¹阿格黎帕向保禄说：「准你为自己辩护。」那时，保禄便伸起手来，辩护说：	¹Then Agrippa said to Paul: Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretching forth his hand, began to make his answer.
²「阿格黎帕王！我今天能在你跟前，对于犹太人所控告我的一切事，得以辩护，我觉得十分幸运，	²I think myself happy, O king Agrippa, that I am to answer for myself this day before thee, touching all the things whereof I am accused by the Jews.
³尤其你熟悉犹太人的一切习俗和争端，所以我求你忍耐听我。	³Especially as thou knowest all, both customs and questions that are among the Jews: Wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
⁴我自幼年以来，从起初在我民族中，以及在耶路撒冷，处世为人如何，犹太人都知道。	⁴And my life indeed from my youth, which was from the beginning among my own nation in Jerusalem, all the Jews do know:
⁵假如他们肯作证的话，他们从很早就知道：我是按照我们教中最严格的宗派，度着法利塞人的生活。	⁵Having known me from the beginning (if they will give testimony) that according to the most sure sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
⁶现在，我因希望天主对我们祖先的恩许，而站在这里受审。	⁶And now for the hope of the promise that was made by God to the fathers, do I stand subject to judgment:
⁷我们十二支派，日夜勤恳地事奉天主，希望这许诺到来。王啊！正是为了这个希望，我为犹太人所控告。	⁷Unto which, our twelve tribes, serving night and day, hope to come. For which hope, O king, I am accused by the Jews.
⁸天主既使死人复活了，为什么你们竟断为不可信呢？	⁸Why should it be thought a thing incredible, that God should raise the dead?
⁹本来，我本人过去也认为，应尽力反对纳匝肋人耶稣的名，	⁹And I indeed did formerly think, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
¹⁰我在耶路撒冷就这样作过。我不但从司祭长那里取得权柄，把许多圣者关在监里；而且他们被杀时，我还投了票。	¹⁰Which also I did at Jerusalem, and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority of the chief priests: and when they were put to death, I brought the sentence.
¹¹我也曾在各会堂里，多次用刑，强迫他们说亵渎的话；而且分外狂怒地迫害他们，直到外邦的城市。	¹¹And oftentimes punishing them, in every synagogue, I compelled them to blaspheme: and being yet more mad against them, I persecuted them even unto foreign cities.
¹²在这期间，我曾取得司祭长的权柄和准许，往大马士革去。	¹²Whereupon when I was going to Damascus with authority and permission of the chief priest,
¹³王啊!时当正午，我在路上看见一道光，比太阳还亮，从天上环照着我，和与我同行的人；	¹³At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me, and them that were in company with me.
¹⁴我们都跌倒在地。我听见有声音用希伯来话向我说：『扫禄，扫禄，你为什么迫害我？向刺锥踢去，为你是难堪的。』	¹⁴And when we were all fallen down on the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me in the Hebrew tongue: Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the goad.
¹⁵我说：『主！你是谁？』主说：『我就是你所迫害的耶稣。	¹⁵And I said: Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord answered: I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
¹⁶但是，你起来，站好，因为我显现给你，正是为了要选派你为我服务，并为你见到我的事，以及我将要显现给你的事作证。	¹⁶But rise up, and stand upon thy feet: for to this end have I appeared to thee, that I may make thee a minister, and a witness of those things which thou hast seen, and of those things wherein I will appear to thee,
¹⁷我把你从这百姓及外邦人中救出，是要打发你到他们那里去，	¹⁷Delivering thee from the people, and from the nations, unto which now I send thee:
¹⁸开明他们的眼，叫他们从黑暗中转入光明，由撒殚权下归向天主，好使他们因信我而获得罪赦，并在圣化的人中得有分子。』	¹⁸To open their eyes, that they may be converted from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and a lot among the saints, by the faith that is in me.
¹⁹因此，阿格黎帕！我对这天上的异像并没有失信，	¹⁹Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not incredulous to the heavenly vision:
²⁰相反地，我首先向大马士革和耶路撒冷以及犹太全境的人，然后向外邦人传报，叫他们悔改，归向天主，作与悔改相称的作为。	²⁰But to them first that are at Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and unto all the country of Judea, and to the Gentiles did I preach, that they should do penance, and turn to God, doing works worthy of penance.
²¹正是为了这个缘故，犹太人在殿里把我拿住，想要向我下毒手；	²¹For this cause the Jews, when I was in the temple, having apprehended me, went about to kill me.
²²但我得蒙天主的助祐，直到今天我还站得住，向卑微和尊高的人作证。我所讲的，不外乎先知和梅瑟所说过的，必将成就的事：	²²But being aided by the help of God, I stand unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other thing than those which the prophets, and Moses did say should come to pass:
²³就是默西亚怎样必须受难，怎样必须由死者中作复活起来的第一人，将光明传布给这百姓及外邦人。」	²³That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light to the people, and to the Gentiles.
²⁴保禄辩护到这里，斐斯托大声说：「保禄，你疯了！学问太多把你弄疯了。」	²⁴As he spoke these things, and made his answer, Festus said with a loud voice: Paul, thou art beside thyself: much learning doth make thee mad.
²⁵保禄却说：「斐斯托大人！我没有疯，相反，我说的是真理和清醒的话。	²⁵And Paul said: I am not mad, most excellent Festus, but I speak words of truth and soberness.
²⁶因为王知道这些事，我便向他放心讲论。我深信这些事没有一件瞒得过他的，因为这不是在偏僻角落里行的。	²⁶For the king knoweth of these things, to whom also I speak with confidence. For I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him. For neither was any of these things done in a corner.
²⁷阿格黎帕王！你信先知吗？我知道你信。」	²⁷Believest thou the prophets, O king Agrippa? I know that thou believest.
²⁸阿格黎帕向保禄说：「你差一点就劝服我作了基督徒！」	²⁸And Agrippa said to Paul: In a little thou persuadest me to become a Christian.
²⁹保禄说：「差一点也罢！差的多也罢！我总祈望天主，不但叫你，而且也叫今天听我的众人，除了这些锁链以外，都要像我一样。」	²⁹And Paul said: I would to God, that both in a little and in much, not only thou, but also all that hear me, this day, should become such as I also am, except these bands.
³⁰于是王、总督和贝勒尼切，以及和他们同坐的人都起来，	³⁰And the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them.
³¹退到一边，彼此谈论说：「这人并没有作过什么该死，或该监禁的事。」	³¹And when they were gone aside, they spoke among themselves, saying: This man hath done nothing worthy of death or of bands.
³²阿格黎帕对斐斯托说：「这人若没有向凯撒上诉，早就可以释放了。」	³²And Agrippa said to Festus: This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed to Caesar.
