereth: Nay, but thy child is dead, and mine liveth.
²⁴君王吩咐说：「给我拿把刀来！」人就给君王拿来了一把刀。	²⁴The king therefore said: Bring me a sword. And when they had brought a sword before the king,
²⁵君王遂下令说：「把那活孩子劈成两半：一半给这一个，一半给那一个。」	²⁵Divide, said he, the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
²⁶那活孩子的母亲因为爱子心切，就对君王说：「我主，请把活孩子给那女人罢！千万不要杀他！」那个女人说：「劈开罢！这孩子不归我，也不归你！」	²⁶But the woman whose child was alive, said to the king, (for her bowels were moved upon her child,) I beseech thee, my lord, give her the child alive, and do not kill it. But the other said: Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.
²⁷君王於是宣判说：「将活孩子给这个女人，不要杀他。这个女人实在是他的母亲！」	²⁷The king answered, and said: Give the living child to this woman, and let it not be killed, for she is the mother thereof.
²⁸全以色列人听了君王所断的案件，便都尊敬君王，因为他们见他断案时，具有天主的智慧。	²⁸And all Israel heard the judgment which the king had judged, and they feared the king, seeing that the wisdom of God was in him to do judgment.
