| 1波斯王居鲁士第三年，那名叫贝耳特沙匝的达尼尔得了一个启示，这启示是真实的，是有关一场大战的事；达尼尔注意了这事，也明白了这异象。 | 1In the third year of Cyrus king of the Persians, a word was revealed to Daniel surnamed Baltassar, and a true word, and great strength: and he understood the word: for there is need of understanding in a vision. |
| 2在这些日子里，我达尼尔忧闷了三个星期： | 2In those days I Daniel mourned the days of three weeks. |
| 3我食不知味，酒肉也没有沾过唇，也没有用油抹过身，直到满了三个星期。 | 3I ate no desirable bread, and neither flesh, nor wine entered into my mouth, neither was I anointed with ointment: till the days of three weeks were accomplished. |
| 4正月二十四日，我在底格里斯大河边时， | 4And in the four and twentieth day of the first month I was by the great river which is the Tigris. |
| 5我举目观望：看见有一个人身穿麻衣，腰束敖非尔金带， | 5And I lifted up my eyes, and I saw: and behold a man clothed in linen, and his loins were girded with the finest gold: |
| 6他的身体好像碧玉，他的面容好似闪电，他的眼睛有如火炬，他的手臂和腿有如磨光了的铜，他说话的声音仿佛群众的喧嚷。 | 6And his body was like the chrysolite, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as a burning lamp: and his arms, and all downward even to the feet, like in appearance to glittering brass: and the voice of his word like the voice of a multitude. |
| 7惟独我达尼尔看见了这异象，随从我的人都没有看见，只有一种巨大的恐怖临到他们身上，因而他们都逃避隐藏了。 | 7And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw it not: but an exceeding great terror fell upon them, and they fled away, and hid themselves. |
| 8只留下我一个人，独自观看这巨大的异象；我顿时全身无力，容貌改变，面色苍白，没有一点气力， | 8And I being left alone saw this great vision: and there remained no strength in me, and the appearance of my countenance was changed in me, and I fainted away, and retained no strength. |
| 9但仍能听到他说话的声音；一听到他说话的声音，我就昏迷过去，俯伏在地。 | 9And I heard the voice of his words: and when I heard, I lay in a consternation, upon my face, and my face was close to the ground. |
| 10忽然有一只手触摸我，使我用膝和手掌勉强支持， | 10And behold a hand touched me, and lifted me up upon my knees, and upon the joints of my hands. |
| 11然后他对我说：「达尼尔，最可爱的人！你要明白我对你所说的话！你站起来，因为我现在是被派到你这里来的。」他对我说这话时，我站立起来，浑身战栗。 | 11And he said to me: Daniel, thou man of desires, understand the words that I speak to thee, and stand upright: for I am sent now to thee. And when he had said this word to me, I stood trembling. |
| 12他又对我说：「达尼尔，你不要害怕！因为自从你下决心要明白此事，在你的天主前，自卑自贱的第一天以来，你的祈祷就得蒙应允，我就是因你的祈祷而来的。 | 12And he said to me: Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, to afflict thyself in the sight of thy God, thy words have been heard: and I am come for thy words. |
| 13但是波斯国的护守天使却反对我，使我在波斯国护守天使那里滞留了二十一天，后来忽有总领护守天使之一的弥额尔前来协助我， | 13But the prince of the kingdom of the Persians resisted me one and twenty days: and behold Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, and I remained there by the king of the Persians. |
| 14我才来了，为叫你明白，你的百姓在末日所要遭遇的事，因为这神视是有关那未来之日的。」 | 14But I am come to teach thee what things shall befall thy people in the latter days, for as yet the vision is for days. |
| 15他对我说这些话时，我俯首至地，哑口无言。 | 15And when he was speaking such words to me, I cast down my countenance to the ground, and held my peace. |
| 16忽然有个像人子的手，触摸了我的唇，我便开口向那站在我面前的说道：「我主！由于这异象，我又感到非常痛苦，没有一点气力。 | 16And behold, as it were the likeness of a son of man touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me: O my Lord, at the sight of thee my joints are loosed, and no strength hath remained in me. |
| 17我主的这个仆人如何能同我主说话？因为我现在全身无力，连呼吸也没有了。」 | 17And how can the servant of my lord speak with my lord? for no strength remaineth in me, moreover my breath is stopped. |
| 18那像人子的又抚摸了我，坚固我， | 18Therefore he that looked like a man touched me again, and strengthened me. |
| 19说：「极可爱的！不要害怕！愿你平安！鼓起勇气，振作精神！」他一对我说话，我立刻觉得有了力量，于是我说：「我主，请你发言罢！因为你坚固了我。」 | 19And he said: Fear not, O man of desires, peace be to thee: take courage and be strong. And when he spoke to me, I grew strong: and I said: Speak, O my lord, for thou hast strengthened me. |
| 20他于是说：「你知道我为什么到你这里来？现在我要回去，同波斯的护守天使交战。我一去，希腊的护守天使就会前来。 | 20And he said: Dost thou know wherefore I am come to thee? and now I will return, to fight against the prince of the Persians. When I went forth, there appeared the prince of the Greeks coming. |
| 21我要把载于真理书上的事告诉你。除了你们的护守天使弥额尔外，没有前来协助我的。」 | 21But I will tell thee what is set down in the scripture of truth: and none is my helper in all these things, but Michael your prince. |
