| 1把你的粮食抛到水面，多日后你必有所获。 | 1Cast thy bread upon the running waters: for after a long time thou shalt find it again. |
| 2将你的家产分作七分八分，因为你不知道世上要发生什么灾祸。 | 2Give a portion to seven, and also to eight: for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. |
| 3云一满了，雨即倾注于地。树倒向南或倒向北，一倒在那里，就躺在那 里。 | 3If the clouds be full, they will pour out rain upon the earth. If the tree fall to the south, or to the north, in what place soever it shall fall, there shall it be. |
| 4观察风向的，必不撒种；研究云象的，必不收割， | 4He that observeth the wind, shall not sow: and he that considereth the clouds, shall never reap. |
| 5就如你不知道生气如何进入孕妇胎中的骨骼里，同样你也不知道天主所创造的一切化工。 | 5As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones are joined together in the womb of her that is with child: so thou knowest not the works of God, who is the maker of all. |
| 6你早上撒种，晚上也不要住手，因为你不知道：是早上撒的，或是晚上撒的长的好，或是两种都同样好。 | 6In the morning sow thy seed, and In the evening let not thy hand cease: for thou knowest not which may rather spring up, this or that: and if both together, it shall be the better. |
| 7光明实在可爱，看见太阳实在令眼舒畅。 | 7The light is sweet, and it is delightful for the eyes to see the sun. |
| 8人无论活了多大年纪，尽可享受各种福乐；但他应想到黑暗的日子还多，所发生的事，尽属虚幻。 | 8If a man live many years, and have rejoiced in them all, he must remember the darksome time, and the many days: which when they shall come, the things past shall be accused of vanity. |
| 9少年人，在你青春时应欢乐；在你少壮的时日，应心神愉快；随你心所欲，你眼所悦的去行，但应知道：天主必要就你所行的一切审判你。 | 9Rejoice therefore, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart be in that which is good in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thy eyes: and know that for all these God will bring thee into judgment. |
| 10扫除你心中的烦恼，驱除你身上的痛苦，因为青春和少年都是虚幻。 | 10Remove anger from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh. For youth and pleasure are vain. |
