¹宗徒和在犹太的弟兄听说了，连外邦人也接受了天主的圣道。	¹And the apostles and brethren, who were in Judea, heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
²及至伯多禄上到耶路撒冷，那些受割损的人非难他	²And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
³说：「你竟进了未受割损人的家，且同他们吃了饭！」	³Saying: Why didst thou go in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them?
⁴伯多禄便开始按次解释说：	⁴But Peter began and declared to them the matter in order, saying:
⁵「我在约培城祈祷的时候，在神魂超拔中见了一个异像：由天上降下一个器皿，好像一块大布，系着四角，从天缒下，一直来到我面前。	⁵I was in the city of Joppe praying, and I saw in an ecstasy of mind a vision, a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners, and it came even unto me.
⁶我往里面定睛细看，见有地上的四足兽、野兽、爬虫和天空的飞鸟。	⁶Into which looking, I considered, and saw fourfooted creatures of the earth, and beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air:
⁷我也听到有声音向我说：伯多禄！起来，宰了，吃罢！	⁷And I heard also a voice saying to me: Arise, Peter; kill and eat.
⁸我却答说：主，绝对不可！因为污秽和不洁之物总没有进过我的口。	⁸And I said: Not so, Lord; for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.
⁹第二次有声音从天上答道：天主称为洁净的，你不可称为污秽！	⁹And the voice answered again from heaven: What God hath made clean, do not thou call common.
¹⁰这事竟一连发生了三次。以后，那一切又撤回天上去了。	¹⁰And this was done three times: and all were taken up again into heaven.
¹¹正在那时，忽有三个人，来到我们所住的家门前，他们是从凯撒勒雅被派来见我的。	¹¹And behold, immediately there were three men come to the house wherein I was, sent to me from Caesarea.
¹²圣神吩咐我应与他们同去，不必疑惑。同我一起去的，还有这六个弟兄，我们就进了那人的家。	¹²And the Spirit said to me, that I should go with them, nothing doubting. And these six brethren went with me also: and we entered into the man's house.
¹³那人告诉了我们：他怎样看见天使站在他的屋内，说：你要打发人到约培去，邀请号称伯多禄的西满来。	¹³And he told us how he had seen an angel in his house, standing, and saying to him: Send to Joppe, and call hither Simon, who is surnamed Peter,
¹⁴他有话对你讲，使你和你全家得救。	¹⁴Who shall speak to thee words, whereby thou shalt be saved, and all thy house.
¹⁵以后，在我开始讲话时，圣神就降在他们身上，有如当初降在我们身上一样。	¹⁵And when I had begun to speak, the Holy Ghost fell upon them, as upon us also in the beginning.
¹⁶我就想起了主所说的话：若翰固然用水施了洗，但你们却要因圣神受洗。	¹⁶And I remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said: John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
¹⁷所以，如果天主赐给了他们同样的恩惠，如同给我们信主耶稣基督的人一样，我是什么人，能阻止天主呢？」	¹⁷If then God gave them the same grace, as to us also who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, that could withstand God?
¹⁸众人听了这话，才平静下来，并光荣天主说：「原来天主也恩赐外邦人悔改，为得生命。」	¹⁸Having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying: God then hath also to the Gentiles given repentance unto life.
¹⁹在斯德望受害时，那些由于窘难而四散的人，经过各地，来到了腓尼基、塞浦路斯和安提约基雅，他们只向犹太人讲道。	¹⁹Now they who had been dispersed by the persecution that arose on occasion of Stephen, went about as far as Phenice and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to none, but to the Jews only.
²⁰但其中有些塞浦路斯和基勒乃人到了安提约基雅，也向希腊人讲道，宣传主耶稣的福音。	²⁰But some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they were entered into Antioch, spoke also to the Greeks, preaching the Lord Jesus.
²¹主的手同他们在一起，信而归主的人，数目很多。	²¹And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believing, were converted to the Lord.
²²这事传到了耶路撒冷教会的耳中，就打发巴尔纳伯到安提约基雅去。	²²And the tidings came to the ears of the church that was at Jerusalem, touching these things: and they sent Barnabas as far as Antioch.
²³他一来到，看见天主所赐的恩惠就很喜欢，并劝勉众人要决心坚定于主。	²³Who, when he was come, and had seen the grace of God, rejoiced: and he exhorted them all with purpose of heart to continue in the Lord.
²⁴因为他是好人，充满圣神和信德，如此有许多人归附了主。	²⁴For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith. And a great multitude was added to the Lord.
²⁵以后，他往塔尔索去找扫禄；	²⁵And Barnabas went to Tarsus to seek Saul: whom, when he had found, he brought to Antioch.
²⁶找着以后，便领他回到安提约基雅。他们一整年在那教会中共同工作，教导了许多人；在安提约基雅最先称门徒为「基督徒」。	²⁶And they conversed there in the church a whole year; and they taught a great multitude, so that at Antioch the disciples were first named Christians.
²⁷在那时候，有些先知从耶路撒冷下到安提约基雅。	²⁷And in these days there came prophets from Jerusalem to Antioch:
²⁸其中一个名叫阿加波的，因神示起来预言在普世上将有大饥荒，这饥荒就在喀劳狄时发生了。	²⁸And one of them named Agabus, rising up, signified by the Spirit, that there should be a great famine over the whole world, which came to pass under Claudius.
²⁹门徒遂决定，每人按力捐献，把救济物资送给住在犹太的弟兄。	²⁹And the disciples, every man according to his ability, purposed to send relief to the brethren who dwelt in Judea:
³⁰他们都照办了，由巴尔纳伯和扫禄经手，送到长老那里。	³⁰Which also they did, sending it to the ancients, by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
