| 1阿哈次登极时年二十岁，在耶路撒冷作王凡十六年。他没有像他的祖先达味一样，行上主视为正义的事， | 1Achaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: he did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord as David his father had done, |
| 2却走了以色列列王的路，为巴耳诸神铸了像， | 2But walked in the ways of the kings of Israel; moreover also he cast statues for Baalim. |
| 3在本希农山谷焚香，仿效上主从以色列子民面前所赶走的异民所行的丑恶之事，令自己的儿女经火献神， | 3It was he that burnt incense in the valley of Benennom, and consecrated his sons in the fire according to the manner of the nations, which the Lord slew at the coming of the children of Israel. |
| 4又在高处、丘陵和绿树下焚香献祭。 | 4He sacrificed also, and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree. |
| 5因此，上主他的天主将他交于阿兰王手中，阿兰打败了他，掳去了他一大批人民，带到大马士革。上主又将他交于以色列王手中，大加杀戮。 | 5And the Lord his God delivered him into the hands of the king of Syria, who defeated him, and took a great booty out of his kingdom, and carried it to Damascus: he was also delivered into the hands of the king of Israel, who overthrew him with a great slaughter. |
| 6勒玛里雅的儿子培卡黑在犹大一日杀了十二万人，都是战士，因为他们离弃了上主，他们祖先的天主。 | 6For Phacee the son of Romelia slew of Juda a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, all valiant men: because they had forsaken the Lord the God of their fathers. |
| 7厄弗辣因一个名叫齐革黎的勇士，杀了王子玛阿色雅、王宫总管阿次黎冈和君王的辅相厄耳卡纳。 | 7At the same time Zechri a powerful man of Ephraim, slew Maasias the king's son, and Ezricam the governor of his house, and Elcana who was next to the king. |
| 8以色列子民由他们的弟兄中掳去了妇女和他们的子女，共二十万人，并掠去了许多财物，都带到撒玛黎雅。 | 8And the children of Israel carried away of their brethren two hundred thousand women, boys, and girls, and an immense booty: and they brought it to Samaria. |
| 9在那里有一位上主的先知，名叫敖德得，出来迎接回撒玛黎雅的军队，向他们说：「看，上主，你们祖先的天主，由于向犹大发怒，才将他们交在你们手中，你们却怒气冲天，大加杀戮； | 9At that time there was a prophet of the Lord there, whose name was Oded: and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them: Behold the Lord the God of your fathers being angry with Juda, hath delivered them into your hands, and you have butchered them cruelly, so that your cruelty hath reached up to heaven. |
| 10现在你们又想强迫犹大和耶路撒冷的子民作你们的奴婢；难道你们自己就没有干犯上主，你们天主的罪恶吗？ | 10Moreover you have a mind to keep under the children of Juda and Jerusalem for your bondmen and bondwomen, which ought not to be done: for you have sinned in this against the Lord your God. |
| 11现在，你们听我的话，将由你们弟兄中掳来的俘虏放回去，因为上主的震怒已临到你们身上。」 | 11But hear ye my counsel, and release the captives that you have brought of your brethren, because a great indignation of the Lord hangeth over you. |
| 12那时厄弗辣因子民的首领中有几个人，即约哈南的儿子阿匝黎雅，默史肋摩特的儿子贝勒革雅，沙隆的儿子希则克雅和哈德来的儿子阿玛撒，就起来反对归来的军队， | 12Then some of the chief men of the sons of Ephraim, Azarias the son of Johanan, Barachias the son of Mosollamoth, Ezechias the son of Sellum, and Amasa the son of Adali, stood up against them that came from the war. |
| 13对他们说：「不可将俘虏带到这里来，因为你们想使我们得罪上主，来增加我们的罪恶和过犯！我们的过犯已经够重了，上主的震怒已临于以色列。」 | 13And they said to them: You shall not bring in the captives hither, lest we sin against the Lord. Why will you add to our sins, and heap up upon our former offences? for the sin is great, and the fierce anger of the Lord hangeth over Israel. |
| 14军队立即将掳来的人和抢来的财物，留在首领和全会众面前。 | 14So the soldiers left the spoils, and all that they had taken, before the princes and all the multitude. |
| 15以上题名的那几个人便起来，领去被掳的人，其中有赤身的，便从所掠取的财物中，取出衣服来给他们穿，给他们鞋穿，又给他们吃喝，且给他们擦油；又将所有软弱的人，放在驴上，送到棕榈城耶里哥，他们的弟兄那里；以后，便回了撒玛黎雅。 | 15And the men, whom we mentioned above, rose up and took the captives, and with the spoils clothed all them that were naked: and when they had clothed and shed them, and refreshed them with meat and drink, and anointed them because of their labour, and had taken care of them, they set such of them as could not walk, and were feeble, upon beasts, and brought them to Jericho the city of palm trees to their brethren, and they returned to Samaria. |
| 16那时，阿哈次派人去亚述王那里求救， | 16At that time king Achaz sent to the king of the Assyrians asking help. |
| 17因为厄东人又来攻打犹大，掳去了许多人民； | 17And the Edomites came and slew many of Juda, and took a great booty. |
| 18培肋舍特人也侵入了平原的城市和犹大的南方，占领了贝特舍默士、阿雅隆、革德洛特、索苛及其四郊村镇、提默纳及其四郊村镇、基默左及其四郊村镇，并住在那里。 | 18The Philistines also spread themselves among the cities of the plains, and to the south of Juda: and they took Bethsames, and Aialon, and Gaderoth, and Socho, and Thamnan, and Gamzo, with their villages, and they dwelt in them. |
| 19由于犹大王阿哈次在犹大肆无忌惮，背叛了上主，因此，上主压伏了犹大。 | 19For the Lord had humbled Juda because of Achaz the king of Juda, for he had stripped it of help, and had contemned the Lord. |
| 20亚述王提革拉特丕肋色尔到了他那里，不但没有协助，反而压迫了他。 | 20And he brought, against him Thelgathphalnasar king of the Assyrians, who also afflicted him, and plundered him without any resistance. |
| 21阿哈次强夺了上主殿内、王宫以及群臣家中的财宝，奉送给亚述王，但无济于事。 | 21And Achaz stripped the house of the Lord, and the house of the kings, and of the princes, and gave gifts to the king of the Assyrians, and yet it availed him nothing. |
| 22阿哈次王这个人越在困难之时，越发背叛上主， | 22Moreover also in the time of his distress he increased contempt against the Lord: king Achaz himself by himself, |
| 23他竟祭祀打败了他的大马士革的神说：「阿兰王的神，既协助了阿兰人，我也向他们献祭，好使他们也协助我。」但是那些神却使他与以色列民众陷于灭亡。 | 23Sacrificed victims to the gods of Damascus that struck him, and he said: The gods of the kings of Syria help them, and I will appease them with victims, and they will help me; whereas on the contrary they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel. |
| 24阿哈次又将上主殿内的器皿收集起来，将上主殿内的器皿予以粉碎，将上主殿宇的门封锁，在耶路撒冷每个角落设立祭坛， | 24Then Achaz having taken away all the vessels of the house of God, and broken them, shut up the doors of the temple of God, and made himself altars in all the corners of Jerusalem. |
| 25在犹大各城建立丘坛，向外邦的神焚香，这样激起了上主，他祖先的天主的震怒。 | 25And in all the cities of Juda he built altars to burn frankincense, and he provoked the Lord the God of his fathers to wrath. |
| 26阿哈次其余的事蹟和他行的一切，前前后后，都记载在《犹大和以色列列王实录》上。 | 26But the rest of his acts, and all his works first and last are written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel. |
| 27阿哈次与祖先同眠，葬在耶路撒冷城内，但没有将他葬在以色列王陵内。他的儿子希则克雅继位为王。 | 27And Achaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of Jerusalem: for they received him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel. And Ezechias his son reigned in his stead. |
