| 1犹大王阿哈次十二年，厄拉的儿子曷舍亚在撒玛黎雅登极为以色列王，在位凡九年。 | 1In the twelfth year of Achaz king of Juda, Osee the son of Ela reigned in Samaria over Israel nine years. |
| 2他行了上主视为恶的事，但不像他以前的以色列列王。 | 2And he did evil before the Lord: but not as the kings of Israel that had been before him. |
| 3亚述王沙耳玛乃色上来攻打曷舍亚，他便向亚述王称臣纳贡。 | 3Against him came up Salmanasar king of the Assyrians, and Osee became his servant, and paid him tribute. |
| 4后来亚述王发觉曷舍亚企图造反。原来曷舍亚曾派使者去见埃及王索阿，就不再向亚述王每年纳贡，所以亚述王将他拘捕，囚在监里。 | 4And when the king of the Assyrians found that Osee endeavouring to rebel had sent messengers to Sua the king of Egypt, that he might not pay tribute to the king of the Assyrians, as he had done every year, he besieged him, bound him, and cast him into prison, |
| 5随后，亚述王进军侵入全国，直逼撒玛黎雅，围攻了三年， | 5And he went through all the land: and going up to Samaria, he besieged it three years. |
| 6曷舍亚九年，亚述王攻陷了撒玛黎雅，把以色列人掳往亚述，把他们安置在哈拉黑和靠近哥仓河的哈波尔，以及玛待各城。 | 6And in the ninth year of Osee, the king of the Assyrians took Samaria, and carried Israel away to Assyria: and he placed them in Hala and Habor by the river of Gozan, in the cities of the Medes. |
| 7这是因为以色列子民犯罪，得罪了领他们离开埃及地，摆脱埃及王法郎之手的上主，他们的天主，而去敬拜了别的神， | 7For so it was that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharao king of Egypt, and they worshipped strange gods. |
| 8随从了上主由以色列子民面前，所驱逐的异民的习俗，和以色列列王所规定的律例。 | 8And they walked according to the way of the nations which the Lord had destroyed in the sight of the children of Israel and of the kings of Israel: because they had done in like manner. |
| 9以色列子民作了不义的事，得罪了上主他们的天主：在他们所有的城中，从守望台直到设防的城，到处建有高丘； | 9And the children of Israel offended the Lord their God with things that were not right: and built them high places in all their cities from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city. |
| 10在各高岗上，在所有的绿树下，竖有石柱和木偶； | 10And they made them statues and groves on every high hill, and under every shady tree: |
| 11在高丘上，依照上主从他们面前所驱逐的异民的习俗，焚香献祭，作恶激怒上主； | 11And they burnt incense there upon altars after the manner of the nations which the Lord had removed from their face: and they did wicked things, provoking the Lord. |
| 12又敬拜偶像，虽然天主曾明明吩咐他们说：你们不可行这样的事！ | 12And they worshipped abominations, concerning which the Lord had commanded them that they should not do this thing. |
| 13上主曾藉众先知和先见者警告以色列和犹大说：「你们应离弃你们的邪道，按照我给你们祖先所规定的，藉我的仆人，众先知给你们传授的一切法律，遵守我的诫命和我的法令。」 | 13And the Lord testified to them in Israel and in Juda by the hand of all the prophets and seers, saying: Return from your wicked ways, and keep my precepts, and ceremonies, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers: and as I have sent to you in the hand of my servants the prophets. |
| 14他们却不听从，如同他们的祖先一样执拗，不肯相信上主他们的天主， | 14And they hearkened not, but hardened their necks like to the neck of their fathers, who would not obey the Lord their God. |
| 15拒绝了上主的法律和他与他们的祖先所订立的盟约，以及对他们所发出的警告；随从他们四周上主曾命令他们不可效法的异民，追求虚无，自己成为虚无； | 15And they rejected his ordinances and the covenant that he made with their fathers, and the testimonies which he testified against them: and they followed vanities, and acted vainly: and they followed the nations that were round about them, concerning which the Lord had commanded them that they should not do as they did. |
| 16抛弃了上主他们天主的一切命令，为自己铸造神像，即两个牛犊，制造木偶，敬拜天上万象，事奉巴耳， | 16And they forsook all the precepts of the Lord their God: and made to themselves two molten calves, and groves, and adored all the host of heaven: and they served Baal. |
| 17使儿女经火献神，行占卜和法术，出卖自己，行上主视为恶的事，激怒上主； | 17And consecrated their sons, and their daughters through fire: and they gave themselves to divinations, and soothsayings: and they delivered themselves up to do evil before the Lord, to provoke him. |
| 18因此，上主对以色列大发愤怒，将他们从自己面前赶走，只留下了犹大支派。 | 18And the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them from his sight, and there remained only the tribe of Juda. |
| 19但是，犹大也没有遵守上主，他们天主的命令，反而也随从了以色列所行的习俗。 | 19But neither did Juda itself keep the commandments of the Lord their God: but they walked in the errors of Israel, which they had wrought. |
| 20为此，上主抛弃了以色列所有的后裔，使他们受压迫，任人宰割，终于将他们从自己面前赶走。 | 20And the Lord cast off all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, till he cast them away from his face: |
| 21的确，自从上主使以色列与达味家分裂以后，以色列便立了乃巴特的儿子雅洛贝罕为王；雅洛贝罕即引以色列远进了上主，使他们陷于重罪。 | 21Even from that time, when Israel was rent from the house of David, and made Jeroboam son of Nabat their king: for Jeroboam separated Israel from the Lord, and made them commit a great sin. |
| 22以色列子民遂追随雅洛贝罕所犯的一切罪恶，始终没有离开， | 22And the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam, which he had done: and they departed not from them, |
| 23直到上主将以色列从自己面前赶走，正如上主藉自己的仆人众先知说的话。因此，以色列由本国被掳往亚述，直到今日。 | 23Till the Lord removed Israel from his face, as he had spoken in the hand of all his servants the prophets: and Israel was carried away out of their land to Assyria, unto this day. |
| 24亚述王从巴比伦、雇特、阿瓦、哈玛特和色法瓦因徙置一些人民，住在撒玛黎雅各城，以代替以色列人；这些人占据了撒玛黎雅，就住在各城内。 | 24And the king of the Assyrians brought people from Babylon, and from Cutha, and from Avah, and from Emath, and from Sepharvaim: and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof. |
| 25他们起初住在那里的时候，因为不敬畏上主，所以上主打发狮子来，咬死了他们一些人。 | 25And when they began to dwell there, they feared not the Lord: and the Lord sent lions among them, which killed them. |
| 26有人报告亚述王说：「你在撒玛黎雅各城徙置的人民，不知敬拜土神的礼仪，因此那神打发狮子来咬死了他们一些人，因为他们不知敬拜土神的礼仪。」 | 26And it was told the king of the Assyrians, and it was said: The nations which thou hast removed, and made to dwell in the cities of Samaria, know not the ordinances of the God of the land: and the Lord hath sent lions among them: and behold they kill them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land. |
| 27亚述王于是下令说：「你们叫一个从撒玛黎雅掳来的司祭回去，住在那里，教给他们敬拜土神的礼仪。」 | 27And the king of the Assyrians commanded, saying: Carry thither one of the priests whom you brought from thence captive, and let him go, and dwell with them: and let him teach them the ordinances of the God of the land. |
| 28于是，有一个从撒玛黎雅掳去的司祭回来，住在贝特耳，教给他们该怎样敬拜雅威。 | 28So one of the priests who had been carried away captive from Samaria, came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should worship the Lord. |
| 29虽然如此，各个民族仍然制造自己的神，供在撒玛黎雅人所建筑的高丘上的庙宇中；各个民族在自己所住的城内，供著自己的神。 | 29And every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the temples of the high places, which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities where they dwelt. |
| 30巴比伦人制造了稣苛特贝诺特，雇特人制造了乃尔加耳，哈玛特人制造了阿史玛， | 30For the men of Babylon made Sochothbenoth: and the Cuthites made Nergel: and the men of Emath made Asima. |
| 31阿瓦人制造了尼贝哈次和塔尔塔克，色法瓦因人使儿女经火，献于色法瓦因的神阿德辣默肋客和阿纳默肋客； | 31And the Hevites made Nebahaz and Tharthac. And they that were of Sepharvaim burnt their children in fire, to Adramelech and Anamelech the gods of Sepharvaim. |
| 32同时他们也敬拜上主，从自己中间选派一些人作高丘上的司祭，在高丘上的庙宇内自己献祭。 | 32And nevertheless they worshipped the Lord. And they made to themselves, of the lowest of the people, priests of the high places, and they placed them in the temples of the high places. |
| 33这样，他们也敬拜上主，也奉事自己的神，从那一国徙置来的，就照那一国的礼仪。 | 33And when they worshipped the Lord, they served also their own gods according to the custom of the nations out of which they were brought to Samaria: |
| 34直到今日，他们仍然依照先前的礼仪而行。雅各伯──上主给他改名为以色列──的子孙，也不全心敬畏上主，也不按照上主给他们所立的条例、礼仪、法律和诫命而行。 | 34Unto this day they followed the old manner: they fear not the Lord, neither do they keep his ceremonies, and judgments, and law, and the commandment, which the Lord commanded the children of Jacob, whom he surnamed Israel: |
| 35上主曾与他们立约，吩咐他们说：「你们不可敬拜别的神，也不可跪拜，也不可事奉，也不可向他们献祭； | 35With whom he made a covenant, and charged them, saying: You shall not fear strange gods, nor shall you adore them, nor worship them, nor sacrifice to them. |
| 36只应敬拜那以强力和伸展的手臂，领你们离开埃及地的上主，只应向他跪拜，向他献祭。 | 36But the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power, and a stretched out arm, him shall you fear, and him shall you adore, and to him shall you sacrifice. |
| 37我为你们写定的条例、礼仪、法律和诫命，要时常谨守遵行，不可敬拜别的神。 | 37And the ceremonies, and judgments, and law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do them always: and you shall not fear strange gods. |
| 38我与你们立的盟约，不要忘记，也不要敬拜别的神， | 38And the covenant that he made with you, you shall not forget: neither shall ye worship strange gods, |
| 39只应敬拜上主你们的天主，他必拯救你们脱离你们一切仇敌的权势。」 | 39But fear the Lord your God, and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. |
| 40然而，他们不听，仍然依照他们先前的礼仪而行。 | 40But they did not hearken, but did according to their old custom. |
| 41这样，这些人民敬拜上主，又事奉他们的彫像；他们的子子孙孙也是如此：祖先怎样行，子孙也怎样行，直到今日。 | 41So these nations feared the Lord, but nevertheless served also their idols: their children also and grandchildren, as their fathers did, so do they unto this day. |
