¹巴比伦王贝耳沙匝元年，达尼尔睡在床上，作了一梦，在脑海里见了一些异象；他遂写下那梦，记述了这事的始末。	¹In the first year of Baltasar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream: and the vision of his head was upon his bed: and writing the dream, he comprehended it in few words: and relating the sum of it in short, he said:
²达尼尔说道：我夜间见了一个异象：看见天上忽然起了四股巨风，震荡了大海，	²I saw in my vision by night, and behold the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
³遂有四种巨兽从海中出来，各有不同的形状：	³And four great beasts, different one from another, came up out of the sea.
⁴第一个相似狮子，具有鹰的翅膀；我观看，直至见牠的翅膀被拔去，由地上被举起来，两脚直立像一个人，且给了牠一颗人心。	⁴The first was like a lioness, and had the wings of an eagle: I beheld till her wings were plucked off, and she was lifted up from the earth, and stood upon her feet as a man, and the heart of a man was given to her.
⁵又看见另一个兽，就是第二个，相似熊，半身侧立，口内牙齿间衔着三根肋骨；有人吩咐牠说：「起来，大量吞食肉罢！」	⁵And behold another beast like a bear stood up on one side: and there were three rows in the mouth thereof, and in the teeth thereof, and thus they said to it: Arise, devour much flesh.
⁶后来我又观看，看见另有一兽，相似豹子，有四个头，背上有四只鸟的翅膀，且赐给了牠统治权。	⁶After this I beheld, and lo, another like a leopard, and it had upon it four wings as of a fowl, and the beast had four heads, and power was given to it.
⁷此后，我在夜间的神视中观看，看见第四个兽，非常可怕，极其凶猛，有巨大的铁牙，吞噬咬碎，又把剩余的用脚践踏；牠与以前各兽不同，尚有十只角。	⁷After this I beheld in the vision of the night, and lo, a fourth beast, terrible and wonderful, and exceeding strong, it had great iron teeth, eating and breaking in pieces, and treading down the rest with its feet: and it was unlike to the other beasts which I had seen before it, and had ten horns.
⁸我定睛注视这些角时，看见在那些角中又生出另一只小角，在这小角前面，以前的角中有三只角竟被连根拔除；看，小角上还有眼睛，相似人的眼睛，有一个夸大的口。	⁸I considered the horns, and behold another little horn sprung out of the midst of them: and three of the first horns were plucked up at the presence thereof: and behold eyes like the eyes of a man were in this horn, and a mouth speaking great things.
⁹我观望，直到安置了宝座，上面坐着一位万古常存者，他的衣服洁白如雪，他的头发洁白如羊毛，他的宝座好似火焰，宝座的轮子如同烈火。	⁹I beheld till thrones were placed, and the Ancient of days sat: his garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like clean wool: his throne like flames of fire: the wheels of it like a burning fire.
¹⁰一道火河涌出，从他面前流下，有千万服事他的，有亿兆侍立在他面前的，审判者已坐堂，案卷已展开。	¹⁰A swift stream of fire issued forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times a hundred thousand stood before him: the judgment sat, and the books were opened.
¹¹那时，我因那只角说出大话而注意观望，一直观望到那兽被杀，牠的尸体被撕毁，被投入火内。	¹¹I beheld because of the voice of the great words which that horn spoke: and I saw that the beast was slain, and the body thereof was destroyed, and given to the fire to be burnt:
¹²至于其余的兽，牠们的统治权被剥夺；至于牠们的寿命，也被注定直到某一个时候和期限。	¹²And that the power of the other beasts was taken away: and that times of life were appointed them for a time, and a time.
¹³我仍在夜间的神视中观望：看见一位相似人子者，乘着天上的云彩而来，走向万古常存者，遂即被引到他面前。	¹³I beheld therefore in the vision of the night, and lo, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and he came even to the Ancient of days: and they presented him before him.
¹⁴他便赐给似人子者统治权、尊荣和国度，各民族、各邦国及各异语人民都要侍奉他；他的王权是永远的王权，永存不替，他的国度永不灭亡。	¹⁴And he gave him power, and glory, and a kingdom: and all peoples, tribes and tongues shall serve him: his power is an everlasting power that shall not be taken away: and his kingdom that shall not be destroyed.
¹⁵我达尼尔，因此心中忧愁，我所见的异象使我烦乱；	¹⁵My spirit trembled, I Daniel was affrighted at these things, and the visions of my head troubled me.
¹⁶我遂走近一位侍者，问他关于这一切事的实情；他便告诉了我，使我知道这些事的意义说：	¹⁶I went near to one of them that stood by, and asked the truth of him concerning all these things, and he told me the interpretation of the words, and instructed me:
¹⁷「这四个巨兽就是将在世界上兴起的四个君王；	¹⁷These four great beasts are four kingdoms, which shall arise out of the earth.
¹⁸但至高者的圣民要承受王国，永远占有，直至万世万代。」	¹⁸But the saints of the most high God shall take the kingdom: and they shall possess the kingdom for ever and ever.
¹⁹当时我又想知道有关那第四个兽的实情，因为牠与众不同，非常可怕，牠的牙是铁的，爪是铜的，吞噬咬碎，又把剩余的用脚践踏。	¹⁹After this I would diligently learn concerning the fourth beast, which was very different from all, and exceeding terrible: his teeth and claws were of iron: he devoured and broke in pieces, and the rest he stamped upon with his feet:
²⁰我又愿意知道牠头上的那十只角及生于其中的那另一只角，即那只使三只角堕于牠前的角，这角还有眼睛，有夸大的口，并且它的状比其余的角都大。	²⁰And concerning the ten horns that he had on his head: and concerning the other that came up, before which three horns fell: and of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and was greater than the rest.
²¹我观看，看见这只角正在与圣民交战，竟战胜了他们，	²¹I beheld, and lo, that horn made war against the saints, and prevailed over them,
²²直到万古常存者降来，为至高者的圣民伸冤，于是期限到了，而众圣民取得了国权。	²²Till the Ancient of days came and gave judgment to the saints of the most High, and the time came, and the saints obtained the kingdom.
²³侍者告诉我说：「这第四个兽就是将在世界上兴起的第四个国，她与其他各国不同，她要并吞、蹂躏且粉碎天下。	²³And thus he said: The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be greater than all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
²⁴至于那十只角，即指将由此国而兴起的十个君王；他们以后，将兴起另一位君王，他与以前者不同，他要制胜三个君王，	²⁴And the ten horns of the same kingdom, shall be ten kings: and another shall rise up after them, and he shall be mightier than the former, and he shall bring down three kings.
²⁵他要说亵渎至高者的话，企图消灭至高者的圣民，擅自改变节庆和法律；圣民将被交在他手中，直到一段时期，另两段时期和半段时期；	²⁵And he shall speak words against the High One, and shall crush the saints of the most High: and he shall think himself able to change times and laws, and they shall be delivered into his hand until a time, and times, and half a time.
²⁶然后审判者要坐堂，夺去他的统治权，将他永远消灭，	²⁶And judgment shall sit, that his power may be taken away, and be broken in pieces, and perish even to the end.
²⁷将王国的统治权和天下万邦的尊威，赐给至高者的圣民：他的国是永远的国，一切邦国都要服事他，顺从他。」	²⁷And that the kingdom, and power, and the greatness of the kingdom, under the whole heaven, may be given to the people of the saints of the most High: whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all kings shall serve him, and shall obey him.
²⁸此事叙述至此结束，我达尼尔心中十分烦乱，面色都改变了，但我仍将此事存在心中。	²⁸Hitherto is the end of the word. I Daniel was much troubled with my thoughts, and my countenance was changed in me: but I kept the word in my heart.
