| 1吾主上主叫我看见这事：看，有一篮熟果子。 | 1These things the Lord shewed to me: and behold a hook to draw down the fruit. |
| 2上主说：「亚毛斯，你看见了什么？」我答说：「一篮熟果子。」上主又向我说：「我百姓以色列的结局已成熟，我不再放过她。 | 2And he said: What seest thou, Amos? And I said: A hook to draw down fruit. And the Lord said to me: The end is come upon my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more. |
| 3在那一天，王宫中的歌女必要哀号──吾主上主的断语──尸体成堆，抛在各处；鸦雀无声。」 | 3And the hinges of the temple shall screak in that day, saith the Lord God: many shall die: silence shall be cast in every place. |
| 4压榨穷人，使世上弱小绝迹的人哪！你们应听。 | 4Hear this, you that crush the poor, and make the needy of the land to fail, |
| 5你们说：「月朔几时才过去，好让我们卖五谷？安息日几时才过去，好让我们打开粮仓，缩小『厄法』，加重『协刻耳』，用假秤欺人？ | 5Saying: When will the month be over, and we shall sell our wares: and the sabbath, and we shall open the corn: that we may lessen the measure, and increase the sicle, and may convey in deceitful balances, |
| 6用银钱购买穷人，以一双鞋换取贫人，连麦糠也卖掉？」 | 6That we may possess the needy for money, and the poor for a pair of shoes, and may sell the refuse of the corn? |
| 7上主指着雅各伯的夸耀起誓说：「我永不会忘了他们的所作所为。 | 7The Lord hath sworn against the pride of Jacob: surely I will never forget all their works. |
| 8难道不是因此大地才震动，地上的居民才悲号，全地氾滥有如尼罗，退落有如埃及大河？ | 8Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein: and rise up altogether as a river, and be cast out, and run down as the river of Egypt? |
| 9在那一天──吾主上主的断语──我必使太阳在中午落下，使大地白昼变为黑暗； | 9And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that the sun shall go down at midday, and I will make the earth dark in the day of light: |
| 10使你们的喜庆变为丧事，使你们的一切乐曲变为哀歌，使你们都腰系苦衣，头都剃光；使你们哀悼，如哀悼独生子，使那一天始终是愁苦的日子。 | 10And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation: and I will bring up sackcloth upon every back of yours, and baldness upon every head: and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the latter end thereof as a bitter day. |
| 11看，那些日子一来临──吾主上主的断语──我必使饥饿临于此地，不是对食物的饥饿，也不是对水的饥渴，而是对听上主的话的饥渴。 | 11Behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will send forth a famine into the land: not a famine of bread, nor a thirst of water, but of hearing the word of the Lord. |
| 12他们必由这海走到那海，由北至东，去寻求上主的话，但却寻不到。 | 12And they shall move from sea to sea, and from the north to the east: they shall go about seeking the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. |
| 13在那一天，美丽的处女和健壮的青年，必因饥渴而晕眩。 | 13In that day the fair virgins, and the young men shall faint for thirst. |
| 14那些指着撒玛黎雅的罪过起誓，那些说：『丹，你的神永在』，或说：『贝尔舍巴，你的护守神永在』的人，必要跌倒，再不能起来。」 | 14They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say: Thy God, O Dan, liveth: and the way of Bersabee liveth: and they shall fall, and shall rise no more. |
