| 1阿撒当国第三十六年，以色列王巴厄沙来进攻犹大，在辣玛修筑工事，防止人同犹大王阿撒来往。 | 1And in the six and thirtieth year of his kingdom, Baasa the king of Israel came up against Juda, and built a wall about Rama, that no one might safely go out or come in of the kingdom of Asa. |
| 2当时阿撒拿出上主殿内和王宫府库中的金银，送给住在大马士革的阿兰王本哈达得说： | 2Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the Lord, and of the king's treasures, and sent to Benadad king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying: |
| 3「我与你之间，以及我父与你父之间都立过约；现在我给你送来金银作为礼品，请你废除你与以色列王巴厄沙所立的约，使他离开我的国境。」 | 3There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father, wherefore I have sent thee silver and gold, that thou mayst break thy league with Baasa king of Israel, and make him depart from me. |
| 4本哈达得听从了阿撒王的话，即刻派军长，去攻打以色列的城市，攻下了依雍、丹、阿贝耳玛因和纳斐塔里所有的屯货城。 | 4And then Benadad heard this, he sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel: and they took Ahion, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the walled cities of Nephtali. |
| 5巴厄沙一听说这事，立即停止在辣玛的工事。 | 5And when Baasa heard of it, he left off the building of Rama, and interrupted his work. |
| 6阿撒王遂征调全犹大人，将巴厄沙修筑辣玛所用的石头和木材运走，用来修筑革巴和米兹帕。 | 6Then king Asa took all Juda, and they carried away from Rama the stones, and the timber that Baasa had prepared for the building: and he built with them Gabaa, and Maspha. |
| 7那时，先见者哈纳尼来见犹大王阿撒，对他说：「因为你依靠了阿兰，而没有依靠上主你的天主，因此阿兰王的军队脱离了你。 | 7At that time Hanani the prophet came to Asa king of Juda, and said to him: Because thou hast had confidence in the king of Syria, and not in the Lord thy God, therefore hath the army of the king of Syria escaped out of thy hand. |
| 8雇士人和利比亚人不是一支很强大的军队吗？战车骑兵不是很多吗？但几时你依靠上主，他便将他们交在你的手中。 | 8Were not the Ethiopians, and the Libyans much more numerous in chariots, and horsemen, and an exceeding great multitude: yet because thou trustedst in the Lord, he delivered them into thy hand? |
| 9上主的眼遍察各地，对所有专心忠于他的，他必大显威能，加以扶助。你这事作得太无知了，今后你必要遭遇战祸。」 | 9For the eyes of the Lord behold all the earth, and give strength to those who with a perfect heart trust in him. Wherefore thou hast done foolishly, and for this cause from this time wars shall arise against thee. |
| 10阿撒对先见者发怒，将他囚在狱中；王在这事上实在生了大气，同时阿撒又虐待了一些百姓。 | 10And Asa was angry with the seer, and commanded him to be put in prison: for he was greatly enraged because of this thing: and he put to death many of the people at that time. |
| 11阿撒的前后事蹟，都记载在《犹大和以色列列王实录》上。 | 11But the works of Asa the first and last are written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel. |
| 12阿撒当国第三十九年，患了足疾，病得十分严重；他在病中不求上主，而只求医。 | 12And Asa fell sick in the nine and thirtieth year of his reign, of a most violent pain in his feet, and yet in his illness he did not seek the Lord, but rather trusted in the skill of physicians. |
| 13阿撒在位四十一年逝世，与祖先同眠。 | 13And he slept with his fathers: and he died in the one and fortieth year of his reign. |
| 14人们将他葬在达味城，自己所凿的坟墓里，将他放在床上面，满堆香料，即照调香法所制的各种香料，又为他焚烧了很多的香料。 | 14And they buried him in his own sepulchre, which he had made for himself in the city of David: and they laid him on his bed full of spices and odoriferous ointments, which were made by the art of the perfumers, and they burnt them over him with very great pomp. |
